I have a quite a few pieces, some for sale some I would probably want to keep.  Most come with original certs + email/paper receipts from artist or gallery.

Pieces that looked creased are just in an acid free art folder and are in perfect condition.

If there are any pieces you like I can take better pics along with my username + date on a bit of paper alongside, Escrow with any of the bigger hitters here is also ok with me.

Henrik Uldalen, Original oil on glass.  This one isnt cheap and is the first ever colored skin picture produced by the artist.

Also, I clearly state in my raffles that the winner is responsible for local customs and duties which I feel should be standard

No complaints here, fully expected to get hit with a charge was just hoping it would sneak through unnoticed Smiley
284  Other / Politics & Society / Re: eliminate fake news on: February 24, 2018, 06:45:32 PM
Mainstream media pumps out just as much if not more fake news than any alternative news source.

The problem is they are controlled by people in power to promote an agenda, remove alternate news sources and they crap they churn out goes unchallenged or stories they wish to cover up will never see the light of day.

I was under the impression that within EU there would be no additional VAT charges, no?

VAT is payable on silver.  I got hit with a £18 charge on the 150g silver proof panda I won here :

-snip

If everything is done by you can you explain to me how you can operate an auction at a net loss? Assuming you pay the 20% VAT on the gold and the 20% VAT on the silver
Is this your problem?

How will you handle the vat then? As that is payable on import. I hate to agree with killyou but they do have a point for once.

It's not great form to raffle or auction something that isn't in your possession and saying you will handle VAT charges is slightly silly as you don't know each countries individual tax laws. For instance I have had to pay VAT on gold imports into the UK on multiple occasions

All in all this isn't a good looking raffle fella

Tman. There is no VAT due on investment gold into the UK.  Only silver, platinum and palladium.

All you should have had to do is sign a disclaimer stating that is investment gold for customs and excise.  If the shipping company did charge you then you can claim it back.  I am 100% certain on this (speaking from someone that had 9 X 1kg gold bars shipped in to the UK from Canada + coins from the US, Australia, Spain and France.

The gold would be ok shipped to the UK.

The silver coin would be subject to VAT @ 20% + a processing fee.

It would be worth specifying in the original post that the winners are liable for any fees or taxes due.
No, everything is paid by me.

-snip

Why Would that be? The OP says shipping is free,
Yes, shipping is free.

-snip

What does this mean? Not having a pop fella, just want to know is this still at the supplier or another of your warehouses? How soon after the raffle will the items ship?

Killyou is a dick sometimes but the questions from him are valid here
Items are in the warehouse of a supplier, it will be sent after 3 days maximum.

If everything is done by you can you explain to me how you can operate an auction at a net loss? (espically since you do not even own the items and have to purchase them) Assuming you pay the 20% VAT on the gold and the 20% VAT on the silver

are you just hoping a USA resident wins?

There is no VAT on gold only silver.

The silver panda coin is with roughly around £175 so £35 VAT + around a £15 handling charge.  He has around a £300 profit margin so can cover shipping + fees and still be £200+ up.

Remark:
Coins are in another tier warehouses

That statement makes no sense in English though

Total auction value = approx £300 over the value of the goods on offer.

He could be using the auction proceeds to purchase the goods and pocket the difference, nothing wrong with that but asking a for a real picture of the goods upfront isnt asking too much if he actually owns them currently.

291  Economy / Speculation / Re: I BUY GOLD OR BITCOIN? on: February 23, 2018, 10:41:35 PM
What's so good about gold?

Gold price 10 years ago, $950, Gold price today $1300, about a 37% increase, inflation over 10 years = 16.72%, result = about 20% gain in 10 years, average of 2% per year in terms of a store of wealth, a 5% savings account while compounding profits each year will get you, after inflation roughly 46% profit, over 2x more than gold
BTC in 1 month can get better returns than gold over 10 years.

You seem to forget Bitcoin can also turn your $20k savings into $10k in a few days too.

Banks can fail and steal your money.
Cyprus banks for example took up to 60% of peoples savings.
New laws have been introduced in many countries where you are classed as an investor in the bank when you deposit cash and its no longer your money.
People think that because there is a quoted guaranteed  protected deposit figure e.g in the UK up to £85k they are safe.  This is bollocks as if a major bank or a few smaller ones folded there just is not enough money in the protection scheme to cover the loses and refund people.

The strongest benefit of gold is there is zero 3rd party risk.  You hold it, you own it.  No computers, networks, internet, electricity, financial institutions required.

Gold is not really meant to moon, its is traditionally a stable way to maintain your wealth through multiple generations if required.  The added benefits for gold currently are international uncertainty e.g. North Korea could kick off at any time, the amount of money printing going on, the global debt problem, all these triggers could push the price of gold significantly higher.

Russia is buying gold as fast as possible, now exceeding China's gold reserves :

292  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is Global Warming Real? on: February 23, 2018, 07:09:00 PM
Global warming/cooling is real and has been established throughout the earths existence.

The real question is how much is attributable to natural cycles and how much is attributable to mans actions and this is where it gets murky.

Ever notice how anything "green" always ends up costing people more money.

Being green is a business and for every piece of supporting data there is a piece of data conflicting with it.
293  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: February 23, 2018, 06:23:44 PM
I am young and need preparation for old age. I prefer to invest in bitcoin rather than gold, bitcoin has high volatility which means from every movement that occurs i can make profits from trading scalping.

If you are young why are you betting your retirement on something that has only existed for 9 years?

The sensible thing to do is make short term profit in bitcoin then convert those gains into gold for secure long term wealth accumulation and protection.
294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Venezuela Launches Oil-Backed Cryptocurrency Petrocoin to Save Economic Crises on: February 23, 2018, 06:17:17 PM
Are sanctions helping to cause the starvation and death the Venezuelan people?

Imposed sanctions never have a negative impact on those at the top of the tree, just the everyday people that cant get food or essential medical care products.
295  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: February 23, 2018, 09:08:29 AM
Hard times at moment. The world is in danger. We can face War, revolt...

Would you carry 40-50kg Gold along with your Family around the country or even more complicate, bring it over the border?

No!

Gold is outdated.
Bitcoin is the Future.

Do you have over $2 million?

$42k in gold is the size of a smart phone.
296  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you hate muslems? on: February 20, 2018, 06:33:40 PM

Muslims are destroying themselves by believing Jesus was only a prophet. Jesus will not put up with this kind of unbelief for very long in anybody.
Cool

Well they have spouting the same crap for coming up to 1 1/2 thousand years so it seems your main man JC isnt too bothered.
297  Other / Off-topic / Re: Jesus Christ is comming back here on: February 20, 2018, 06:17:52 PM
Repeant and surrender yourself to Jesus Christ because He is comming back here on Earth to group us into 2 which the one's will join Him and the other one are the one who does belong. Sinners stop surrender yourself evil is already with in you confess and repeant.

Read the Bible and you see and realized everything is happening and maybe repeated.

I agree with you because I am also a believer that Jesus will come back as He hath promised. No one can predict when because it is written in the bible that He'll come back like a thief at night. Also, the signs are already visible and is happening right now. What we can do about it is just to repent as early as we could before it's too late. Jesus loves us after all.

It will be a shame group 2 will nail his ass to a cross and end him before you all get a chance to float up to meet your sky god playing a harp.

You can always spot a Christian, nothing they like better than gloating about those that will burn forever in the pits of hell.
298  Other / Off-topic / Re: Jesus Christ is comming back here on: February 20, 2018, 04:45:29 PM
The only thing that can save the earth from the final fall is the return of Christ. Helping the poor, raising the standard of living, propagating moral principles, although they bring relief, but can not in themselves raise the moral state of society. The main reason for the degradation of people is the rejection of God and His law. Sin encourages entire races and peoples to hate and kill each other.

The only thing that will save humans and other species on this planet when it finally comes to an end is science.

We will become an interplanetary species in the future ensuring our survival.

I just hope that those that are allowed to leave are screened.  Religious nut jobs can remain and enjoy their long awaited rapture.

Its probably acts like this:

Nigeria: Muslims wipe out 15 villages in mass slaughter of Christians, government does nothing

300  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I don't think the gold value bigger than bitcoin on: February 19, 2018, 03:25:48 PM
This is an example of real money.

I just purchased this Spanish, Phillip II gold 2 Escudos cob, a real gold Doubloon as immortalized in pirate stories created in the Toledo mint.

It dates from the year 1556 - 1598 yet it still cost a few £k.

Do you think Bitcoin will still be around and valuable in around 500 years?
