I love playing at Americas Cardroom (ACR) on the Winning Poker Network (WPN).  The only thing I don't like about the platform is having to present my documents for withdrawal when using bitcoin.  I don't see the necessity and it compromises my pseudo-anonymous identity by attaching my person to my bitcoin....which comprises my bitcoin account.  Proof of identity is not necessary if one is using bitcoin because bitcoin users are their OWN bankers and there is no need to prove to OURSELVES that we spent our OWN money.  What purpose do the documents serve while using bitcoin?  It's a head scratcher for sure!

I am a bit confused about ACR's bonus system. I just had this chat with an ACR rep, and I was wondering if you might be able to clarify.

Your Question: Hi, it looks like when I get cash released from a bonus, my rakeback balance goes negative, and then the negative balance is carried over. Does ACR take 100% of the released bonus out of your rakeback balance?

Anthony F: Thank you, the answer to your question is: yes. Any bonus that you redeem will be deducted from your available rakeback.

marlais: so, is there any point in signing up for a bonus if you get rakeback?

Anthony F: Thats a question that you have to answer yourself, it depends on each person

Anthony F: depends on the game of each player sir.

Is there any case where a player would realize a long-term benefit from an ACR bonus if they receive rakeback? It hardly seems worth it if it means you don't receive rakeback in an amount equal to the bonus itself. Except for players with terrible bankroll management and those receiving zero rakeback, I can't see how grinding out a bonus on ACR is worth anything, but maybe I am missing something?

Also, I have received some private messages regarding the fiasco where ACR only credited a portion of my bitcoin deposit. There is no update; ACR has stonewalled every attempt for me to have someone look at the actual transaction and I am still out the difference between the bitcoin that was transacted and the amount they credited. The problem appears to be that ACR does not really understand how bitcoin works, and relies on their payment processor to tell them whether or not a deposit has been credited, but there is zero recourse and no way to explain the problem to the bitcoin processor if they screw up. If anyone is considering depositing bitcoin on ACR, I would recommend sending it in small chunks and verifying that each chunk is credited to your account correctly before sending the next chunk to mitigate your risk of losing your whole depo if they screw up.

I am still unsure how this is a bonus. A bonus generally implies that you are receiving something extra on top of what you would have received otherwise. What you are describing here is an advance on future rakeback.

I know that this is not the truth, because I have spoken personally with another player who also had issues cashing in bitcoin on ACR and did not have the amount credited properly. Just because they are not posting in this thread does not mean they do not exist. This is just more of "the customer is always wrong" rhetoric that I have consistently experienced when dealing with ACR support.

Your tourney experience is getting even better with our new user interface starting Thursday, April 12th. There are 5 upgrades in all, including our Progressive Payouts where you’ll get paid as soon as you’re in the money.

•   Hand for Hand: When you’re close to the money bubble in every tournament, it’s important that everybody receives the same amount of hands to level the playing field and avoid stalling by players.  Now before the bubble or final table in a standard tournament we’ll implement hand for hand play. In a satellite, hand for hand play starts 3 places before a seat is awarded.

•   Synchronized Breaks: Now breaks for all multi-table tournaments will last 5 minutes from the time the last hand ends before the break.  This way, if you get involved in the last hand before the break it doesn’t cut into your much-needed break time.

•   Fixed: preferred seating in MTTs when switching tables.

•   On-Table Tournament Statistics Display: The essential information is now right in front of you on the play table as opposed to having to open up the individual tournament lobby.  It will help you save time and concentrate on the hand(s) in front of you.
 


•   Progressive Pay-outs (ITM/ATM Technology): Have you ever wanted to get into the next tournament but ended up missing it because you were short on funds and had to wait until you’re knocked out of the one you’re currently playing (and have cashed in)? The waiting is over!  Now as soon as the bubble bursts, the money will be paid directly into your account and we’ll keep adding your prize money directly to your account as soon as you hit each pay jump.
