first bernankoin spotted on ebay Ooooooooooooh! What a good idea! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=201007370001http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=201007376819For those that are skeptical of crypto currencies like Bitcoin, but believe in the monetary and economic principles held by governments, such as the United States of America, and and those held by central banks, such as the Federal Reserve Bank, this could be the crypto currency for you. Since it's modelled after the Fed's policies, I figure a 1:1 BEK:USD exchange ratio is fair. Well, maybe a small discount for larger volumes. BWAHAHAHAHAHA~! To the moooooon!!! ┗(°0°)┛

BTC-e hands down for me. No contest there. It's reliable and works. Fewer coins, but large markets & reliability make it a stellar choice.
Cryptsy would be good if it worked, but it's useless for anything except total gambling on alt coins that aren't at BTC-e.
Too often at Cryptsy I have orders in that should get picked up and never do. This makes it impossible to use Cryptsy reliably, which is important if you want to make money or at least not lose money. One of my recent bids was for DOGE. There were 3 sell-offs that went below my bid and each time my bid got passed over.
I do like the massive number of alts at Cryptsy though. I just can't put more than a small amount in there and be comfortable.
If Cryptsy had the reliability of BTC-e, it would be my winning pick. Sadly, not yet.
I have yet to try Vicurex, but will be creating an account there soon.
Coinedup is unusable for me. It appears they're mixing HTTP in with HTTPS and charts won't appear except in Safari on my Mac where it ignores security settings that other browsers use. Other people have better luck.
Haven't tried Bter.

they will never reach 1$ per coin the max is 0.23$ per coin
$0.23 is just as arbitrary as $1. Remember, it's only 100 billion coins. The Fed prints 85 billion dollars a month. Dogecoins are extremely rare compared to USD. It could go well above $1. Who knows?

I mined DOGE early...
This is just hilarious! Just think about it... Dogecoin has been out for what? Less than 2 weeks? And it's taken off so fast that 2 weeks after is "late"? I hopped on board the first day as well. Though that was CPU mining, so... still a poor shibe!

Quick question... if instead of "mining" we are "printing", then instead of "blocks", aren't we printing "palettes" of BEK? Kind of like this:

I can't seem to login. Username: Renegade
The site logs me out continuously. Now I can't login at all.
Scratch that. Bizarre redirection back to the login page. I was actually logged in. Odd.

My printer seems to be broken or I've run out of ink as I'm no longer printing BEK.
How do I check the cartridge? Should I call a serviceman? Will any printer repairman be able to fix it? Can I use generic cartridges or ink refills?
EDIT: Looks like my printer came back online. Guess I'm just impatient. Thought I might have a paperjam in there or something.

And I've printed my first BEK! I'm overcome! Tears are streaming down my face! I'm printing BEK to save the economy, eliminate unemployment, stop the terrorists, and help the children!

WOOHOO~! I just downloaded it, created my first printing address: BbC1scY3M8v57WwcoU9NWcDYsSs226c4QQ And have started printing BEKs! I expect some to roll off the presses very soon! Very exciting! Now I know what it feels like to be a central banker! Can I use cgminer to print bernankoins?
No, the wallet is enough to print (same as primecoin). However we are working hard with EPSON, HP and Lexmark to bring out the first ASIPs. So could we try to get mining with jhPrimeMiner? My gut tells me "no", and that I'd have to rename the file to "jhPrime Printer", but that is should all be good after that. Right? The more printers, the higher the difficulty, the higher the reward? Correct?
So we will always be printing the same amount of coins so long as our hash rate stays the same?
Correct. I haven't been able to tweak it to be so smooth due to the weirdness of Primecoin's difficulty system; we're at diff 7.x and only diff 8.x will trigger the next round of Quantitative Easing. Difficulty is at 7.85688126 right now, so just a few more printers and we'll be at QE3! QE4ever, here we come!

buying 100k doges
@ what price? If he's buying now, they're CHEAP!

Yeah, haha how strange we were both so unlucky. However i think it will go insane when BTC comes back on track. If it can swim green against a sea of red today the sky is the limit. So i held my coins now anyway.
I think we may be waiting for a while, but... oh well. Such is crypto. But, like you, I'm in no rush to sell. Heck, right now I just wish that I could pay my bills & buy groceries with crypto. I could then get rid of fiat and buy up cheap bitcoins and dogecoins while the market is hemorrhaging with panic sellers.

Can you imagine an ecommerce site offering 100 forms of payment?
The way payment systems now are set up is simply idiotic. However, there's no reason that 100 currencies can't be supported by a payment system. Credit cards do foreign exchange, and you pay through the nose, but they do it. So how many countries are there where credit cards are used? There's little reason why a company like BitPay couldn't do the same. I would expect exchange rates on MeTooCoin to be pretty expensive, but for BTC/LTC, you'd get a decent rate, and probably better than you'd ever get from a bank for USD/EUR, etc. So if the MTC currency is expensive to use, fewer people will use it. If DOGE is relatively easy and cheap to use, more people will use it. I'd really love to see DOGE get up there though. It's just too much fun, and has the potential to attract more people simply through its "fun factor".

seems a strange thing to suggest, i only had to wait for 244 confirms whilst the price was high and then as soon as it dived my coins showed up fine? lol
Sigh... You and me both.

I've been using an encrypted volume together with Dropbox. What are some of the advantages that your solution offers?
Good question. I like having multiple backups, and it's small and fast enough to make that easy. The main benefit is speed and ease. But I'm not very keen on cloud storage. I've been burned too many times. Just absolute, complete nightmares that cost me dearly. So, I'm a bit on the "gun shy" side when it comes to the cloud. Add in the NSA factor, and I'm even less keen on it. I prefer local storage that I can control, or paid online storage where I have absolute control. (e.g. I might store an encrypted backup on one of my servers, etc.) Storing an encrypted backup on Dropbox (or some reliable cloud storage) is a good idea so that you have "off-site" backups. This doesn't offer that, but it does let you aggregate your wallets quickly so that you can then encrypt them in an archive and back that up to something like Dropbox. The program is obviously not going to address every need for everyone. My general thoughts are that it's good to have multiple backup strategies for critical data. This is simply 1 additional way to help backup wallets easily. Oh, and I've seen numerous people asking, "Where do I find my wallet.dat file?" This does that automatically. So, for people that have trouble finding their wallets, this makes all of that trivial.
