21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][1000 SYNC] Proof of Stake now run by BLOCKCHAIN DEVELOPMENT COMPANY on: February 28, 2019, 10:25:42 PM
Is anyone interested in buying sync for $250 each? It's a good offer. Then I pay the host for a few months.

The bid of .001 btc is an accurate market price right now

I'd buy 10 for that, but I doubt there'd be any sellers. Most of us left aren't keen to sell by the looks of it, happy to watch it moon or die.

Moon or die, the main thing I think about are the POS requirements of having the node running, as that determines whether this coin is dead (albeit until the next nodes turn on, so more like frozen)

If we really want a slow minting process an Ethereum smart contract can do this alongside every SYNC transaction, restricted by a difference in blocks since the last time new SYNC was minted.

1blockologist, So you're saying that Yobit activated the Yobit code that you created for listing SYNC? If so, that is strange because they do that only when they are ready to list a coin...

I personally don't see any benefit of swapping to a token rn, especially if it's ERC20 token. Novaexchange doesn't support Ethereum based tokens so we will lose that exchange if we swap.

but many other exchanges support Ethereum based tokens

regarding Yobit I did their process, I don't remember the particulars of their yobit code system

My crypto companies planned for the worst case scenario and 2018 was the worst case scenario, this has impacted our tertiary activist ventures such as SYNC

I won't be actively on this project for some time, as the main project has to get to a further place development wise and deeper adoption. I bought a bit of SYNC from the community here with my own money, so there shouldn't be any questions about my resolve on this as there should have only been benefits of liquidity that would have never arised if not from my participation here.

Regarding Yobit, they totally did not reply after we did everything they asked and they still have the bitcoin from the community. I thought I posted the transaction here so I was unaware that there were any questions about that

You win some, you lose some

What the community can do is keep the nodes on, and keep the clients updated. One question I had in my mind is: Would the community be interested in a swap to a token? I liked the "~1,000 units" aspect of SYNC but right now we can't show the market how that works

Is there a working exchange? I could buy some at 0.035 BTC

I have some ideas for sync, who's still around?

holy shit did I just get overbid?

Can you tell us if there's any progress with the future of sync?

not right now, so I'm just offering some liquidity to people that may need it now at .02 sync/btc

but with Novaexchange back up I'll just place some orders and see who bites

I'll scoop up some more if any one needs liquidity

.02 btc each, how many SYNC are floating around these days?

Just HODL

Offer some support to get a venue of liquidity (exchange), such as making the html and BB code for the ANN post. Make it pretty.

It's good to see this project alive again. Hopefully, it can challenge Monero's dominance in 2018.

Following closely

I'm invested in a few other cryptonote underdogs, some of which are new issuances

Maybe I'll make a new coinmarketcap just for cryptonote-derived coins, to show Monero dominance %

Yobit arent the most professional exchange, im guessing they will eventually list though...its been paid for

Yobit Rules

New rules:
- bitcointalk topic only (!)
- max premine - 20%
- not accepted coins with newbie topic
- not accepted coins with text only topics
- no wallet builders
- nodes should be included in source code
- request can be declined if we don’t like your coin.

That's probably why it wasn't added to yobit yet.

ah hm, you mean we should add graphics or have a website?

Ah no I was still trying to accumulate more cheap Boolberry after I donated 20,000 BBR or so to b4h4mu7 a few months back!

Although I wanted to average down, I can average up, so lets keep it running! I'll put in some bigger bids and what.. worst case you sell to me? cool.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PRESALE] Pareto Network - The P2P Financial Content & Information Marketplace on: April 07, 2018, 07:14:01 AM
This is something similar to steemit in some way, isn't it?
I hope signing up on Pareto network will be easier, with no confirmation email and no personal info will be required...

thats definitely the plan.

P.S
No ive got 4 gigs of ram. The wallet did start giving me issues and i had to get into regedit and change some settings, its been fine since.

BBR uses a huge amount of ram, around 6GB on my system. So at least you have to use swap space, but better have a system with a minimum of 8GB mem.

This RAM issue will be resolved soon.  The LMDB development and testing is progressing ahead of schedule and the implementation has started.

https://github.com/cryptozoidberg/boolberry/commit/d32bf035d2bf89ff459cfacb6c3bfe5dd7336568

We are working on a detailed medium post to give an update to the community, which should be posted in the coming week.

Cheers!

and the kucoin issue?

I haven't heard anything back from Yobit, so sent them a support request yesterday
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BBR] Boolberry: Privacy and Security - Guaranteed Since 2014 on: March 13, 2018, 09:07:10 PM
Greetings everyone. Today I would like to introduce the first Boolberry Improvement Proposal or BBIP-001, entitled Boolberry V2: Efficient Compact Decentralized Anonymous Payments via Ring Signatures.

This is the culmination of roughly 9 months of research and development by my R&D group, Chainmasons, into improving the existing efficiency of the Boolberry variant of the Cryptonote protocol. We believe our proposed system is the 3rd iteration of the Cryptonote protocol as it represents a major leap forward for the underlying protocol not present in any other system.

Boolberry in it's current state is not quite ready for major improvements like this one until it's existing memory issues are resolved. Although, as we approach that eventuality in the coming month we would like to introduce this proposal so that it goes through the proper scrutiny and public peer review before being introduced as an upgrade to the system. We hope this proposal will be the first of many like it to help further research and development of Boolberry.

Any positive and constructive feedback is welcomed and will be credited in the "thanks" section located at the end of the draft. We will be submitting this for publication to IACR in the coming days so will appreciate any and all contributions. Additionally, if there are any misrepresentation with regards to the contents of the draft please inform us and we will fix them.

We hope that you enjoy our research and find it enlightening.

Here is the ePrint draft v1.0 –> http://docdro.id/rzmGj7b

CZ, I was really impressed by this paper when I reviewed it earlier, what are your thoughts on it?

Will a listing on Yobit get us back on Coinmarketcap.com?  We were listed there until approximately the time Nova Exchange announced it was shutting down.

~ AtlanticWaves

It will

but we have to

A) have over $1,000 - $50,000 in average daily volume

B) notify coinmarketcap

A quick update on Kucoin. We had a brief session with the team over the weekend. I just received an update from the exchange operator, Kent, that his lead engineer, Eric, is now working on the integration. If all goes well deposits and withdrawals will be open sometime this week.

What is the status of restoring a BBR wallet from seed?

Apple released APFS (Apple File System) last year in High Sierra. A wallet file generated in High Sierra, and copied over to Ubuntu will not open, even with the correct password. It would be nice to just restore the wallet from seed on either operating system.

Is this the FUD, someone not being in crypto asking specific questions to bother dev. So that is your first question in Bitcointalk?

There have always been a surprising amount of new accounts on the Boolberry rooms. I attributed this to the privacy focus and interest and that it is many of the same people.

Last I checked you cannot you can't restore a BBR wallet from seed

And there were also issues opening a copied wallet from different clients. Deleting the Boolberry files and resyncing from scratch solves it though.

The monerov snapshot is total amteur hour

Looks like thats the only way to snapshot fork a cryptonote coin

I think there are some things that could be done to make it more secure, if we were ever able to resurrect the doubloon snapshot fork
