1  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much has the lock-down due to the pandemic been able to benefit you? on: April 06, 2020, 05:13:29 PM
It has not tahat much of a benefit. The only benefit I had due to this problem is rest since most of the companies are restricted to operate. This should be a good time to invest and trade but the market situation is becoming more of a problem. The market value of cryptos are having a hard time to recover which makes it difficult to trade. Investing on the other hand is quite crucial because I would probably use the money meant for investment, to suffice my daily needs given that there is a problem with regards to buying the essentials.

I see it more of a burden. Many people are struggling at this moment especially to those countries wherein governments are not that effective to support them at times of such. And with that being said, I cannot enjoy the 'rest' well knowing that there are people who are not comfortable with such situation. Hope it will be solved soon.

3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the safest crypto online games to start if you are a Newbie? on: March 30, 2020, 06:17:44 PM
I don't know if there are even gambling games which could be safe because it is gambling that we are talking about, risj therefore is present, invalidating a game being safe. But I would say sportsbetting would be the closest to such criteria especially if you are into sports. You only need to choose from teams or athletes that you think would win the game and most of the time, popularity would determine which one would be the best tk invest and gamble. But still, I won't give assurance for a 'win', again, this is a gamble, there is always a chance that you would lose.
What do you think? --can I recommend dice and roulette gambling game since among the poll I listed this is the easiest gambling I have ever known. I added a poll and lock this thread once I have got satisfied answers from our fellow gamblers on this community.
In terms of understanding the games and patterns, dice games are definitely the easiest. It's quite direct and nothing too complicated. The thing that could make it complicated is how much are you going to risk and can you control your emotions. Knowing that would be beneficial for the newbie.
In my case, i find it hard to make a 'pattern' in dice. Winning is more uncertain in such kind of games in my opinion, and this could be classified as one of those gambling games which are pure-luck-based. Strategical games would be those of card games, I think.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When is altcoin season??? on: March 29, 2020, 04:31:50 PM
Altcoin season would more likely occur when the market is back to its feet again but most of the time it is when the market price of Bitcoin is on uptrend. But it doesn't mean always, there are times wherein the market prices of altcoins are on greenmarks while Bitcoin is in red marks. It is just that, parallelism would be mostly observed during the altcoin season.
Not in such a hard times. We will see altseason only when (if) both markets starts to recover
Indeed true. It is still blurry to have vision of such thing as of the moment due to the recent crash which made it more difficult for the market prices to again recover. But I believe that such thing is still possible once the socioeconomic crisis end, which could be a good start, then recovery and other things would more likely follow.
Impossible to predict, uncharted waters for now. Holding 70% BTC and the rest divided into ETH, NWC and LINK. No trade zone for me ATM.
Trading is not preferred at this moment by many people. Investing on the other hand is. In my case, I do hold various altcoins but most of my holdings are in Bitcoin and I bet many people here, are also doing the same thing since the recovery of Bitcoin is more anticipated by most investors I think.
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Betting Double After Losing is Really a Good Decision? on: March 28, 2020, 03:26:21 PM
Depends on your luck, sad to say. There are instances that it would be a good idea to regain your loss but if you won't be lucky enough, the loss would be bigger obviously. So maybe, playinh it 'safe' would be a good idea. But it would depend on your 'feeling', some gamblers do trust that feeling whenever they are playing, it turns out to be a good idea to some and not to others. Bottomline is that, gamble an amount you can afford losing. This should be kept in mind especially if you are highly being affevted by the outcome whenever you gamble. Just enjoy the game and whatever the outcome is, do not have regrets, which would be hard to do if you are really expecting for a win, which could lead to frustrations.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buying low selling high ain't always successful on: March 27, 2020, 05:59:46 PM
It depends on the cryptocurrency you have invested in. There are times wherein the market prices are low but not all cryptos would be able to go along with the price increase when such thing happen, only those who are 'strong' enough would get through so you better choose the best crypto in order to make profit from buying low selling at high peaks. Also, since the recovery times cannot be predicted, there will be instances wherein profit would be dull, but patience is the only answer with regards to this.
This time has been one hell of a time, predictions seem not to work,or sometimes one fundamental analysis will just disrupt the way technical analysis has been plotted, this period has indeed been full with instability, I think this isn't the time for trading especially as it concerns newbies. Just look for a good point, buy your coins and hold and then wait for moon.
This is the reason why holding is more advisable than investing at this moment. No one knows when will the market increase and no one knows what coins would be profitable to invest when that period come to existence. But investing is not a bad thing still. If you are that eager to take the risk and proper someday, you better choose the best investment at this moment. I would say Bitcoin is pretty a good shot to try, its price is still low, giving opportunity to investors.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is like day trading ? on: March 26, 2020, 04:44:11 PM
The existence of risk is the "thing" that relates both trading and gambling to one another. But it seem to me that the similarity is more sided with gambling more than trading. Trading is like gambling because there is no assurance of profit because the market value is volatile and it would be hard to find a good trade, especially at this moment that the market value of cryptos are low, and no one knows when will uprise occur as well as which coin would go along with the uptrend. Gambling on the other hand is a bit like trading especially on strategical gambling games such as card game, a player would think of the best method in order to come up with the win. But as what I have said, it is risk which connects both gambling and trading to each other forming similarities.
8  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How does creating topics improve you a lot? on: March 26, 2020, 03:05:25 PM
The benefits of creating quality topics is very simple;
1. You'll gain more knowledge.

one could argue that you should already have the knowledge before starting the topic and share that knowledge not to want to gain it after the fact. specially if it is a guide topic. i sometimes see such attempts that ends up being more misleading than being helpful.
There is this thing called "interaction" between users. Not because an individual created a topic, he would be the one to share knowledge. It is more of 'trading' knowledge because other people who would visit the topic you have started, could add or even correct the errors on your topic. They may oppose or agree with what you are talking about and in such way, gaining knowledge is happening. I have started a topic recently and it started purely due to the curiosity since I saw two sides.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5235077.0

Feel free to have a visit and freely discuss your side. What confuses me is if the virus has a direct relationship with the crash recently. I have decided to go with the side that such relationship exist although I still doubt that there could be other factors behind the crash. I used this as an example because in such way, I have learned about the things that confuses me, which were answered by other users.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I realise Coronavirus is not a reason why on: March 25, 2020, 04:45:05 PM
It might really be an indirect effect to the market value of cryptos. Actually, it is still blurry for me. There are times wherein I do agree with the hearsays that it is corona virus which mainly affected the market condition at this moment. And by reading other people's opinion, there is really a possibility that the crash recently is due to panic with regards to the problem and not the virus itself. Since establishments are being forced to close at the moment, as well as works of different fields, people might panicked, resulting and making them sell their holdings jn a sudden to prioritize daily needs.
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did gambling cause you to have difficulty in sleeping as a gambler? on: March 24, 2020, 05:47:58 PM
Well before, it was really giving me a hard time to go to sleep probably because of regrets and frustrations on losing. But eversince I set a limit on how much i would gamble everytime I would play, the 'anxiety' at the end of the day is not that 'huge' because the amount I lose is an amount I can afford losing, like an excess money. Also I made it a habit to always expect losing for me to just enjoy the experience from the game itself and not the desire of winning huge money or instanly becoming rich. Expectations do always alter our way of thinking. A domino effect that would affevt our mood and mental condition.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: High rewards still possible in bounties? on: March 24, 2020, 05:03:00 PM
Possible but is hard to find such bounty program. What determines how high the reward is from the bounty projects, I think, is the market price of the product coin. But since the market situation is now pulling down the market value of cryptos, I think it would be hard to find one. Unlike before, way back 2017, wherein the market condition is good. It was the year when a bullrun occured. Most of the projects were profitable because most projects are succeeding that time. When the crash happened, things went to the opposite. Most of the projects are failing desoite of popularity and potentials. So maybe, the way the market behaves would also determine how huge will the profit be.
Nowadays most of the bounties that gives high reward are scam. That high reward is just luring more hunters to promote the scam project, this is not the year 2017 anymore where ICO's were profitable but better to research the project so you know if it is legit or a scam.
Maybe, you are referring to amount of token allocation from a bounty project. Actually, if you are not new in this industry, you would know that huge token allocation does not mean the reward will also be high, for example; what if the market value of each token is low? Numbers would be nonsense. I have experienced of such thing, I won't mention the project because this happened years ago. I receive more than 200,000 tokens, but each of the token have a price of approximately $.005 that time. I earned 'profit' but it was not as big as what I have expected to earn from it.
12  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: [Ito nanaman sila] Scammer's gamit ang COVID19 on: March 24, 2020, 04:01:04 PM

13  Other / Meta / Re: Rank up on: March 24, 2020, 03:20:33 PM
It is really a problem. Not all users in this forum are participating with the sending or giving of merits but we cannot blame those who are not doing so because that is there 'right' to decide whether to give or not. If ever you won't get a merit from creating a topic, do not stop, maybe, other users think that there is an 'absence' of something that would convince to give you a merit from your post or topic created. We should all seek for improvements.

Also, there are merit giveaways sometimes, participating would be a good idea, so do not lose hope.
14  Economy / Speculation / What do you think? on: March 24, 2020, 12:11:36 PM
Bitcoin's market value dropped under $4,000  which was from a market price of  $9,000 on the same week before the crash happened. The digital currency had been trading near the $10,000 level in mid-February. The slide began later in the month alongside global markets reeling from the quickly spreading coronavirus.

At first I did not believe that there is a correlation between the market price of cryptos and the virus itself because the moment it caught the attention of the 'masses' there's nothing much of a movement in the market value of cryptos. But things have changed when the virus was classified as 'Pandemic' by World Health Organization,in March 11, as reported in CBC News. Consequently, the market price of cryptos fell in March 12

China to where this virus started, is showing signs of recovery or having a better condition compared on the previous month. As cited by 'Los Angeles times' , The number of newly diagnosed patients has dropped to around 25 a day, with no cases of community spread reported since Wednesday. As per CNN, on their article last March 19, the situations seem to be over because majority of the people have recovered, having a statistical data of 70,420 people (87%) of the cases have already recovered. While the market price started to increase a little.

Given how these two variables seem to be related, do you think the market will fully recover once the problem with regards to the emergence of Corona Virus is resolved? or there are other factors which may trigger an uprise or keep the market low-still?

15  Other / Meta / Re: The quality of this forum has gone down significantly on: March 23, 2020, 03:36:25 PM
You joined Bitcointalk in late 2017, and you think the current state is worse? Bruh. If you think threads right now are rubbish, what more in late 2017? I'd say Bitcointalk's current state is great compared to the past as a lot of people stopped due to the merit system and a lot of people capitulated due to bitcoin's drop in price.
Merit system is a proof that the quality of this forum have improved, how? I am not sure but as I have observed, topics are multiplying faster than before because users are wanting merit from other users in this forum, everytime a "subject matter" is having potential to be discussed in this forum, topics would immediately rain down, and IN MY OPINION, this makes this forum, more interactive. Also, when it comes to the moderators, they are more active on deleting and moving irrelevant topics, then properly segregating them to their 'proper' places in this forum.
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't know what to do on: March 23, 2020, 02:46:46 PM
Good thing you have tried to engage to this forum if you are really that interested in cryptocurrencies. To answer your questions, Merits are being sent by other people in this forum if they would like your reply, or the topic you have created, it is more of an interaction between users in this forum, like compliments perhaps, if you did something good. The best thing to do in order to improve the quality of your topic is to be on point and also, to provide credible data to your claim for example or opinion in order for other people to agree with the subject matter. Merit is a bit hard to earn, some users are not participating in a way that they are not sending merits, but we cannot blame them for doing so because that is their decision whether to give or not. If you won't be merited, do not be upset, just continue to inteact within this forum, because there are people here who are 'active' in giving merit to other users. Just enjoy the experience as you learn new things, and other things would follow.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What old coins are you still holding? on: March 23, 2020, 01:52:16 PM
SVD tokens, and more, I cannot name all of those coins but these are from the bounty campaigns I have finisged before. The thing why I am holding such coins is not because I want to, but it is just that I have no choice but to do so. The profit by selling some of it at this moment is not enough to encourage me because it would appear to be a waste of time. Some cannot be sold because they are not even listed on any exchangers, considering those coins as 'dead'. I have other holdings in which I am hoping to earn profit from, in the future, if ever there will be an uprise in the market value of cryptos.
Until 2019 i had a lot of old altcoins but right now i own a few tokens these are going turn into zero values. Since 2014 how many altcoins was created i don’t know that. I have currently 2-3 years old coins these are OPUS,Target coin, both of dead assets. And somehow small amount of Credits coins though it’s still now worthy.
There are even instances wherein Gas money is more expensive than the profit that an individual would get from selling it. Also there are instances wherein there's no market volume so what is more likely to happen is that, those coins will just be 'burried' in our wallets as a souvenir from the effort you've made to earn them.
Many coins died after Bitcoin and litecoin happened, it's not a new thing and yet many are still complaining about death of many coins today while it's been happening right from the start, I'm holding bitcoin and few forks still I missed new coins too
Yes, and the death of the coin also has a reason, such as the loss of the team's concern for the coins they have made, causing death to the coin or no longer has value on the coin, so the dead coin has a cause and effect as well.
Indeed true. Long term vision of a project should be a must. From what I have seen to those projects who are now considered to be 'dead' is that, they have stopped updates and developments with regards to their project after their campaign period, which I think also contributed to the outcome of 'dead coins'.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anyone here succeeded a friend to play online gambling now that casino are close on: March 23, 2020, 12:57:16 PM
That is more likely to happen. I have friends who often go to casinos on normal days but since there are restrictions as of the moment, they engaged into online gambling to kill time since their works are still suspended due to the threat of the virus. I did not invite them because they are already aware of the existence of online gambling industry but they asked me of which gambling sites would be good to put themselves with.
Majority of casinos are now closed but anyone here succeeded in inviting a  friend to play online gambling now that casinos are close
indefinitely, I'm sure a lot of gambling casinos are open to playing in online casinos at this current situation.
I don't want my friends and family to learn online gambling because i know how addicted this is.

for the time being we are enjoying playing Games online, strategic and sports game while killing the boredom of being quarantined ,
OP might be referring to people you know, who are into casino gambling, not only to people around you including those who do not gamble. But that is true, gambling could kill time especially at this moment wherein people are restricted to go outside, and are advised to just stay at home.
I believe that in the next few weeks many people and companies are going to have to adapt.

Gamblers will play on online casinos, physical casinos will have to open online casinos, companies will have to adapt their work to home office and so on.

Probably we will see many new online versions of real life casinos showing up.

It is not so easy for a company to open its own online casino.
It takes months maybe even a year for big companies to have a license to operate in a determinate nation where a lot of laws are operative.

For example here in Italy, they are talking about a PokerStars.eu thing since 3 years ago and nothing happened so far...
Indeed true, I think existing online gambling sites before the emergence of the virus, are those who are funtioning at this moment. It would be hard for physical casinos to just engage in online gambling instantly. There would be processes the same with how other online gambling sites were introduced to people.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Coronavirus affects Bitcoin and when it will end on: March 22, 2020, 07:14:56 PM
I think, the way corona virus is negatively affecting the economy of different countries, do reflect on the market prices of cryptos. My basis is that, when this virus arose, there's no effect to the market prices at all, but the moment it became pandemic or simply 'viral' when cases were reported to different countries, things have changed. The market prices of cryptos not only bitcoin, fell in an instant approximately 47% within few days. Many businesses, establishments were forced to stop operating because the aim is to avoid interactions with one another, making it not surprising to know that things as well as online services were also affected.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What to do when price is dump?? on: March 22, 2020, 05:25:44 PM
The ideal thing to do whenever the price is low, is to simply invest because that would be a huge advantage especially if there will be an uprise eventually. That is only ideal because not all people do have the money to invest in an instant, or money to put it at risk- for not earning easy profit because it would be a waiting game. In line with the risk, not all people could afford 'losing' money from an investment. The market price of cryptos do moves a lot which makes it a bit risky to the eyes of the new ones.
when price is dump dont sale your coins. just hold and wait for market upward. keep your money in good coins. when virus is finished then market go up and make a good profit deal. stay positive and wait. i do not sell any coins in this situation.
Keeping an eye with your holdings is a must thing to do. Letting go indeed is not the right thing to do. Some people do panic selling because they are afraid of 'losing' more money whenever there is a downward direction for the market prices. They though doing such thing would cut down their losses but it won't be a good solution. Selling is simply losing the opportunity to earn profit in the future.
