381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how do we sell our token on: November 08, 2017, 07:40:26 AM
hi would like to know how so we use or sell our ICO token ?

Which token are you looking for to sell? If ERC-20 based tokens, you may use Etherdelta. It's not exactly user-friendly but it a very good and reliable decentralized exchange which list every kind of ETH-based token.
For Waves-based tokens, you need to wait they are listed on other exchanges.

Anyway, you can look here on coinmarket cap: https://coinmarketcap.com/tokens/views/all/
Click on the token you wanna sell and then on "markets". You will find a list of all exchanges which list such tokens...
382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ERC20 Tokens airdrop list on: November 07, 2017, 07:55:53 AM
This is a real gem for airdrop hunters! you put all the infos in detail, all the requirements users must have and all the dates of incoming airdrops. Thank you for your effort...
383  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Has the btc to alts migration started? on: November 07, 2017, 07:48:38 AM
Today btc is going down and a lot of alts are rising. Do you think it will be a trend also in the next days? I imagined that would happen after the 2x day. Thank you

I would not say there has been an actual migration so far. Maybe some one just convert their BTC into fiat currencies because of BTC high price. Nothing so strange although the could be a fork when people can get new coins for free. But many maybe just wanna realize now because they need money.
BTC dominance is still high, although not as high as it was one year ago...
384  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: about altcoin on: November 07, 2017, 07:44:34 AM

I'm new here, I want to ask. what altcoin is good for investment?

You need to do your own due diligence. Research about altcoins, search for as many infos as you can get (about team, project, roadmap, etc.), look at the charts and never be caught in pump and dump schemes!

At the end of the day, you are the one who put the money to invest, so you are the only one who should decide which coin you have to invest in. If you ask people here on bitcointalk, or facebook or on reddit, many of them just shill the coins they own.

I joined your campaign. When will you add personal text and avatar anyway?
386  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: plzzz!! help me!!!!!! on: September 16, 2017, 06:46:36 AM
Can anyone please give me some information about campaigns'??
What is a campaign ? How do we get bitcoins by posting or by joining a campaign!!??

with signature campaigns basically you display an ad in your signature space and get paid for doing it. You can find list of campaigns here and here.

Yet keep in mind most campaigns managers don't accept newbies, so you first need to grow your rank and become at least junior member to join one...
387  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to earn Bitcoin without investment on: September 16, 2017, 06:42:13 AM
There are many ways to do it. One of the most commonly used on this forum is signature campaign; with it basically you display an ad in your signature space and get paid for doing it.

Then you can join Bitcoin affiliate programs, there are lots of them. With them, basically you get paid for every user you refer by your unique link. It is very good if you have a blog or a youtube channel with lots of viewers.

Also, you may try to do micro-tasks or sell your skills on this subforum: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=5.0

Good luck!
388  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a remote possibility that BTC won't get mainstream? on: September 02, 2017, 03:09:36 PM
First requirement of going mainstream as currency - solving the scaling problem. Otherwise Bitcoin will be a "digital gold" - expensive to move, suitable mostly as storage of value or used only for very expensive purchases.
We may be getting close to it as offchain and sidechain solutions are being developed, so this problem might be solved in a few years.
The second problem is regulation and competition - some governments might start actively opposing Bitcoin, banks will start offering their clients better deals to prevent them switching to crypto. Average people probably don't really care much about decentralization and financial freedom, they want fast and cheap transactions, which was the original promise of Bitcoin, described in Satoshi's whitepaper.

Totally agree with your point of view. If Bitcoin will remain a kind of digital gold it will never become mainstream, because it will be used just for investment purposes and investors (in any market) are generally a minority compared to the whole world population.
So Bitcoin can get mainstream only if it is used as a currency and a payment method. Otherwise, if Bitcoin will be used just for investments and speculation, it won't get mainstream. Never.
389  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NSA Identified Satoshi Nakamoto on: September 02, 2017, 03:05:43 PM
This is something very interesting because I though similar things some weeks ago, before even knowing similar programs by NSA. Studying the way a person wrote can be useful to identify "anonymous" people. Every one has its own way of writing.
It's basically a social engineering technique, which may use advanced softwares to get results faster. But even a single individual with LOTS of patience and free time can achive good results...
390  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Video from Kostroma (Russia) about Bitcoin cashing. on: September 02, 2017, 02:57:05 PM
Sorry but I don't understand Russian. What was their crime? And how is it related to Bitcoin anyway?
I thought Russia was a very Bitcoin-friendly country...
391  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase & bittrex need to make it safe on: September 02, 2017, 02:45:30 PM
I really want to apologize I'm just not that good at computers. I have ETH with Coinbase and i moved some over to. Bittrex  and now I'm going to buy some less expensive coins.  All that is going well I'm trying to figure out what is my best way to get this out of the exchanges because everyone says there not safe. I know this is been asked before but I feel really lost.  when you take coins how to put them off-line ?paper wallet?
Is there a cost that the exchanges charge you for moving them in and out ?

Yes, exchanges charge a fee for every withdraw you do, some for their own goals and some to cover network fees. Also, there are trading fees. Yet deposits are usually free of charge and you'll pay "only" the network fee.

Anyway I didn't understand well what you need to do. Do you wanna withdraw ETH to a safer wallet? If so, the most common choice is to use myetherwallet.com https://www.myetherwallet.com/.
392  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New Here! Hello from Los Angeles on: September 02, 2017, 08:10:05 AM
Hello bro and welcome to the forum. For meetups you can read here, here and  here.

About trading, my advice is to pick several coins which you think have great potential in the long run and just wait until the price will grow. There are many other trading strategies out there anyway, just pick the one you prefer. I also suggest to watch youtube videos about trading. There are many channel related to crypto-trading, for example Vincent Briatore, Chris Dunn and Data Dash...
393  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A fairer future to one at the path on: September 02, 2017, 08:04:42 AM
Cryptocurrencies are the best investments of all-time and still the best performing financial assets of the last 3 years. Assets with such charateristics are exactly what the richest and most powerful people are always looking for and exactly what the poorest of the poorest can only dream of.

Not only are these assets the best investments of all time and still the best performing of the last years but they are reducing governments power and redistributing them in the hand of the people. This is also exactly what everyone is looking for rich or poor.

Everyone is under the threat of a government. Everyone is trying to protect themselves and their wealth from governments' reach.

People who are already rich usually stay away from high-risk investments like cryptocoins or ICOs. They prefer to stay safer and invest their money in tools which they are pretty sure to not lose money on them. Cryptocoin actually are more for gamblers nowadays, they could continue to grow or not. The future is quite unpredictable...
394  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have an interesting question. on: September 02, 2017, 08:00:30 AM
Okay, so you see, I am all about breaking free from all the chains of all the governments and their banks that are watching our every move and every asset we own so they can tax the hell out of everything they can. But you see, if I put everything i have onto an offline wallet or in drive wallet and put it in a vault, or anywhere you guys can think of, what then would i do if something happens to that place where i stored my drive containing almost everything i have? What if a fire happens? A war? A natural disaster? That would mean i would lose everything i have! And the worse thing is, i can also not go putting money on online wallets because i just don't trust them.

I would like to see some thoughts. Thanks.

The answer is pretty simple. Electrum cold storage.

1. Put Electrum on an USB stick. Then copy the seed and the private keys to a sheet.
2. Repeat this process as many times as you want. You may put electrum on 3-4 different sticks and write seed and private keys on different sheets as well.
3. Memorize the seed in your mind.
4. Give the sheet with a seed on to a trusted person (if know one  Smiley) or put it in another place different than your house (maybe another house, or a car, you know it...)

If your house burns, you'll recover all your funds from the seed. Same for natural disasters. As long as you have the seed you can recover all your funds.

In my opinion the best you can do is to memorize your seed like a poem... repeat, repeat and repeat it every day until you will remember it easily. Everything could burn, be destroyed,or broke, except your brain...
395  Other / Off-topic / Re: Knowledge about starting a website like Bitcointalk.org? on: September 02, 2017, 07:36:57 AM
Well, bitcointalk is a forum. You need to know programming languages to make website, to know how hosting works and all that related stuff. Also, very important is security. Bitcointalk was attacked many times in the past and there's often this risk. If you wanna to make a large user base website you need to take care of users' security and privacy. No leak of information is allowed.
If you are not so savvy about that, you better hire experienced stuff. You don't need to start a company to run a website btw...
396  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 0.0005 fees = $50 at 100k btc ... use limit on: September 02, 2017, 07:32:59 AM

Is btc destined to become basically sovereign wealth? / store of value, which I admit is a massive killer app.......?

Yes, it is already becoming something like that. Mainly a store of value/digital asset which keeps growing in price. As a payment system it is becoming good only for large transactions, but definitely not for micro-payments. If you wanna buy expensive stuff, you'll be quite glad to use Bitcoin, because fees, confirmation time and other things seem quite better than banks or other online payments like paypal, but if you wanna buy small items, worth for example 10$ or less it is not a good idea to use Bitcoin because it's slower and more expensive than paypal, credit cards, etc.
397  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Old paper wallet... is my Bitcoin Cash safe ?? on: September 01, 2017, 09:11:45 PM
Hi All,

I have a few paper wallets I made back in 2015, totalling around 1 bitcoin. I have not accessed these paper wallets in over 2 years and have just left them.

1. Is my bitcoin still safe (I presume so)

2. Is my bitcoin cash safe ? (Can I leave my bitcoin paper wallets for another few years and the bitcoin cash still be safe and accessible at any time? )

3. My choice of wallet Exodus does not yet accept Bitcoin cash, so can I just leave my printed off paper wallets until bitcoin cash has more support and then redeem my bitcoin cash ?

Thanks for help

In short, yes, yes and yes.
But I wouldn't wait too much to redeem your Bitcoin Cash, if I were you. Because no one knows how much this coin will last, it could disappear even before "few years". So it's better to move more quickly. Yet, if you believe this coin (BCH) will last forever, well, you may wait at least another couple of years...
398  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I have a QUESTION on: September 01, 2017, 09:04:06 PM
So you see guys, i am really starting to like the idea of trading bitcoins and other alternative coins. And i really wanna try it, but sadly, I really don't know where i should start. Given the fact that i dont have a personal computer or a laptop. All i have is an iphone gifted to me by my sister. So my question is, can I do trading by using only my cellular phone? I mean, I can't have different kind of wallets for other coins because almost all new altcoins dont offer a wallet app for iphone. Should i forget the idea of getting into trading?

Yes, you can do trading even if you have just an iphone. No need to have a pc, although it would be better. There are many exchanges which have mobile versions, just be sure to choose the one you like the most. Then you don't need to download all the official wallets, you may just exchange's dedicated wallets.
Also, there is coinomi for mobile which is a good and reliable multi-currency wallet.
399  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Which exchange has the largest number of altcoins available? on: September 01, 2017, 12:43:28 PM
I think yobit has the largest number of altcoins available, but keep in mind most of them are just useless coins. Also coins are often removed due to low volume, etc. Yobit is a good choice for you anyway, also because they accept fiat money deposits. To deposit fiat you have the following options: Payeer, PerfectMoney, Capitalist, QiWi.
400  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is Satoshi? Why did he hide his identity? on: September 01, 2017, 12:38:01 PM
Why did Satoshi hide his identity? Has anyone seen Satoshi in real life?
Is Satoshi one person? Or is it a community?

My best guess is he hid his identity for security purposes. Governments, banks or even common criminal thieves could try to attack his life, steal his money or even kill him. It would be too dangerous to reveal his identity.

Another good reason, maybe, is that he didn't want to be under the spotlight. He liked to create a "stand-alone" currency, without the need of a leader, in the true spirit of decentralization. This way all the people's attention is on Bitcoin and not on its creator.
