Hello,
I am new to counterparty and just started getting into it. First things first. Is there an actual client I can easily run on my own machine instead of using this web wallet thingy? I don't feel comfortable with this web based thingy.
The desktop wallet is being developed. We'll keep you all posted on the progress Hey, I still haven't gotten into XCP since this has been missing last time I was looking for it. Are there any new regarding this?

Are there any new regarding this? "Moving forward, one of our priorities will be the development of a desktop wallet. The first version is expected to be released this month, with the application framework and basic features already developed. You can monitor the development progress on GitHub in our counterparty-gui repository. As always, we’ll keep you updated on all major milestones." I think there's been some discussion about this before but is there any way to enable 2FA on counterwallet? I know that the passphrase itself is very secure but I worry about the potential implications if someone has malware etc on their computer.
Well, it's all handled client-side so I imagine that would be a bit tricky. But there is multi-sig. yes MS, but someone would need to open up a wallet service, and then of course they would need a revenue stream to pay for that infrastructure. how many counterwallets are there now according to the the stats? 5000? I know i have created minimum 10 myself... womp womp How would this work in practice? Would the wallet service sign the other multi sig transaction? you have 1 key the wallet service has 1 key there is a key that can only be accessed via 2FA that is hosted by the wallet service (or some kind of service/cloud), perhaps the msg containing the 2FA code needs to be signed by your privkey... so if you lose your device, the wallet service and you can still access the funds in the wallet using your privkey and the wallet service privkey i think this is what Thomas/Electrum have been working on (but without the wallet service piece), not sure how advanced it is https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/blob/master/plugins/cosigner_pool.py

IIRC it was issued by Swarm, and you don't need to do anything with it if you've already got your stake.

Anybody notice a XCP protocol based coin: Tilecoin? they claimed they will complete micropayment and Internet of things applications and Dapp Project. One last positive note. We have been in contact with https://thingful.net/ to test the micropayments enablement for data acquisitions. Regards, ASIC-8Tile

I believe it's tickets to go to SWARM events and/or VIP. You should message the guys at http://swarm.co, not Counterparty (since they aren't the ones issuing that asset). Counterparty only provides the technology for the platform on which assets are issued and traded. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=664071.0

Hi devs, there are rumors that Medici will not (anymore) be built on Counterparty and Overstock is "talking" to some other parties!? Whats the deal here? :\

Watched that vid 2 days ago, nice to see a few NXT regulars catch sight of it and take the initiative to share with the crypto community. Could you point out the section where Patrick Byrne let's it slip that Medici will not be built on CounterParty after all?

Just looks like someone found a slick way to make 30-40% profit when price bounces tomorrow. Of course it's 1-4 AM in the US when everyone is asleep and cannot respond.
Very clever.

Around (00:30:00) he hints that he is in talks with other parties (not XCP) for Medici. It isn't clear statement but doesn't look like XCP has any firm deal. It probably won't be XCP. My guess is it' probably ethereum.

Counterparty will have 100% compatibility with all Ethereum features, and its secured by the Bitcoin network. What would be the motivator to switch to Ethereum? It's a very exaggerated reddit title.

My observation tells me, he is distancing himself ever-so slightly for some reason, and/or hedging his position with Counterparty, somewhat. His facial expressions when he says "other...."etc, seems to express slight pain. Like i said, just an observation.

People that know how business is done won't believe that a CEO agrees to lose even a small part of the control they have.
Just a reminder...

Looks to me like someone has convinced him that a different approach, not using CounterParty is better, but that he's still not comfortable with going back on his original plans or perhaps doesn't quite trust the new alternative as much as he trusted the CounterParty solution. What I'd like to know though is what the CounterParty devs are going to do if Medici does use an alternative? Didn't a couple of the main devs take a job working for Medici, whilst promising everyone that they were still working on Counterparty because the two will work together? I remember there was a bit of a panic from some people until they managed to convince everyone that they weren't really leaving. These guys need to leave Medici immediately if it becomes clear that Patrick isn't using CP, because otherwise it will look very much like CP is being abandoned with an incomplete dev team.

Yes, Might expect more downwards price-movement when the news trickles On that note, If anyone would like to sell XCP in batches, without hitting exchanges, you're welcome to PM for a quick sale.
