8561  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling for a living or a living for Gambling? on: December 31, 2016, 09:22:34 AM
Hi Everyone..!!!

Why are you gambling,  you do it for gambling a living or a living for gambling?
Please share your opinion.
Thanks in advance.

I gambling not for money only but for entertaining people but somehow i want to earn money from gambling sometimes it is so hard for me to win i played gambling for the sake of money so maybe gambling for a living. If you can't win then don't push your self too hard.

this is what i am doing too because i am realize that i can not win big money from gambling so i only enjoy when i am playing gambling. and for me, i am playing gambling is because of the fun things that i want to do in my life and i am not living for gambling.
8562  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is gambling so addicting? on: December 31, 2016, 09:20:31 AM
I don't know why but I always get a feeling to gamble, after then losing my money, I quit for some time and then continue, but I know I will lose my btc Sad

Why is it so addictive?
yes my feel too , i think gambling was created with in addictive
and addictive is a sign that gambling ..
interest in gambling is the beginning of addiction. Well, I guess it's fair goes back to play, even though you know that the money you use to gamble it will run out. Well, almost everyone who gamble like that. I guess it is the effect of gambling, and it does have a sense of enormous interest to try again.

It is probably the interest that drags you back somewhere where you know you will lose everything you have, and this interest makes you in habit of it slowly slowly and after a few days even if you want to leave it but you will still not be able to leave it.

yes its true and many of us is come back into gambling industry even if we don't make any profit. the gambling is design to make people wants to play over and over until their money is empty and the site or the casino makes a new changes to attract more people to come into their places.
8563  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Traditional Gambling or Online Gambling? What's yours? on: December 31, 2016, 09:16:02 AM
i am prefer with online gambling beside the benefit for me like i don't have to go into the real casino and other. but sometimes i am playing traditional gambling with my friends if we've meet in my home or my friends house. usually we've play cards with using money but not for big money because we only want to have fun in the card games.
8564  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can gambling be considered a "high risk investment"? on: December 31, 2016, 09:14:05 AM
for me, gambling is not high risk investment but its only gaming that we've play with money involve. but if investing in the house then i consider its high risk investment because if we don't select the good gambling website then we are risk our money.
8565  Economy / Economics / Re: How many Bitcoin do you have saved? on: December 30, 2016, 07:15:01 AM
BTC 85

Wow! For me that is a really large number if they are bitcoins, because the price is already touching $1000 mark and if someone holding that many bitcoins would probably be quite rich specially if he is from a place like where I live, maybe in some countries that is not much.

I'm in the USA, and I'm not rich at all. This money would last me 1-2 years if I had no job. Where do you live?  Maybe I should move there because I hate working Wink

I don't think you will receive the answer for your question from him. No one wants an additional lazy citizen for his country. If living in USA keep you working, so be it, stay right there and work.
Unless a person is born rich he has the choice not to work and just spend the money of his parents to live, it's impossible not to work as even the rich people are still working to make themselves richer.

its to be a good if we are born rich but its not be happen for other people. we still need to work to get the money and its what we seeing in out ther. in bitcoin, i think i am not yet save 1 bitcoin but i am sure that i can save more in 2017 so i think i need to continue my work so i can saved more amount.
8566  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CryptoCurrency on: December 30, 2016, 07:11:02 AM
Hello I am a novice at the cryptography,

I have been reading the talks here since couple of days, I have some questions (answers to those may lead to more questions  Cheesy )
1.) Why there are so many coins and most of them are not used in the real world ?
2.) Mining of each type of coins require high-end GPUs' which cost a lot, what if the coin reaches to its maximum limits, how then mining works
3.) How do you prevent some one starts a new coin, pre-generate most of the coins, get it listed on some exchange and then suddenly abandoned ( ByteCoin, Infinite Coin for and example ), I am not able to find any active links for its developments.
4.) Lets say I want to start mining what will be the best currency for GPU mining
5.) What is required to start own pool ( I own few servers sitting ideal )

Thanks in advance  Grin

1. not just other coins, bitcoin itself is not used in the real world for the most of people.
2. not really for the altcoin which have low diff but its works good with high-end GPU's.
3. to prevent this is simple, don't buy the coins and you are fine, this is only what i am thinking.
4. the best currency i think you can choose with eth, etc, dash, xmr, zec because this coins have stable price except eth.
5. i don't know for this because i am not start my own pool.
8567  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto profit of the 2016 on: December 30, 2016, 07:07:34 AM
I cannot disregard the fact that ETH had an amazing, amazing year in 2016 (Even with all the issues having taken place). On paper, it still showed the success its reached in such time.

yes its true, eth have a good time in 2016 and don't forget with etc too because etc now is a good time to get up while we can see on the market, the volume is up and they are a good movements from the buyer and the seller. i think the other coins like xmr, ltc, dash, doge is on the way to give us some profit in the last days of 2016.
8568  Economy / Economics / Re: Trump's pick for budget chief loves gold and bitcoin on: December 30, 2016, 06:19:20 AM
Glad to read it. Wink At least this guy is not anti-bitcoin. Policy will possibly be more open to Bitcoin, and that means less restrictions in using Bitcoin can be expected in the future.

if there are many people like that guy that is not anti-bitcoin then i am sure that bitcoin will be spread into more people and the government will not prohibited people for using bitcoin and for bitcoin itself, the user will be grow and we can see that bitcoin will be available more in the offline store. at least this will be a good news for bitcoin community and we hope this will be followed by another person.
8569  Economy / Speculation / Re: Speculation Strategies? (Am a noob that has none - but is looking) on: December 30, 2016, 06:15:46 AM
Hi there!

How to say, i am a noob.

My speculation 'strategy' is:
1. Buy bitcoin (in my case low 2-digits)
2. Wait a year (for tax reasons; also i don't want to do daytrading)
3. Wait for a bubble
4. Sell in the bubble and rebuy lower (start at 1. again)

So, i guess that's not a strategy.
So far i am at Nr 3.
Of course the 'problem': When is it a bubble, when is the bubble over? This is not a method, it's vague words.
Eg right now. I guess the bubble is over.. i am like 50/50 if it's higher or lower in a week; was it just a small bubble, all kinds of thoughts. And i am staring at the bitcoin rate and somehow look for movement and think about if i should sell now or not. It's stupid.

'Finding a bitcoin trading strategy where i only buy/sell at the bubbles (and only at maximum once a year) and kinda gives me peace of mind'
is on my todo list. This post is a first step.

Thankful for any pointers! And to good posts/threads.
Thanks for comments.

(ps also thankful for links to websites (or software? i have no idea) where i can look at exponential moving averages and stuff)

its still good strategy for you because the other people's strategy will not always work for another person and we need to found what is strategy that work properly for us and we need to search more to find it. but for the best strategy is you can buy when the price is low, safe it for a while and when the price is jump into higher price than you bought, you can sell it to get profit.
8570  Economy / Speculation / Re: The price is $977 now, Will it hit $1,000? on: December 30, 2016, 06:12:46 AM
i don't think in the new year the price will be reach $1000, but if for 2017 then i am sure that the price will reach what we want because the new year is only two days left and the price now is getting down into $951 for now and i am not sure with this but if there are any big players that want to pump the price, then it could be happen in this two days.
8571  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: shorting bitcoins on: December 30, 2016, 06:09:57 AM

I believe that the current BTC price reflects a bitcoin bubble and it will decrease sharply soon.

How can I short sell, given that I currently don't own any bitcoins?
Is there any exchange service that offers this feature?

Indeed, if you are looking back onto the few years before, and that's same like you saying. At 2014 this was happening and it seems like a bubble, just survive for a short time at the rate over $1000.

You don't have a bitcoin, and how you think for do a short selling? Borrow? that's bad.

yes and before selling bitcoin, you need to buy bitcoin first or at least you must have few satoshi to start selling. and for borrow into other places or other person, like JeffBrad12 said, its not good because you should thinking about what you want to do to repay that amount and the fee and how long you can repay the amount you borrow.
8572  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are You Disappointed In Trading? on: December 30, 2016, 06:06:44 AM
i think i am disappointed in trading is when i can not make big profit and i am too fast to sell the coins because i have this experience in many times, like for example, i have stock of nsr, i am selling my nsr stock in the price 45 satoshi but after 10 minutes gone, the price suddenly gets pump into 80 satoshi, actually i am getting disappointed and sad why i sell to fast rather than i can waited for another time, but i am realize, i can not predict as precisely like other traders and finally i accepting what i have and i will trying again in another moment.
8573  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The future looks fantastic, kids love Bitcoin on: December 30, 2016, 05:59:01 AM
My kids love bitcoin, they have had wallets for 3 years and have introduced the friends to the concept. They are all swapping bitcoin and exchanging things for it.  It reminds me of the ted talk by andreas which i have posted below. " try explaining KYC to these kids when their 18", lol  Grin

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1AVRVfw-8nE

Edit: watch about 17:00 for exact quote.

they have their wallet for 3 years? what is the price they buy bitcoin in 3 years ago? i bet that for now, they can be rich kids and their friends can be jealous to them because your kids have much of money that ready to be withdraw into their bank account.
8574  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: (RE: Exchanges hack) Let's talk about a solution before instead of crying after on: December 30, 2016, 05:57:10 AM
we have all seen exchanges being hacked and lost our precious bitcoins or at least heard about them. and these days i keep seeing these two topics saying there is a possibility for a new one!

i say lets talk about a solution. there is no point sitting around waiting for one to happen then start crying!

  • what can we do?
and don't keep your money on exchange site is not an acceptable answer! because you have to do it if you want to trade, the exchange may get hacked (allegedly or for real) 1 minute after you deposit.

  • what is the substitute for these exchanges?
decentralized exchange? how do they work? is there any good one around? why aren't they famous? what are the pros and cons?
i'll admit that i don't know much about decentralized exchanges and i am sure i am not alone here

let this topic be a compilation of all suggestion for either an existing solution or future possibilities and ideas.

for me, my solution is never put all of your bitcoin into one exchangers, but split it into many exchangers and don't use large amount in that exchangers, the most of your bitcoin will be store in your private wallet so if there is something bad happen with exchangers, we still have our bitcoin in our wallet that is safe in that wallet.
8575  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Starbucks accepting bitcoin on: December 30, 2016, 05:55:27 AM
In my country, a Bitcoin exchanger (coins.ph) recently launched their own virtual credit card, I plan to load my Starbucks card using that virtual credit card, if it works, then maybe I can say that Starbucks in my country accepts Bitcoin through a VCC but if its direct paying Starbucks using Bitcoin then we don't have it yet here.

It would be better for you to keep all your Bitcoin savings intact because there is really no need for them to be spent to buy coffee in Starbucks of all places. Just use cash. It is a better form of payment for your daily wants and needs.

i wonder starbucks will open their shop in many places because not all country have starbucks to buy coffee and i think in my places its few starbucks store so maybe i need to wait more time to buy coffee in starbucks. but i am sure, this step will be follow by another store so people can spend their bitcoin to buy the products.
8576  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin transactions - Slow OR Fast on: December 30, 2016, 05:52:37 AM
See bitcoin transactions depends upon the speed of youe internet
But usually it takes upto 1 hour

not really, its depend on the network traffic and if the network can handle many of transactions then i think for completing the transacting its less than 1 hour and i have many time to receive the bitcoin amount in less than 30 minutes.
8577  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's freaking 2017 - Do you own 1 BTC? on: December 30, 2016, 05:50:31 AM
its too far for me to won 1 bitcoin but i am sure i will reach in the half of 2017 and i am willing to do smart work. and for 2016, i think its the most hard for me to earn bitcoin because i have to do many thing and i hope in 2017, i can make more earning until i can reach 1 bitcoin in the half of 2017.
8578  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Help about Gambling? on: December 30, 2016, 05:47:35 AM
Live casino is the best choose I guess let's say like blackjack and Roulette but at least you you must have a huge amount to play there

i'd better to playing with gambling site because in my places, there is no live casino and its prohibited in here so if we are playing gambling in online, i think its more safe and we don't have to filled our details with sending our ID to the site. beside that, for playing gambling in online, we don't have to use huge amount to play gambling and we can make a little bet in the site.
8579  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin gambling idea on: December 30, 2016, 05:45:00 AM
Hello;

I want to establish a bitcoin gambling website. Can you guys suggest me a "unique" idea excluding rolling a dice and poket?

I need a cool and brilliant idea which is currently not on the market.

Thank you!

i think you can add bonuses for new member which is register into your site, beside that, you can add faucet for your member because the member always happy with free satoshi. the other maybe you can make an event for the launching of the site, after that, you can make another event to attracted more people.
8580  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best Investments on: December 24, 2016, 04:11:35 PM
The best investment is investing your money in Bitcoin. You can see the value of BTC is gradually increasing and it will go up and up in future as the popularity of the Bitcoin is increasing day by day. Trade as much as you can and try to be positive.  Smiley
I agree, it is better to buy bitcoin then hold for a long time. We have to wait, when the price go up, do not immediately sell. Believe me, the price of the bitcoin will always go up. I regret having sold 3 bitcoin when the price is $650 about 2 months ago.

You know what mate? I was like you before. I just ended up quitting regretting because no one will ever know when and how much the price would go up/down. I learned to just play along. Sell whenever there is a slight rise and buy whenever there is a slight drop. Do not wait for a big one because it is not gonna happen.

Same thing with me, I tried to invest my coins before and sell it maybe 3 months ago and now that the bitcoin is increasing it is full of regret in my part knowing that the bitcoin still increasing so fast now.

but I just wonder how can we know that the value of it will increase high or decreases so low, It maybe  just got to the point of afraidness that you might lose your money if the bitcoin goes low but then it was all wrong because it is so high now.

i think its now the time to decrease because the price of bitcoin is getting down in under $900 and i think if you buy, you can watch what happen in the market and if you feel you can enter to the order buy, then you can choose the price in more deep but not to deep to choose.
