You could visit a mining site and go down haha. How flat do the believers think the world is? Is it supposed to be 2 dimensional or are they saying its a few miles wide or what?
I actually never heard about how they think about the depth of earth.
@Batman: Can you dig "through" earth and fall off?
If you go up to the top of a building - don't make it a tall building; 3 stories high is enough - and you jump off, do you fall up or down? You fall down, of course.
The point? If you dug through the earth to the other side, and you fell out of the hole you dug through, can you call that falling up?
If you could actually dig a whole through a (real world) earth and jump through it without getting molten you would eventually move from falling down to falling up, because the center of gravity is in the center. On a flat plane that would be different, hence my question toward the flat earth "truther".
Don't worry about the "pockets" of molten. FE people don't know that the earth is flat infinitely in every direction, but the molten is only in pockets.
Think of the earth like a thick slice of bread, indefinitely wide in every direction, but at least way wider than we have any chance of determining with our present observational equipment. Can you dig down through this "slice of bread" and get to the other side?
Forget the gravity question for a moment (even though that was the original idea). Think of coming out on the other side.
We are under a dome on this side. There is water outside of the dome. We are living in a dome bubble. What is on the other side of the slice of bread? We have water above, with us living inside a dome that is about 35,000 miles wide, and 17 or 18 thousand miles high at its center top above the North Pole (according to FEers).
But if it is a slice of bread, is there water on the other side of the slice? And, is there another dome? Or is there air on the other side... air that extends indefinitely wide along with the whole indefinitely wide flat earth?
FE people don't really say anything about
that. Maybe Elón Musk is secretly a FE person. Maybe all his boring equipment isn't for digging tunnels. Maybe it is for penetrating to the other side of the flat earth. Maybe he recognizes that there is a large amount of wide open land on the other side. If he can just get through the earth first, and set up ownership on the other side by claim, just think of the tremendous amount of land he might be able to control... if the other side isn't covered with water like this side is.
Maybe the whole earth is rather porous like a slice of bread, floating on water. Today's scientists recognize that a polar shift is not only possible, but that it might be right around the corner. Maybe something like a pole change happened in the far distant past. But instead of the poles simply exchanging places, it was that the flat earth flipped so that we are living water-side now, when we were living air-side back then.
Think of it. Density and electrostatics might be the thing that makes gravitational force, and would be the thing that is keeping us to the underside of the flipped earth... just like the FE people are saying.
Graham Hancock and many others are showing us that there were tremendously advanced peoples in the ancient past. Imagine that there were advanced races a hundred times more advanced than those that Graham Hancock has dug up.
Imagine that the very advanced scientists of the ancient, ancient civilizations saw the FE flip coming, just like we see the polar shift coming. They built the dome to protect us from the waters on the underside of the flat earth. Then the flat earth flipped. And here we are, living within the dome on the underside. But the cataclysm destroyed the ancient civilizations.
Just think if Elón Musk happened to be the guy who dug back through the earth to the other side... the air side. He would rule the world. He would control passage rights back to the air side.
Consider that
notbatman has said many times that meteorites are simply chunks of iron falling off the dome. The dome is starting to crack; it has been there many, many thousands of years, and it is breaking. Elón Musk just HAS to get through. He HAS to find or make passage to the air side, or we will all be destroyed when the dome cracks. Elón Musk is our only hope... because nobody else is farsighted enough to do what Elón is doing.
Makes for a neat sci-fi story, doesn't it?
