imune,

take the time and get it working.   the MOST likely problem is
you are not listening on the right ports.

what does

it's all settled, but the port is not responding. The problem is not on the server, but somewhere else. That's all I can do ..

The initialized statement doesnt appear cause it can't connect to mysql me thinks.

Also, ziomk, blkmond does exactly what the name says, it doesnt prevent loss of shares. It monitors for new blocks on the network and alerts pushpool which sends the Long Poll signal to the miners.

Here is the piece of code from pushpool

Code:
if (!srv.db_ops->open())
goto err_out_listen;

applog(LOG_INFO, "initialized");

As you can see it tries to open a connection to the mysql database but it can't so it exits.

I'll help Imune out tomorrow but here is a quick overview:
- make sure the mysql credidentials are correct.
- make sure that variable: proxy is the IP of the server running pooshpoold..
- make sure that the bitcoin credisentials match, important notice: make sure that the ports match, I like to use 8262..

I'm 100% sure the problem is at the mysql part!

I am a total newbie to Ubuntu,
but i could reach the install of the push pool on the server , and get the ./configure to work .
Now the hard part is to put the configure the server.json file . I have a big experience with other scripts like phpbb and vbulletin and joomla , is it the same way ? I make a SQL Database and a user, allocate all the privileges, then i enter the right credentials to the Database information in the raw server.json file, and what about the port of the DB ?  .
Do i need to edit the other ips ? i mean the 127.0.0.1 ? And what address to use to put in the miners ?

Thanks a lot !
Please help

after you configured pushpool compiler did you compile it? 'make' 'make install'

i was able to compile pushpool entirely from reading the howto at the begining of the thread.
and the key to getting the db to work is to import the correct .sql file so it sets up the tables it needs.

Pushpol and your front end will share the same database.

the port of the db that is in the server.json should be default for mysql
i did not have to change it for mine

I am not an expert but I believe you should leave it 127.0.0.1

you will send your miners to the local IP of the pushpool server unless it is coming from outside the net work then you will need to configure your router to send all traffic on the mining port to the local port of your pushpool server.

Yes i did

make install;

Thanks !

Edit : where to edit the .sql file ? in the server.json file ? And can i make the DB using cpanel or any other panel ? easier than the manual commands ...
