And since china is a big country, I would say that other countries will follow especially those countries with allies on china. I wish our country will also consider legalizing bitcoins so we could see so much adopters in the future to come.

Legalizing bitcoin is not gonna help it from being adopted by many people, the thing that will help it from being adopted is actually aome logic socialitation about it, some people dont understand it at all and people are always afraid of things that they cant comprehend or understand

That is correct legalizing is not gonna help, i think to convince more people to adopt bitcoin is to see them that they can easily earn by investing any amount of money. and also i think if the bitcoin will be legal in one country it will start to have tax in every transaction that is not good for us because now we enjoy in transacting bitcoin without any tax involve on it.

As bitcoin has increased in popularity and use, it has gained the attention of many governments worldwide.
Taxing the transfer of bitcoin makes it expensive, any transaction involving Bitcoin is a realization event and triggers taxable gain.

Bitcoin is decentralized, while governments want things to be centralized, that's why it's not something they would want to get involved with. Governments would have to have some kind of advantage, to start using bitcoin. Or, if the majority of people start using it, and therefore businesses and companies, then governments would also have to start using it. Governments might actually try to create their own version of bitcoin.

Why people stubbornly continue to repeat that mantra about Bitcoin being decentralized? It has long ceased to be...

I meant that it is decentralized in the way that there is no central bank backed by government control, when it comes to bitcoin. There is no central authority that can legally manipulate the price of it.

Governements will try to tax all. In a few years perhaps even clean air.
Bitcoin taxation is something which is very near. In fact the EU is already very far by taxing Bitcoin.

Does it mean that price manipulation through cornering the market (e.g. whales pumping or miners dumping) should be considered illegal and thus prohibited?

What difference does it make if the result is pretty much the same (due to lack of true decentralization)?

Governments will tax whatever they can, but there's no way they'll be taxing clean air. They might start to put some of their taxes into clean air projects, but definitely not air. As for taxing Bitcoin, there has to be enough of a userbase for them to want to tax it and justify it, and if it doesn't show up on their radar that X number of people use Bitcoin in the region, then it might not cross their minds to tax it at all.

On the other hand, it may not be worth the effort altogether. That is, the total costs incurred might exceed the total amount of taxes collected

I bet governments are already profiting from bitcoin and alt coins, while normal people working hard doing mining and trading.
If you think the most powerful organisations in the world are just by standers you are dead wrong.
i think it might be a possible thing, though it is also possible that governments will ban bitcoins and people will not be able to use it in the future

As the countries and some banks stop promote bitcoin as the darkeness cureencie or investment option, i doubt people wont get curious to make a deep research, my friends are scary to use bitcoin, because they saw the prison at Venezuela on tv. If countries start accept bitcoin, this will change their opinions or not.

bitcoin is international currency, but i think that the price might be going down pretty soon because governments might ban it easily

Governments will never accept/adopt Bitcoin as currency or in any other form. Why? It's quite simple. They will never use something they can't fully control. I think we have to stop wishing for things that will not happen.

different governments have different view about bitcoin. some states consider it as illegal currency. while other have consider it a legal currency and they are allowing every act of bitcoin in their state even they are looking for to apply tax of Bitcoin. but some state have yet not statement about bitcoin they neither consider it as a legal or illegal currency.

They don't need to accept it they just need to regulate it to the point that creating never ending scam projects like fake cloud mining will be considered a normal crime.
So far cryptocurrency is safe haven for all kind of con artists and crooks who take advantage of either stupidity of people or fact that bitcoin is irreversible payment method.

So far I think no country has declared it as a "legal currency" they dont declare it as something illegal but it is something legal, in general bitcoin is considered as goods or thing instead of currency. If there is a currency that truly acknowledge bitcoin being a legal currency than that country will be taking it as one of the country's payment method

your statement could be true because as we see now that several countries has decide to banned bitcoin from their countries because one of the main factors that they can not control all bitcoin users also don't be forget that bitcoin user didn't paying tax to the countries but only to the miners

Some countries are using other countries' monies as legal tender. The most recent example of such is Zimbabwe where the authorities being unable to constrain inflation totally abandoned their own currency (Zimbabwean dollar) in favor of a basket of other currencies (mostly US dollars) in 2009...

So adopting Bitcoin as legal tender (along with other major currencies) may be the right step for a desperate government of a small country

We will wait for future for bitcoin and i think bitcoin is growing year by year..
