I started poking around a bit and it seems to fail after reading an insanely large number of bytes from the transaction then goes out of bounds on the next read, will keep digging.

More specifically it gets funky when trying to read the coinbase scriptSig

For example it thinks the scriptSig of the following transaction is 72,234,624,218,038,271 bytes long

I tried to manually break down the raw coinbase in the way Electrum does and found where it fails.

no the coinbase is normal.. im wondering if i change the enumeration in deserialize.py to actual numbers instead of hex if that would help.. so far, i have the UTXO showing the hash of the genesis block, which is wasnt doing before.

btw for anyone just tuning in, we are working on an electrum wallet for doged. the wallet is already complete, just working on the back end (electrum server)..
