in any case the update of Constantinople failed the testing. perhaps the ethereum team is implementing everything with good results in January 2019.

The Ethereum constantinople upgrade failed on the testnet. That's the main reason, why Casper has been delayed for Ethereum until 2019. In the bright side, Ethereum will scale in the safest way possible compared with other alternatives which scale quickly without ensuring the quality of the implemented upgrades. As such, it's not quantity that matters (like number of TPS) but quality instead. If Ethereum could scale safely with it's Casper PoS and Sharding, then it would become a success.

By then, Ethereum will become one of the fastest cryptocurrencies in existence, just like in its early days. In the meantime, we could enjoy altcoins with near-instant speeds that make our life much easier. DAG cryptocurrencies seem to be the best bet towards allowing users to make micropayments at the least time possible without any additional costs. On the other hand, DPoS cryptocurrencies such as EOS and Tron are also fast with cheap costs. This means that cryptocurrencies are only getting better over time, which will result in massive adoption from people within the mainstream world.

Nonetheless, if you're looking into the fastest cryptocurrencies in existence, then DPoS and DAG cryptocurrencies are the ones that fulfil such purpose. It's been proven that PoW based cryptos like Bitcoin and Litecoin are extremely slow and resource intensive. Which is why, the future lies on PoS, DPoS, and DAG for greater scalibility and energy efficiency. Just my thoughts Grin

I believe bitcoin is much fastest than other coin because as you look in its market value it increases highly and widely accepted investors as well. I hope it will remain stable in its price and continue to grow more.

I do not think that several miliseconds really can change a thing, so I am not sure that there is a point in making every new platform faster and faster.

for now what I believe is coin with a good speed of delivery is XRP,
the fastest I've ever sent using XRP is 5 seconds, between one wallet with another wallet,
but not including wallet exchanger, because usually the wallet exchanger requires manual confirmation every time you do a WD or deposit.
and besides XRP, I also recommend Stellar, because the delivery is also fast.

I come across a lot of solutions that saying that they are the fastest and I have no time to compare all of them, but I am sure that several researchers have done it.

As Bitcoin becomes slower each day in transaction confirmation time, other alternatives could prove to become useful for everyday transactions. Cryptocurrencies like Litecoin, Dogecoin, and even Ethereum have faster transaction confirmation time allowing you to send and receive coins at a hassle-free way.

Thus, among the wide variety of altcoins, many have block times which are near instantaneous. Based on these facts, which cryptocurrencies do you consider the fastest?

I would appreciate if you would list it or them here.  Smiley

There are too much of altcoins, so there will not be certain answer and you need to look what altcoin is the best for you in terms of use to make a choise.

Money drives people mad, it's sad! People buy XRP cause it's stable, but it has many demerits and doesn't meet the purposes of the community! The coin is centralized, so be cautious when buying in long-term!

I would say any small blockchain is instant.
Basically, the way the technology works is that the less amount of transactions, the less volume of confirmations that need to be made, means faster speed.
At a certain point, it becomes basically instant.

But if you are looking for a crypto that can always be fast, you will have to look for non blockchain projects.
The three biggest now are IOTA, Nano, and Byteball.
Out of these, I would say Nano is the most reliable and fastest.

there are a lot of projects going on right now that promise to have incredible speed, but that's just it, they are only promises.
Whether they can deliver anything, like 1mil transactions per second, than that would also feel "instant".

I do not think that several miliseconds really can change a thing, so I am not sure that there is a point in making every new platform faster and faster.
Every millisecond is important if you want to be a global digital currency. Bitcoin can handle less than 10 transactions per second and Ethereum can handle around 20. VISA, for example, handle around 2000 tps and that number can go up to 4000 tps.

I think that EOS or TRON will be the fastest blockchains now if we consider the transactions per second rate.
But, later, after IOTA will be more used, IOTA will be the fastest because Tangle is a nice solution how to solve the scalabillity problem Wink.
