So, you want to trust theymos to protect people from their own stupidity? Did I got that right?

There's not that much info about him on the Internet, at least not much visible from some cursory searching.

Bad job sherlock.

What info are you finding? Sure, he appears to have a website which lists some personal preferences, an inactive twitter account, a Wikipedia user page which lists more personal preferences, and some references to his email/AIM/ICQ accounts. That's not very useful information for establishing trust.

And why do you need to trust him that much, may I ask?

Great, every layperson will associate Bitcoin as the thing they had to pay for to pay off those hackers!

Not good!

I think it's very good that it was easier for such laypersons to buy Bitcoin than to buy a Moneypak denominated in EUR or USD, but what the fuck do I know...

I bought ~1.1 BTC using Multibanco some time ago, via https://btc.pt

Parasitic 8% fee though.

23% of which is tax(VAT). And you get your Bitcoins in 10 minutes or less in most cases.
Disclaimer: I work for BTC.pt

BTW, curado71, there is a section on the Portuguese forum where you can post as a newbie. It's called "Novatos". BUT, you're already a Jr. Member and you can post wherever you want.

Não gosto daquela "Renda" que atravessa o para-brisas!! Faz-me lembrar os naperons da minha querida avozinha!

É pra limpar a mostarda dos beiços depois de comer a bifaneca, ou no caso desse holandês talvez um frikandel.

Even if you pay, there is a chance that you won't get any decryption key. After all, customer service is not exactly what these guys are up to, as most of their customers don't want to deal with them in the future again.

Word on the street is that the dudes keep their word for better or worst. You pay up on time, your files get decrypted. You pay late by 1 minute or don't pay at all and you're screwed, it just uninstalls itself and leaves you with a bunch of encrypted files.

10000 BTC pizza, anyone?
I myself have a kindle fire that costed 40 BTC(back when they were worth ~ €3 each).
We will not listen to silly journalists and we'll just keep on spending our Bitcoins and earning more to spend again.

195  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Found old Bitcoin wallet on: November 10, 2013, 04:42:56 PM
You should start Bitcoin-qt with the -rescan flag when you "give" it a new wallet, or else it won't see the transactions.
The fact that "your bitcoin address" shows a balance of 0 means nothing. If you sent 1 transaction the remaining funds might be in one of the change addresses.

198  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Will Mt Gox Work if I live in Portugal? on: November 10, 2013, 11:10:27 AM
Wondering if anyone knows if cashing out from MT Gox is easy if I live in portugal? I know it doesnt work for USD but for Euros? Thanks

Cashing out fiat from MtGox is not easy. Doesn't matter where you're located, you'll always wait weeks(5 or 6) for your money. But if what you meant is if you can have a verified account easily, yes you can. My gf and a couple of friends have fully verified MtGox accounts.
PS: I live in Portugal.
