4201  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you make a trade or investment decision? on: June 23, 2020, 02:06:47 PM
I want to share on how I make trading decision.

Before I make any decision I will consider this things: for example Bitcoin

  • Price of the coin at the moment
  • Stability of the coin, if on roller coaster mode then, NO  Smiley
  • News about the coin
  • Graphs

After I settle and see if that's a good coin to trade at the moment then, I will start trading right away. And BTW, I am a day trader so that's my daily scenario whenever I want to trade  Grin I hope you will consider this things also when trading.
4202  Economy / Economics / Re: Where and How to Spend Your Bitcoins? on: June 23, 2020, 01:47:28 PM
Here in Philippines you can spend you bitcoins on online shop like Shopee, It's a big company here in Philippines so it's more like aliexpress and Alibaba here. You can spend your bitcoin there using our local online wallet provider which is coins.ph. So basically they are partnered. Grin That is how you spend your bitcoin in the Philippines through online shop  Grin
4203  Economy / Economics / Re: Which is better, staking or investing? on: June 23, 2020, 01:35:27 PM
Both are different and I think both should be applied as an investor here in crypto. You can invest in one coin and stake it! that alone will combine the two and will produce a better or worst result, that is going to be a double edge sword since some of the staking on exchange have a lock in period and you can't sell your coin on a specific price that you want.

And I just want to share that if you want a not so risky type of staking, I know that Crypto.com is offering a staking for Tether with 10% p.a interest  Smiley That is going to be a really good investment/staking passive income. And compare to real world banks then, that is a rock solid one.  Smiley
4204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLING SITE INVESTMENT on: June 23, 2020, 05:23:16 AM
Coin choice will matter even in long run if you consider the price of it in fiat. Imagine you are winning the investment at Yolodice but you are losing the price of your coin in fiat, so in the end, it will ended-up breakeven or a loss.
I agree with this and this is probably my reason why I only investing in BTC right now in Yolodice.

LTC and DOGE are basing on the price of BTC so if BTC go down so these 2 will be too and worse if some whales won with a huge amount then your profit will be lost too in an instant.

Not only LTC and DOGE, all the altcoins are basing on the price of bitcoin, so it's not wise to choose altcoins if you are investing for long term since when you are investing in a casino, your main purpose is to see some profit and that you also believe that the coin your use in investing is the most stable coin in the market.

I am not saying LTC and DOGE will be a bad choice, you are just going to need a good entry point on those two.  Smiley

If you are going to check my first investment the price of bitcoin there is at 6k so it's a very good entry point! And the investment itself at Yolodice is just a addition to the profit itself.

But yeah, pretty much agree that almost all of the altcoin are also inclining on the bitcoin price itself. So if you consider investing choose the coin that have lowest risk of dropping and for me that's bitcoin.  Smiley

It seems that you have a bad start with DOGE, cheer up mate! If you are aiming for long term then, I think you will get it back in no time!  Smiley

Wow! Yatsan.
That is super cool.

I didn't imagine it could go way that far for 10 weeks without doing anything.
I hope I started earlier too.
There is not much risk since these gambling sites are trusted, specially Yolodice.  Wink

Looking forward to seeing more updates.
This will boost more of us into investing and playing in our supported gambling sites.

Thank you! Don't worry I will continue updating this thread  Grin Yolodice is indeed a good place to invest your spare bitcoins  Smiley

5.69% of ROI for 10 weeks is a good return of investment already, that's around 2% profit per month, with bigger investment, you will feel the profit.
Let's say you invested 5 btc, then you will get at least 0.125 btc per month or equivalent to 1,179 usd per month, that's a good return, right?
It depends actually from the coins invested in and how much bankroll share you have. For example people investing in Doge are losing their money right now after they were in profit, of course this could change at a later stage. BTC and LTC seems quite stable for the first moment but who knows in the future.
I think I would disagree with you, coins differences are does not affect the chances of winning, let's just say some people are lucky that time but we know games in a casino are meant to give them favors, so maybe look at the long term performance than short term.
Yeah I should mentioned that I meant the short run investment +/- medium run. Obviously with long term investment, coins choice at a selected time will not be as relevant as in short term Smiley

Coin choice will matter even in long run if you consider the price of it in fiat. Imagine you are winning the investment at Yolodice but you are losing the price of your coin in fiat, so in the end, it will ended-up breakeven or a loss.

4207  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Physical Casinos Decoded : on: June 22, 2020, 08:44:04 AM
So it means that those addicted gamblers will want to go physical casino to play gambling and will not care about their health. If they got infected by covid-19, whom they will blame ? This means that gambling addiction will be another reason for the cause of covid-19. Why not play gambling online and avoid visiting the physical casino ?
Not necessarily. There are still gambling addicts even in Online gambling, and anyone wanting to go to physical casinos to gamble doesn't mean that they are addicts. A casino could also said to be similar to a meeting place which can be used to meet up with other people. It isn't as simple as Online gambling and Physical gambling after all. It's like how Mobile gaming differ from the immersion that PC gaming can offer.
The bigger casino doesn't want to see their reputations damaged because of the small mistake, so they make sure that they can handle their environment. Maybe they are placing their employees as gamblers, making sure that everything can run properly and make money from their place. A gambler who only want to enjoy the game and having fun in the gambling will not want to think anything. They will let the casino handle everything.
What's the use of having employees pretend as gamblers? If they were found out, it could easily be seen as a way to manipulate the mindset of the customers that gamble. An easy example would be the employee pretending pushing the others to play with him and the like. Just let them be a normal employee, there are cams all over the place after all so any suspicious activity could easily be seen, as long as no blindspots are made that is.
4208  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addict steals $6 million of client funds to fund his gambling addiction on: June 22, 2020, 07:32:51 AM
Props to this man for confessing what he did. Seemingly, all involved users that the addict stole from has already been reimbursed of the amount stolen, so really, the situation of him confessing and giving himself up could never be more beautiful than ever. It is a sad thing that it went up to $6m before he confessed, but if you looked at it optimistically, at least he confessed. This pretty much stopped future damages from occuring PLUS the company he was working for (AMP) managing to fix the problems he did quickly and efficiently.

Still, his way of stopping his addiction was going to jail was interesting to say the least. To be honest, stealing and asking for loans when one is a gambling addict almost has no difference in my eyes. It's just like you're covering up your crimes with the word "legal" which really defeats the sense of it.
4209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: John Cantrell revealed how he successfully hacked bitcoin wallet on: June 22, 2020, 06:43:30 AM
You should link this article, not that one. That didn't even explain how John Cantrell brutforced the mnemonic when he had 8 out of the 12 words. This basically reveals that, if you aren't an idiot, don't spread your private keys and seed phrases. Grin. It's not even hacking at this point, change the title to instead "Guessing the menmonic of a bitcoin wallet". Probably a lot better. Calling it "Hacking" is like insulting all the hackers out there that have hacked various systems, from a school based system to bank account systems.
4210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: JPMorgan Says Bitcoin Crash Survival Shows It Has Staying Power on: June 22, 2020, 05:53:34 AM
Sadly, they only view it as an investment of sorts, not what it was intended for, an anonymous way to be used as a transaction. Just goes to show how Bitcoin is indeed getting famous by the day, but also deviating from what it's supposed to be. Still really, we don't really need banks or any FUDsters in the past to believe us, Bitcoin has stood strong for a decade, withstanding all their shitposts about how Bitcoin isn't going to last and the like. Banks are fools, Bitcoin rules Grin.
4211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does this Pandemic intensifies the usage of Bitcoin? on: June 22, 2020, 05:24:53 AM
Pandemic effects reveal the efficiency of a cashless society, but not a crypto usaged based one. Most of them use digital fiat, and hell, even with that, those without access to those still use physical fiat to transact. Talk about the usage of Bitcoin when people actually coin it as a currency instead of an investment.

according to google  https://www.pymnts.com/cryptocurrency/2020/pandemic-sparks-mainstream-interest-in-bitcoin/
the mainstream sparks interest because of this pandemic.
Interest doesn't mean usage. Besides, the article you linked doesn't even have an inkling of connection to the mainstream interest said in the title. Just scanned it for a bit and it basically talked about the recent swings in price of BTC, which again, does not mean an increased usage nor is it a spark of interest on Bitcoin for the usage adoption.
4212  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: "Poker Tournaments" are reopening little by little. on: June 22, 2020, 04:47:46 AM
Do you think this will bring a huge development or improvement in a Gambling Industry? Will poker be the only safest option to play gambling right now?
Why would it even bring a "development" when the current state of the Gambling Industry is actually experiencing a depression? Any type of gambling right now, as long as it's performed outside and with other people, is equally unsafe. Not one game out there is safer than others, and that's pretty much the same even outside of gambling. As long as you go outside, you have the risk of being infected.

Although, it is not that safe to play and go to a physical casinos, it is good that staffs are still prioritizing safety for all.
This is probably the only way for people to even start going to physical casinos, hence them prioritizing it. Opening in the next few months isn't all that impossible, as long as the pandemic was properly quarantined for the last few months. Hopefully, no additional waves come in so that people could get used to the new Normal right now.
4213  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Futures trading on: June 21, 2020, 04:50:23 PM
Well I appreciate your effort recommending me a platform to do future trading.

But from now on I think I should do it on Binance since it got a better reviews, actually it's my first time on binance trading.

Goodluck to me !
Binance is pretty good, if you're going to look past their KYC requirements. The concept itself isn't that difficult though it may take some time adjusting if you're just starting up. Just read up on what futures is and how it works, Binance has a guide for it IIRC Grin. You can also try some Free training simulators about futures/trading so you can prepare yourself for what's what. I myself am using Futures in Binance and so far, it's pretty easy and interesting. once you understand what thing does which, you just got to study the market and that's basically it.
4214  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What you don't know about Technical Analysis on: June 21, 2020, 04:11:00 PM
This basically clarifies how TA's aren't gods, they aren't time travellers that came back in time to show the future of the market prices. They aren't all knowing and therefore, should not be the basis of your judgement when trading Grin . Even if we do say that a TA's judgement is based on analysis of the trends and facts, it still remains as fact that a TA's judgement is just purely prediction.

In the end, the chances of you hitting it off with a trade is 50/50 for all chances. Win or lose, no TA could lessen that. Even if you say that someone was going to make a big move, it remains that the big move does not guarantee a more than 50% chance of it successfuly moving the market as you predicted.
4215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another bitcoin scams hit Canada on: June 21, 2020, 03:49:38 PM
I honestly don't understand how people can still fall for it. Honestly, even if the phone call indicates something similar to an authority asking for payment, I'd rather offend the guy and then clear up the situation. I'm pretty sure they themselves know about the fraudulent spread of scams here and there, and trying to make sure of something first and foremost is pretty understandable. Especially if they are asking for a large amount of money, or even a small amount, but for longer terms.

The news is misleading, that would ruin bitcoin's reputation because in the first place bitcoin is not scam.
Why these media are dragging bitcoin into negative news, they could have make a different title like "Ponzi scam using bitcoin" or anything but not this title posted by OP. Scams are everywhere, people has to be educated to prevent themselves into falling this kind of scam, that's the only weapon we need to have so these scammers will not succeed.

TBH, the title of the thread was really catchy that's why I opened this thread, but misleading as I said.
It is still related to Bitcoin since firstly, they use the name of Bitcoin "investments". For all we know, those being asked are actually misunderstanding Bitcoin as a sort of "company" that is asking for investment. The details of the "investment" wasn't really released so I just assumed, but there's still a chance after all. Ignorance is something we all know about, and something abundant most of the time whenever someone gets scammed.
4216  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the Best Bitcoin wallet? on: June 21, 2020, 02:43:31 PM
Neither of the two is the best. The best one to get when it comes to just hodling Bitcoin would be no doubt Hardware wallets. You can see it just based on how much people are actually recommending it instead of the two choices you gave out. Since you're mostly just recieving/holding Bitcoin, you might as well get a Hardware wallet. It's a lot safer in the long term and this way, you can't blame the exchange when they get hacked. Still, if you have no choice and don't really have a chance to use a hardware wallet, within the two choices you gave out, use Blockchain.com. As long as you don't regret anything by storing it there though.
4217  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Chess on Sports/eSports betting on: June 21, 2020, 01:48:42 PM
Chess is a good sport, but it's slow paced. Way too slow paced. And by slow paced, that even if the game only lasted for 30 minutes, you'd still feel bored of the slowness of the movements of the board. You can even expect to see casters of chess tournames to run out of words to say, why? Simply because the board hasn't moved for quite some time. And imo, enough time for them to describe every advantageous move possible. It's fun to watch streamers play against pros on their free time (while waiting for queues), but that's about it. I mean, even viewers get bored when they only watch the streamer wait for the queue to pop up. But if you were to watch chess solely in its full essence? Only a select few would appreciate it imo.

There's also the issue of how they show the board on a 2d screen, like it lacks appeal. Of course, I'm not saying that making it 3d would make it look better, but you get my point.
4218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the best welcome offer for you? on: June 21, 2020, 12:51:53 PM
The best welcome bonus is free money for us to play! But usually as long as the website is good and reputable there's no need. And I think welcome bonus is often get abused by other users, Instead of welcome bonus make a reward platform! if a user will reach a certain wagered amount then, they are going to win money. I think it's more fun and attracting that welcome offer for us. But that's just for me  Grin In conclusion, Free money is the best welcome offer  Grin
4219  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Those that hate risks! on: June 21, 2020, 12:28:50 PM
How do you plan to live a life without risking? Good thing about trading and gambling is that you risk money, and money can be earned in many ways.
Those that hate risks and play safe have much lower chances to make something big in their life's, one's who risk have more chances for that. Risk is everywhere around, in all the things we do, I don't advise people to risk all the time, actions can be calculated, risk can be lowered with more knowledge and experience. Sometimes you need to risk to make profit, in some situations its better to sit and wait.
It's hard to talk about risks in general, even harder to apply some definitions on all the people, each of us is different. Education, learning, practice is what is needed for a person to be able to recognise a moment and to choose appropriate actions for that unique situation.
I will simplified it for you mate.

There's two type of risk on what you say. The one is gambling and the other is for trading. So basically,

  • The gambling part: The risk there is always 50/50. It's either win or loss and it's a pure luck!
  • The trading part: The risk there can be lowered if you are gonna study and gain more experience.

So if you are going to choose your path make sure that pick the risk that can be lowered if you are going to apply hard work! Risk is dangerous, but it's part of the life and that is needed to be take if you are aiming high in this life.
