So how realistic is the September/October delivery frame? To my understanding ORSoC is a reputable company and I assume it would be considered highly unprofessional by them to deliver months late, yet I don't quite understand how they will pull it off unless they are already pretty far into the development process, and if they are, why have we not seen any proof/prototypes yet?

We changed domain registrar (to someone accepting bitcoin  Smiley ), that was the cause of the downtime. All sorted out now.

Will you stock laptops with Haswell CPU's when they are released in June? I am in the market for a new PC but I want to wait for Haswell.

We recently acquired a laser power meter to verify the output of our lasers. We found that often the specified powers were an understatement! Here's the result of the last 1800mW kit we sold, for example: http://imgur.com/rPFuupM

Finally! Most lasers are now back in stock.. But now we're out of green lasers. I really gotta streamline the stocking procedure somehow.

Yes, I've had several customers from Germany, no problems so far.

Awesome.

Do sell individual parts, too?

For instance, just the laser (with cooling) and the driver.

I could but it wouldn't be much cheaper than the whole laser unfortunately. The driver and laser module are the most work to build.

I have a cheap Chinese laser in pen form which I purchased recently. The warning label on the sticker says that it is <30mW.

I have read that it is unsafe to use without an 'ir filter', do you sell these things?

I do not sell IR filters, unfortunately. I've had some other people ask about it so I might start carrying them in the future. A 30mW pen would be unsafe in the case of a direct hit regardless, any eventual IR won't really matter much. The scary thing about IR is that you can't see it, so it burns your eyes before you even realize it. However, it's only really a problem with <5mW lasers because they are supposed to be considered safe, but a 30mW laser will damage your eyes, IR or not.

Do you have any experience with shipping them to Germany?

Yes, I've had several customers from Germany, no problems so far.

UPDATE on the stock situation: We should be receiving more circuit boards shortly, most lasers will be in stock then.

Around $600 owed here. ~$700 if you count the money lost in CC refunds due to bank fees.

Hey Grix, can you recommend some good goggle style OD3 safety glasses for the big blue laser?

I think these should work well: http://www.dragonlasers.com/Laser-Glasses-UV-to-Green-Lasers-Protection-190-548nm.html

Due to a combination of Chinese New Years which delays restocking, and lots of recent orders, we are pretty much sold out for everything at the moment. Sorry for the wait, more lasers should start arriving in a few weeks.

Green lasers are out of stock for a few weeks while I wait for more hosts to arrive.
320  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BTCFPGA/bitcoinASIC/CAN-ELECTRIC - no BTC refunds expected, what now? on: February 05, 2013, 07:50:38 PM
Still waiting for $530 in BTC or USD here. I have however received CC refunds. I want to press charges, but it would probably get nowhere, I don't live in the US and I suspect it's too small of an amount for the police to care.
