When I bought my saturn I picked it up in stockholm. They don't allow this apparently for the neptune. Can't say I'm looking forward to pay $3000 in import fees on top of the $10k price..

Most lasers that are not in stock already should be so within a few days. That is, except the 120mW 520nm green laser. We will do a little restructuring in our 520nm green lineup in the next few weeks, will probably replace the current one with several other new models, both weaker and stronger.

Well shit, I'm tempted to sell all my coins now, as my instinct tells me that the future will be exactly the opposite of what you say, based on your last prediction.
264  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Total Hashrate Forecast Q1, Q2 2014 (Community work) on: December 27, 2013, 11:42:13 PM
ASICMINER has said that their next gen hardware total deployment will be somewhere between 2 to 20 PHps. So not much help there. I think 10-15 Phps is most likely.

In fact I've used 15 Phps from all major companies in H1 2014, in my calculations. If that's accurate (which it probably isn't), the difficulty should be about 10 billion by summer. After that I think the difficulty will plateau.

https://www.kncminer.com/products/neptune-second-batch

One month gap.. means, one month gap between last miner of first batch and first miner of the second batch?

2014-Q2, June 30 second batch shipment starts, then that would be, all first batch miners shipped before May 31st.

If you do a third batch Q2 release announcement with one month gap from second batch, then this would push your first batch shipments by April 30. Smiley

Be a bit more clear guys.. great news, anyways.

They haven't promised anything, but in various interviews they have said that they expect to start shipping neptunes in march, after their "network protection period".

What news we have about the 20nm miners?

Nothing and I doubt we'll have anything substantial for at least a couple of months.

How much for a 1 BTC coin?

Great! Apparently I read wrong, I thought that laser was the cheapest one that could burn stuff, apparently it's the cheapest red one. I really want the violet one for the uniqueness but I'm not sure since it seems to have the worst visibility, although it is waterproof! Decisions, decisions. Also, are the glasses 100% needed? Even when pointing at the sky?
The green ones are the brightest. Second the blue ones. The glasses are your own decision. Never point it to someones eyes, not even a cat or a mouse. The eyes will be damaged!

Thanks for the info! Green ones are everywhere now a days so nothing really special, unfortunately the cheapest blue one is $140. I understand never to point it at anyones eyes, I wouldn't even do that with those cheap pen lasers. I guess the better question is: Will my eyes get damaged if I use the laser without glasses assuming I never point it anywhere near my eyes? Or are the glasses more for accidents?

The glasses protect against accidental direct hits to your eyes. It's not harmful to look at the beam or dot without glasses.

Any updates on when things will be available again? I'm interested in the 50mW Violet Laser.

I've been having long delays on parts shipments, probably because of christmas mail congestion. They should have arrived now. The status for almost all out-of-stock lasers are the same now: They could arrive any day. Maybe tomorrow, but maybe not for another week or two, I really don't know.

That's unfortunate, I guess I'll just wait a bit then, hopefully my bitcoin will be worth a little more also Tongue

The package arrived today! We now have the 50mW violet as well as most of the green lasers in stock.

Are these legal in the US/other countries? I suppose there is a reason they come disassembled.

I'm not 100% sure about american law. I believe they are legal to import as is (marked as parts), but I'm not sure if they are legal to own because they are not explicitly approved by the FDA. But as long as you don't use it in public, the chance of getting into trouble is pretty much nil. Many other companies such as wickedlasers ship to america even though they also are not approved by the FDA (they claim to be legal but it's not true: http://www.fda.gov/ICECI/EnforcementActions/WarningLetters/ucm234938.htm )

lasers are scary, can you go blind if a 25 or 50 mw laser hits you in the eye for 1 second and u look away.

Yes you can, lasers should be handled very carefully. Then again, guns and knives can do a lot of damage too, it's all about treating the objects with respect. 25-50mW will not completely blind you, but you can risk a permanent blind spot in your vision. I got lucky, a few years ago I got hit in the eye with a 30mW model, but after a few days it healed fully.

I think he means deluded in thinking they can ship on time.  The upgrade modules were over a week late after only asking in bitpay when the spot was $300.  That was annoying.  We seen a bull run forming.  They should've just waited to collect funds until they were ready to ship.

They can't wait until they are ready to ship to collect funds, they need the preorder money for NRE. Anyways, I see no reason to doubt that KNC will ship in time. My last order was delivered within promised time and not a single order was more than 2-3 weeks delayed afaik. And this time the promised delivery time is so vague that they have three whole months of slack to account for delays, and they also have more experience now. I'm very confident that they'll deliver in a timely manner.

Some super interesting stuff happening in the laser scene right now. The most powerful direct green laser diode ever has appeared on the market. 1 whole watt of 520nm! That would be an incredible sight. Unfortunately the diodes alone are $1000, but most likely they will drop significantly in price in some months. Also, a spec sheet for a 475nm (turquoise blue) 900mW diode has been leaked too. I can't wait!

PS: Stock level update: Most lasers should be in stock in less than a week. Green lasers might take longer, up to two weeks perhaps.

Are you looking at a different KNC news feed than I am? And the "early bird" folks back in June/July would dispute your estimation of the first batch, which was to ship/arrive in September.
What?
This post is entirely wrong.

I ordered a first batch saturn. I've been following their news closely, and I know that when I ordered one in June they said orders were expected to start shipping in september but all they PROMISED was to ship it before october 15th, AND THEY DID, I received mine on the 15th exactly.
275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: December 11, 2013, 04:32:23 PM
First Batch (with many unknowns): Supposed to ship in September, ended up in Oct/November.

Second Batch (with everything figured out): They were to ship in November, ended up first week of December.

This is kinda misleading. First batch were supposed to ship by Oct 15, and they did ship around half of orders before that date. They never guaranteed anything in september, it was just best case scenario. And second batch started shipping late november, not early december.

Just a little status on the stock levels:

Most lasers that are out of stock except green ones are expected to ship shortly anyways, within a week or maybe two. Green lasers however can take a little longer, up to three weeks, but possibly sooner.

Grix

That link doesn't work.

At least not on my iPhone.

Well, here's what it says basically:

Code:
Infection Blocked
URL: http://imageupload.co.uk/files/za1z84jpkvd9uo18uoed....
Infection: URL:Mal

Solution?  I was about to wipe my computer.

I don't see a reason to do a re-install at present.

Malwarebytes is just being over sensitive, when you pay for a anti-malware solution, they have a legal obligation to 'protect' you.

Sometimes these companies get things wrong, because they must protect their customers. Lets also say that they can sometimes have other interests as well.

There might be a genuine problem, but at present I can't find anything or it might of been removed already, but I'm not an admin. wth server access either.

Looks like a 'false alarm' to me though.

Pretty far fetched that two independent antimalware programs simultaneously gives a false positive, isn't it?
