I don't think that Ethereum is better than bitcoin because if it is better than bitcoin then it should be at the top 1 and a lot of people will be discussing about how good ethereum is but there are no sign of that. Ethereum is just an altcoin which has different purpose compare to bitcoin. Every cryptocurrency has different purpose and usage and we should not try to compare them unless they are aligned in same category of usage.

Personally I think that what I can do if bitcoin is not bullish this year, is what I have been doing, see that altcoin can have better growth due to the time and invest, and trade with the first 5 CMC coins following the line of less resistance, to take the direction that the market directs and to begin trading operations taking strategic positions to establish the obtaining of benefits.
I think I like that your idea of trading the first 5 coin in top coinmarket cap while at the same time, buying other altcoins or coins with very good projects at dip anytime we have some little cash to spare when the opportunity arises. It’s just that the idea of trading some coins while HODL is only limited to those that have the knowledge of trading, not many people can trade, so they have no choice that to just HOLD and when price drops, they buy more pending the time, the market improves generally. By doing this, they will not miss much of the trader’s activities. It is better to do the opposite. You should trade the altcoins that has good projects because they are the one who has more volatility compare to the top coins in the overall market. You should buy the top coins for your long term investment because they are the one who are more stable than the other lower market cap altcoins that can provide you a steady profit in the long run. |

First of all, a very hyped ICO might be somewhat overpriced to begin with. Second of all I would try to look behind all the hype and focus on the core tech behind the coin/token and also the team behind it.
I also do that when i am investing in an ICO because that is the most important part of investing into ICOs projects. Do some checking first before putting any amount of your hard earned money so you will not experience any huge losses from investing. If i were you, i will not hold my investment anymore then my investment's worth goes down to $30,000. Holding it until now and not cutting the losses is a foolish idea. The main reason of the drop of prices in ico after the listing is due to the high demand of the ico coin and high expectations of the coin price growth so it automatically prices go down . If the ico coin putb restrictions on dumping of coin in exchangers then they can control the price to some extent
In my opinion, it is not only about the expectations and faced reality. After getting listed on the exchanges, the token price goes down for reasons like a dump by bounty hunters, huge sell pressure by private sale investors. For projects without bounty, it still decreases in bear market. I am paying attention to the HARA project, which is supported by Amazon, which has practical work in Indonesia. And now its price has decreased 10 times compared to ICO Look for that kind of project that is being supported by huge companies because there is a huge chance that the project is a good one for long term. No doubt bitcoin is the best option that price has good value in market, we can hold it with surety that price will continue to rise, holding gives us better result at the end.
