I agree. We are still perceived as the underdog. Imho, crypto is 40% tech and 60% speculation/hype.

In this instance, we have 100% tech on the Dev's part but none of the hype/speculation. And this is where the investors/market come in.  Investors initial perception of the coin is what's kept this coin's price down (regardless of the tech behind it) - the name DogecoinDark conveys imitation of the original coin simply because we already have Dogecoin. Furthermore, there was another attempt with the same name ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=770742.0 )which has damaged the brandname before we even came online (would you rather buy an Apple phone from genuine Apple store or a Chinese made replica?). My point is, if Dogecoin is already there, why would people invest in DogecoinDark (Doged) when the supposedly difference is that it has "gone dark" which most of the people who are using Dogecoin don't care for in the first place? Don't get me wrong here. I am a firm believer of privacy/anon tech. The name change will allow us to get away from Dogecoin stigma and allows us to stand on our own to feet and compete with mob like DASH etc..    

We are not just competing against other coins' tech but also fighting against the negative perception of the brand name - DogecoinDark which has existed before us.

We can sit here and tell ourselves that eventually the brand name will win (once the mass realise the difference). My question is: why wait for that? why go against the flow when we can just go with the flow?

I guess in some way I just perceived a point in time where all of a sudden - there's a huge spark of interest in things like this (for whatever reasons that may be but picture a time in the future when something like this gains massive awareness for whatever 1.cataclysmic reason or 2.it just becomes quite fashionable)

It gave rise to an idea that perhaps this could be 1.SENSE/SENSIBLE (or something like that) or 2.[insert fashionable brandname here]

But perhaps that's way off track I dunno

should have the i2p and tor electrum servers up and running in the next day or so, wont really need to test them too much,

since i already know the code is solid. our electrum server has been up and running for 4 days straight now with no issues.

great to see volume and people talking here.. lots more to come

i have registered the #dogecoindark irc channel on i2p.

if you have i2p installed, just plug in 127.0.0.1 port 6668 instead of irc.freenode.net 6667, and join the dogecoindark room.

i set up the tipbot there as well =]
