hey guys, so our difficulty is through the roof right now!

Mining Difficulty:   767.84072885
Network Hashrate:  5.88GH/s


this means we are getting some serious mining happening...  however, it also means blocks moving slower..

i am going to change the retarget time, from every block to ?  

anyone have input on this? i'd definitely like the communities opinion..  

i was thinking something along the lines of 2880, so that the diff would retarget once per day...

ps: we were ddos'd early this morning from a network in south korea, but it didn't have any impact, and the ip's were banned.

yeah i just want opinions on if we should change the retarget, or if people are okay with once in a while, having hours between blocks (meaning no tx's in that time, unless they are android or electrum, or inter-wallet, like exchanges)

Yeah we should retarget with this current diff even if the recent block halving. Go for it !!

not sure what you mean, the only consequence is it would consider the nethash over more blocks and retarget the difficulty over a longer span,

so for example, if a multipool jumps on and the nethash doubles, right now, the difficulty doubles immediately, making it take longer to get another block.

if i extend the retarget, from 1 block to say 100, then over 100 blocks, the difficulty will change according to the average nethash of all 100 blocks, so the difficulty wouldnt just double right away

it would only move slightly, because multipools dont stay on a network for a long time.

That sounds like a good result. Like I said, I wasn't sure if that was the reason, but the timing coincided. But say a multipool stays on for a long time, then that would extend the amount of time with higher difficulty using an average it would seem. A malicious multipool could be on for exactly 100 blocks, and the network would be on a high difficulty for a longer time, right? They could rig it so they are the only ones that can mine.

well it doesn't quite work like that. for instance today when the nethash quintupled and the difficulty more than tripled, they still did not get the next block even though they were the majority hash on our network, binpool got the block. then the multipool left and things went back to normal. multipools dont act malicious, they mine when a diff is low and if they dont succeed in getting blocks they leave, or it would defeat the purpose of being a multipool.

I say maybe leave as is slower for now maybe speed up later after blocks get produced and some of the power gets removed who knows but still its a lot of hash ot be thrown at it people must want DOGED and Id say keep as is let the distribution be more equal among miners.

yeah, there's definitely people trying to keep the price down. it's understandable though, this is one of the few coins that follows the bitcoin idealogy.

i pretty much finished the tor-in-wallet, compile worked, just have to do some testing/troubleshooting now..

irc chat built in wallet already works...

so next up is just adding the DOGED radio to the wallet and we'll have a version 2.0 on the way soon...

so doged irc chatroom in wallet is working, tor in wallet is working, qr codes in wallet are working..

now im just gonna work on getting the radio player in it, and finish stealth tx's

and we'll have a release party
