421  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] G.ASICMINER-PT on: June 13, 2013, 05:12:02 PM
Can you pay out the dividend! Not sure why you are a full day behind BTCT. THe quicker you are the higher prices will be so it is in your best interest IMO

Relax man, it hasn't even been 24 hours since the divs have cleared from AM.

fair enough I just thought they usually pay out at the same time. I just find it weird that bitfunder prices are so much lower than btct right now even though btct has already paid dividends. Also, volume is 4X more on btct in the last 24 hours and I assume part of that is because they pay the dividends more quickly. Volumes have not been that spread before.

PS: quick question, what is the minimum shares I would need to switch from bitfunder to btct? (just curious, wont necessarily do it as I like bitfunder)

Arbitrage eh? It's a minimum of 250 shares to withdraw from BitFunder.

You still haven't provided a wallet address to send BTC to...

Send 1BTC here before the end of the day to reserve your share in our IPO.

Excellent! Now if I can only send negative BTC amounts...

424  Economy / Securities / Re: Asicminer valuation on: June 13, 2013, 05:13:52 AM
Totally mistaken please go read the IPO, 1 share of ASICMINER indeed represents 1/400000 of the ownership of Bitfountain.

Actually...

If I understand correctly, Bitfountain is doing the manufacturing and ASICMINER is buying the equipment from them.
Actually not. One ASICMINER share represents 1/400,000 of the net profits from Bitfountain. Therefore the answer to this question:

- Is there a way for me to invest in Bitfountain directly? That seems much more interesting to me. You know, the only one making money from the gold rush was the guy selling shovels. I'm already too exposed to the mining risks, but selling shovels seems like a plan Cool

will be that:

Investing in ASICMINER is investing in Bitfountain. No matter Bitfountain mines with its own hardware, sells its hardware/hashrates, or even expands its business domain, ASICMINER shareholders get all possible means of profits of Bitfountain proportionally.

Source

EDIT: IPO post does also mention voting power with AM shares.
425  Economy / Securities / Re: Asicminer valuation on: June 13, 2013, 04:20:42 AM
How many shares are outstanding for ASICMINER then?

Each ASICMINER share has an enitlement to 1/400,000th of their profit - but isn't actually a share in BitFountain (the company issuing the ASICMINER shares).

For practical purposes you should assume there are 400,000 shares - all of which are outstanding.  The details aren't worth explaining - if you MUST know them then read firedcat's posts in the ASICMINER thread.

Additionally, I have also done an informal report here with their earnings from Feb 28 - May 31. Hope it helps.

How long does it typically take for the dividends to be paid to everyone by Asicminer?  My first week holding shares and am anxious to see my dividends arrive in my wallet.

Welcome to the club! Wednesdays will be the new Fridays!
428  Economy / Auctions / Re: ASICMINER fixed price auction 2.5BTC/share, 2000 shares on: June 12, 2013, 01:14:28 PM
Thank you, Jutarul. You've handled the transfer professionally. And I've already been receiving dividends directly from friedcat.

Seconded, he's a pro and great to deal with.

No need for escrow because I trust him as much as anyone.

Thanks Jutarul.

Agreed, I've worked with him w/o escrow just fine. He sold me my first ASICMiner shares, back when they were still 0.5/share  Grin

ASICMiner has overtaken BTCGuild and 50BTC to be the largest mining "pool" (as of this post's time stamp)!!!

Shareholders rejoice!!

Thumbs up!  I like the cat in the frying pan better.  Can someone come up with a slick slogan?

Fried, not grilled.  ASIC Mining.  ASICMiner.  AM.  etc. etc.   Cheesy

i'd want permission from AM before i started putting names in there.. don't wanna get in trouble  Cool

Put "Cat Rich or Fry Trying"

Or "Minin' the chain, one block at a time"

It will get double doubletakes, due to making no sense outside the BTC world.
431  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: June 10, 2013, 03:14:53 AM
The board had a meeting yesterday. friedcat is doing well and is very busy with growing the company.

I understand some of you guys want more information, but releasing information has to fit with the strategy of the company, which means that sometimes things are progressing in a secretive manner. Of course this doesn't help with investment decisions.

I recommend that the PT operators or willing board members should compile questions from smaller investors and feed them to friedcat in a structured manner. Maybe the replies could be organized as a FAQ. He simply doesn't have time to dig through the forum and answer questions here.

I would be willing to take on this task, perhaps even do this on a monthly basis. Please PM me with questions you would like friedcat to address, with the subject line "ASICMiner FAQ". I will compile them and send it to him. As previously mentioned, friedcat may not answer the question if he deems that it may divulge Bitfountain's strategy/plan to competitors.

Just posting another reminder for those that have questions for friedcat. A few of us have started to compile questions for submission. Please keep in mind that it is very possible he may not answer some/any questions but would still like to submit them, on behalf of the "minority shareholders."

bitcoins and Asicminer got hella cheap overnight!!

BUY BUY BUY!!!

Not too cheap.. only 2.3-ish.
2.4-ish, now

And by Wednesday morning, it'll be back to 2.5/share. Making a profit of .2/share, that's roughly 10 weeks of dividends.
433  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Interested in KnC Group Buy? on: June 08, 2013, 11:47:46 PM
For those wondering, I will be purchasing shares myself. "Management Cut" will take care of all hosting fees by KnC (electricity, maintenance, etc); managing share transfers; and dividend payout. The mining devices will be hosted by KnC and I would need more info about their fees before providing final numbers.
434  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [GROUP BUY] 100 KnC Jupiter 1-500 on: June 08, 2013, 11:44:48 PM
Since you'll be offering the hosting option, and you don't believe you'll sell all the units available, you should consider selling shares of the units. There's a lot of people who simply can't participate in these group buys due to not having the funds.

For example, you want 71 BTC for each device, so 1/100 shares would cost 0.71 for BTC for 1.2 Gh/s, which a lot more people could afford. If you really want to reach the masses, you could sell 1/1000 shares for 0.071 BTC for 120 Mh/s.

Personally, I'd go with something like shares representing 1/1200 costing 0.071 BTC for 100 Mh/s with you keeping 200 shares as a management fee.

I think you'd sell a few more machines with such an offer on the table.

There are some folks going this approach and people who do not want to risk that much have already enough choices.

From operating a publicly traded mining bond in the past I know that this is a full-time-job that is a perfect challenge to learn a lot about Bitcoin if you don't have a day job. I do have one, and this is nothing I could do well enough in my limited spare time.

Sadly time is short, otherwise I would not mind if someone else organized such contracts with units bought from this group buy.

Did that here
435  Bitcoin / Hardware / Interested in KnC Group Buy? on: June 08, 2013, 11:43:48 PM
To lower the barrier of entry for those interesting in getting a piece of KnC's action, I've proposed the following plan. If enough folks want in, I will increase the numbers of KnC Jupiters purchased from zefir's thread (Link). Now, for some numbers:

[ESTIMATES ONLY]
From 1 KnC Jupiter:

Total Hash:       350 GH/s
Management Cut:   35 GH/s (or 10%)
Net Hash:         315 GH/s
Shares Issued:    70 (priced @ 1 BTC)
Hash Rate/Share:  4500 MH/s (or ~1.285% of all BTC earned)

So that means, 1 BTC will buy you 4500 MH/s. I will go into more details regarding the group buy if sufficient interest shows itself. If you have any questions, please PM with the subject line "KnC Group Buy".

Zefir's Permission Here

I will take you up on it. John K has all my personal info (ID, billing statements, etc). Interested?
440  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [GROUP BUY] 100 KnC Jupiter 1-500 on: June 08, 2013, 03:32:36 PM
Is there any sort of discount for those wanting KnC to host it?

Would you be willing to provide the option of KnC hosting the device? That seems to be a deciding factor for some.
