61  Economy / Economics / Re: 2020-2021 best year if You Want to become rich no skills needed on: August 09, 2020, 08:53:12 PM
Its a best time for People to become rich.
Don't need skills just Invest in crypto stocks Gold and take Easy loans

I Think its a best time for People without skills or Much of Knowledge to become wealthy.
 Tongue

When times are hard and no money in circlelation then its hard for People without any skills or education to prospel
Now its a time When a lot money will be Every Where and People like me without skills or education Can Finnally become rich and wealthy

All years is the best one to make money and become rich. It depends on the opportunity everyone sees. I wonder what those who invest in the early years of bitcoin would say to those investing now because to them, the time to invest is about a decade ago and there is nothing anyone could do to turn around the hands of time.
62  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Average Congressman has nearly 60 years. Can those grandpas regulate bitcoin? on: August 09, 2020, 04:07:15 PM
I read a Twitter today about Google and Facebook regulations (which I couldn't find now). But this applies to cryptocurrency as well:

Quote
The average age of Members of the House at the beginning of the 115thCongress was 57.8 years; of Senators, 61.8years, among the oldest in U.S. history.
Source:
https://www.senate.gov/CRSpubs/b8f6293e-c235-40fd-b895-6474d0f8e809.pdf

People of those ages could easily be grandfathers. Do you think granpa could build the legislation for Bitcoin, Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies?

Bitcoin is already big enough and conquered it space.  And bitcoin is not in war with regulators (at least not yet), but imo regulation will have to adapt to bitcoin, and not the opposite.

Unfortunately, not all law making evolves around bitcoin because there are very sensitive national issues in areas of technology, security, economy or even wars that needs to be made by the experienced mind that are in the law making office of the land across the world.

Yes with legislations around bitcoin might come with certain challenges because of the age of those in charge as it is likely to come as a challenge to their way of life, then it's on the young people to explain to them via actions and proposals the advantages of any technology they want adopted. Another alternative is also for them to start grooming themselves to take over because whether we like it or not, those old people were once young.
63  Economy / Economics / Re: Exclusive Tax Proposals On American Billionaires on: August 07, 2020, 12:48:26 PM
From the look of it, I think the taxes are targeted at individuals rather than their businesses but that does not justify the reason why they should then be stifle out of existence just because they were able to take risks others wouldn't take or they are more strategic in their decision making than other people.

The rich people should actually be given some allowances because their wealth is not just one sitting in bank accounts nationwide rather its tied in businesses and companies that continues to pay taxes and even provides employment to thousands of direct employees and more thousands of indirect employees.

64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Goldman Sachs are eyeing to create their own digital asset! on: August 07, 2020, 12:15:10 PM
A news just popped in about newly appointed Digital asset global head Matthew McDermott is interested and firm to embrace blockchain and digital assets.

"We are exploring the commercial viability of creating our own fiat digital token, but it’s early days as we continue to work through the potential use cases," he said.

In addition, he also expanding their team by hiring Oli Harris as their head of strategy. Mr. Harris is known for the launching of JPMCoin last year JPMorgan's digital asset. Seems banks are coming in. I wonder if these executions will be a threat to our precious BTCitcoin.

Not sure if this is the right thread for this topic. If Im wrong please kindly inform me or report for moving to appropriate thread.

Of course eventually major banks will join into the moving trend in other for them to ensure they feature in the future. On the concern whether they are threats to bitcoin, I don't see that happening because it means that we will have several of these banks backed coins and eventually polarised the space which would make it no difference that what we have currently that each bank operating its business looking to acquire more customers as much as they can and they continue to compete with each other and bitcoin would remain standing.
65  Economy / Economics / Re: Virgin Atlantic Goes Bankrupt, Bailouts? on: August 07, 2020, 09:34:37 AM
The impact of coronavirus is second to none and one of the most hit businesses is the airline industry and Virgin is not the first airline to fold in recent times. But looking at the impact of those who will be affected, then its ok in my opinion that the government should offer them bailout. It is essential that the impact on the people working there is a key thing and bailout in itself is not free money as people have come to believe rather its a loan with relaxed conditions and at this time, every help is needed in other to help the economy get back on its feet.
66  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Is Best Course Of Action? on: August 06, 2020, 01:51:52 PM
Just a question to ask for advice. Right now with all the markets they way they are. Bitcoin is always in the upward in the market.  Of course it has periods of going down. But crypto market is doing quite well in these times.

I am asking what is the best course of action?

Should I just keep buying and HODL and keeping my Bitcoin for a rainy day?

Or is trading is back and forth to stable coins and trying to make more gains a good action plan too?

Need suggestions and advice. thanks

A lot of people I am sure would have expressed their opinion on the subject matter but if I am in your case and to make that decision, I would take my eyes away from BTC yes it's the highest but the percentage increment is a concern for me and as an investor, the ROI is a very potent factor. So, other coins ROI would surely bring more return than bitcoin both in the short run or long run in my opinion.
67  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: My bitcoin is frozen at Paxful and they won't let me withdraw it on: August 05, 2020, 12:26:41 PM
If you still haven't asked for a legal advice, there is Silver Miller. They are based in US, offers a free consultation and most cases are contingency-fee basis according to them. They were involved in cryptocurrency related cases like bitconnect, cryptsy, coinbase, you can find more on their site or by searching for their articles in coindesk, cointelegraph, etc..

Also worth mentioning that the idea of you seeking for legal options may send paxful on their toes and start working on resolving your case. It worked in some exchanges.
Thank you so much, I am looking for these all days. I have contacted them, hope will get answer back soon

I was actually looking forward to see the part where you will then say the issue has been resolved but unfortunately it has nit happened. I have used Paxful before and never had any issue with them and come to understand that the procedures they have put in place is to protect both the buyer and the seller. But with this case and since it shows they are not willing to do the right thing, then its time for you to also go the extra mile.

I am happy that you are looking to explore legal options but looking at the amount involved, except the lawyers you are engaging are doing something close to probono, it might not pay well. Another alternative and cheaper one for me is to engage them on social media and get people to retweet as much as possible to get their attention.
68  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on new ATH on: August 05, 2020, 12:07:17 PM
What are peoples thoughts and expectations on the next ATH. Obviously impossible to predict I'm just curious to hear what others expect. Some have made the point that the trough to peak has reduced 20%-30% although there could be other factors this time round that push the price higher

Will the economic fallout from covid create a perfect storm?

Will more adoption be significant

Institutional interest

What are peoples thoughts and expectations

I think its too early to be having thoughts about a new ATH simply because the last ATH has not been broken yet and the joruney to that is still very far for one to start having thoughts over. I am sure people who bought when the price was $20,000 would have a separate understanding about what ATH is all about and they are the ones that should be the deciding factor in determining whether we have reached a new point or we are looking to achieve that.
69  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kobe Bryant's death has been used for scamming. on: August 05, 2020, 09:50:02 AM
I have seen an article that talks about the death of the legendary NBA player Kobe Bryant which has been used for scamming people.
Quote
Hackers are attempting to profit from the death of Kobe Bryant by hiding malware within downloadable pictures of the basketball legend.

Researchers at Microsoft Security Intelligence discovered that a desktop wallpaper of Bryant contained hidden software that secretly hijacked a person’s computer in order to mine cryptocurrency.

They called it as crytojacking worm. As expcted, scammers uses this opportunity to take advantage for scamming people. The growing trend has been found within images of various celebrities in recent months, often in the form of wallpapers that can be downloaded to a person’s desktop or smartphone.
Cryptojacking software was recently discovered within high-resolution images of musician Taylor Swift ad the actress Scarlett Johansson.
Cyber security firm Sonicwall registered over 50 million cryptojacking attacks in the first half of 2019, typically in the form of social engineering or other online scams similar to the Bryant malware.
Sonicwall said cryptojacking techniques were evolving but that it remained “relevant as a lucrative option for cyber criminals”.
Quote
“We found a malicious HTML file posing as a Kobe Bryant wallpaper that contains a coin mining script.”

Here is the source.

With the high number of cases that has been witnessed, its then safe to say its really not about Kobe Bryant rather its about the people who are using celebrities images to achieve their own selfish interest. I am sure that if there is another celebrity or event that would mean people downloading some huge amount of images across the web, they will still find a way to ensure that the malicious software is embedded in such. This is further a call to everyone to be weary of trends happening across the globe as that is the machinery they use in carrying out their own activities.
70  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Japan's Dormant accounts waking up finally on: August 04, 2020, 01:11:58 PM
Its actually not something anybody to be concerned about on the movement of accounts. I am quite sure that a lot of people must have bought bitcoin at the time when it was above $10,000 while some others would have purchased even higher than that and when the price crashed at the time, they just decide to keep it there and watch rather than counting their losses which is what they have done and now that the price has increased, it is expected that movement will happen.
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trillion-dollar financial group calls Bitcoin an "ambitious store of value" on: August 02, 2020, 07:39:48 PM
It does not matter the opinion of what anyone thinks of bitcoin, what matters is what the active players in the market reacts to. A lot of other people have said worse, countries have gone the route of banning, some other have criminalize the entire market while some others are ensuring they keep warning their citizens about the danger of the market. So, if this group are coming with this conclusion, it means that bitcoin has existed and important enough to get their attention which is the positive take away from whatever they might be trying to communicate in their report and published statement.
72  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More than 50% of bitcoins from Twitter hack have been sent through mixers on: August 02, 2020, 04:49:32 PM
I don't expect the scammers to do otherwise. Only a fool would steal money and not plan on how to find a way to spend it before even going ahead and now we are not talking about amount stolen on the counter or in the drawer which could run into several hundreds but thousands of dollars at this time. It's actually disappointing that situations like this is only making the case for those are the other end against bitcoin mixers as a way to hide their ill gotten wealth rather than what was intended for a way to promote privacy.
73  Economy / Economics / Re: Cash Is Trash on: August 02, 2020, 09:25:56 AM
Everyone was laughing on Ray Diallo when he said his famous phrase "cash is trash" on 2019 and they even laughed more when his hedge fund tanked 30% under water on early 2020. guess what, US stock markets are bullish again and on a stunning V-shaped recovery and Gold recently hit all time high and bitcoin of course in its way to break new price record. So, who's laughing now!. he was damn right.

Simply put that at some point he was presented to the wrong because of the happenings at the time which was in total opposite of what Ray Diallo was saying at the time and now circumstances has changed which made it seems that he is right but hey, circumstances can still change as well.

Saying cash is trash is way to the extreme which is not right because it means every money in banks whether physically or electronically is trash or the store on the street is worthless but that is not it because the perception of people is still very much strong in cash and some would say "cash is king"
74  Economy / Economics / Re: Philippines will drop as a Country, Economy on its worst! on: August 01, 2020, 11:11:04 AM
(I am a Filipino citizen)

We have the worst Government in this time of Pandemic, It's not all about the President but the Government as a whole.

what can you say about our situation for being the worst and also as the leading country on ASEAN that has a high  number of Covid Cases. It's been months already and yet, jnstead of recoveries we are getting most of it, and our economy is already falling. Or in other words, how will you react if you're one of us staying on the same country...

It's really crazy and I am not going to try to sugarcoat it because I am not living in the Philippines other than what is being reported in the news but you are there and you know where it hurts. The real issue is that most countries were not prepared for this kind of hit and the reason why some countries are still standing in the scheme of things is that they have developed enough to the extent of having an absorber for things like this but they are still taking the hit.

What can you do? I doubt if there is anything any individual can do other than take everyday at a time because these are trying times for everyone. This too shall pass is all we can hold for.
75  Economy / Economics / Re: US economy suffers worst decline as GDP contracts by 32.9% in the second quarter on: July 31, 2020, 04:59:10 PM
I don’t think anyone here will be surprised to read this that the US GDP has contracted by 32.9% in the second quarter, as we all know that this is the after effect of covid19, but what worries me is whether the US economy can actually bounce back this year, or even next year as Trump had claimed that the economy will definitely bounce back. Further in more worrying news the jobless claims has risen to 1.43 million people, and this figure doesn’t look good for the US economy in the long run. Lastly with Covid19 yet wrecking havoc on US economy what chances do you see of its recovery in light of these numbers?.

Whether next year or next quarter, the economy would continue to shrink or recover on a slowing rate that could longer for years except there is a sustainable way to manage the economy and countries get to do away with all of these proactive means of managing the crises. Vaccines development or drugs development that makes one immune to the virus that could fully open the economy is the only way out of this quagmire.
76  Economy / Economics / Re: i was right about the economy ! on: July 31, 2020, 02:16:39 PM
Since the beginning of this decade, the economy from every point to look at it has always been on a thin thread and every year after that, it has been surviving because it cannot afford to collapse as so many lives depend on it. 1929 cannot repeat itself for one reason that if there is anything the world learns, is that we are always evolving.

With the advent of COVID seems everything will come crashing but it won't because we will always find a way to survive.
77  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: is it difficult to get a partner in cryptocurrency deals? on: July 28, 2020, 08:01:33 PM
The real issue here is trust. Even in the outside world, strangers are not trusted. You don't join a group of people for the first time and they handed go all trusting. If that should happen, there is even need for concern. I can't imagine a newbie coming into the forum and the only contribution is expecting people to trust him just like that because he needs a partner. What the happen to earning trust first or understanding the community. I am sure long standing members of the forum have engaged in deals that goes beyond the forum because the trust is earned and not cheap.
78  Economy / Economics / Re: This is a total nightmare on: July 28, 2020, 02:30:00 PM
This is a total nightmare

Gold is now 1941.25 usd today
Euro value is increasing against the USD ...
What this means is that soon i will have to increase my prices to 5-10%...
BTC is now above 10200 usd ( How in the hell is going to buy btc ? if no one will have money to buy )
Govs are putting us out of business ...

I think i am moving from IT to agriculture (as i got some land ... ) ,there is no way my IT biz will survive like this ...

I really don't the bone of contention here. All these while, the price of bitcoin had been relatively constant for weeks it began to seem that there is no longer room for either development or increment and now the $10k barrier was broken few days ago and now there is still some concerns about how a government is trying to run the entire crypto enthusiasts out of business.
79  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some gamblers have been arrestes in Bangladesh for money laundering through bitc on: July 28, 2020, 08:00:57 AM

I sometimes sell BTC in local market through the help of some facebook group. I never felt that I am in risk but for the first time, it seems like we are actually risking ourself a lot of by selling BTC to unknown. What if they get a trace of ourself and link us with such transactions? Would we be also get punished? For your info, we had to use our mobile number to continue dealing.

Selling to unknown people actually puts you at risk which is one of the reasons why the noose around KYCs is on the rise. Its not always about stifling freedom but sometimes its about protecting that freedom which we have all come to enjoy. A lot of people have entered the crypto industry and continued to use the technology for nefarious activities and that has made the work of law enforcement more difficult which is why when they manage to get one or two people, they tend to use it as a means of sending message rather than punishment.

As a way to stay out of trouble, the best approach is either you transact with people you know or carry out transactions on reputable platforms although the rate might be lower than selling directly but its way better than having a run with law enforcement agents.
80  Economy / Economics / Re: Growing number of institutionnal investors on: July 26, 2020, 09:16:18 PM
Institutional money coming is a good one because any sector institutional money goes into, it comes with its attending advantages which points to the direction that the trusts is that sector is on the increase, expansion is happening, regulation is knocking and most importantly initiatives is going to be on the increase as well. Put all these together, an untapped areas in short year can become the bride of many but it comes with its costs too because the players might not play according to the rules thereby running everything to the ground then they move on to the next good avenue to continue the cycle.
