The belief that the Earth is flat has been described as the ultimate conspiracy theory. According to the Flat Earth Society's leadership, its ranks have grown by 200 people (mostly Americans and Britons) per year since 2009. Judging by the exhaustive effort flat-earthers have invested in fleshing out the theory on their website, as well as the staunch defenses of their views they offer in media interviews and on Twitter, it would seem that these people genuinely believe the Earth is flat.
Soon they will have enough members to get funds from Government as a minority group... the thing that they have been after all along. And you and I are helping their membership grow just by responding to this thread and posting in it.

If the sun really circled the Earth that way, the equator would have FAR more daylight time than anyone at southern Chile or Canada. And, of course, no midnight Sun on Antarctica. Where is the evidence that the sun is that close to earth? Why is the sun moving that way in the flat earth model? Is the sun alive? The Sun is a holographic projection off of the mirrored dome (engineered technology). If you measure it with a sextant it's about 32 miles wide and 3,000 miles high. Being a projection the Sun doesn't exist at a specific point in the sky; its position depends on the viewer. Schizophrenia is a hell of a disease eh? And then get the angular transponder and radar readings from various airports and military bases that show that the flight is really in a gigantic curve around the globular earth.

Astronomy Picture of the Day: Explanation: No one, presently, sees the Moon rotate like this. That's because the Earth's moon is tidally locked to the Earth, showing us only one side. Given modern digital technology, however, combined with many detailed images returned by the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO), a high resolution virtual Moon rotation movie has been composed. The above time-lapse video starts with the standard Earth view of the Moon. Quickly, though, Mare Orientale, a large crater with a dark center that is difficult to see from the Earth, rotates into view just below the equator. From an entire lunar month condensed into 24 seconds, the video clearly shows that the Earth side of the Moon contains an abundance of dark lunar maria, while the lunar far side is dominated by bright lunar highlands.
