Question: Before PoA, do we need merged mining?
Merged mining is a good idea
We do not need merged mining
We need only PoA
We need both merged mining and PoA

The good news, just a news.

Glad you like it but this is not "just news". This shows the vector of XDN evolution this year. We always deliver what we promise, you can check the whole XDN history. PoA is an extremely hard and is the only thing promised and not delivered yet, in the same time we delivered the merged mining and solved the network security issues.
I think you will be satisfied with the Announcement 3 if you are thinking only about the XDN price.

Nice news, just increased my bagholdings to 1534789.84403706 XDN, 7 satoshi is a nice price Grin

If you are buying on Poloniex, be careful, you may never see your coins (or will wait a long time) due to the Poloniex policy. XDN price now is unbalanced.
XDN is cheap on Polo because of delisting, it is actually almost 2 times cheaper than on other exchanges.

https://hitbtc.com/exchange/XDN-to-BTC - $0.000217
https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-XDN - $0.000148
https://poloniex.com/exchange/#btc_xdn - $0.000091

This is our development, not SWIFT, we will make XDN - SWIFT compatible. You should wait for the announcement 3 to understand everything, sorry for making you wait.

The spread is pretty large also, looks like the cheap xdn on poloniex is dissappearing too now. yea i was a bit uncomfortable buying on poloniex which was the reason why i only invested a small amount, i aksed them and they promised me i would get my coins, well we will se..

I was planning to also buy on other exchanges but the price increased before i was able to buy anything.

I actually hate trading and i am never happy.

Understood, so there is no current collaboration between XDN and SWIFT?

Congrats

This is a really good news.

I really wanna see when SWIFT messages will be compatible with XDN Smiley

If I'm correct I think the 3rd announcement will involve some (financial) institution(s). This seems the direction it's taking the whole thing.

Big congratulations!!!

Right, there is no current collaboration between XDN and SWIFT. We are implementing SWIFT messages in XDN and ... you should wait for the announcement 3.

How exactly can the PoW required to send a swift like message be used to secure the Ducknote network? Isn't the whole point of PoW competing to solve blocks to process transactions? How can out of network PoW contribute if they're not trying to make a block?

1. SWIFT like messages will be onchain messages.
2. Social messaging platform will be based on out-of-chain messages (like we have self-destructed messages in XDN)
3. Are you familiar with Bitmessage? They use pretty the same technique against the network flooding. To send message you need to perform PoW. In our case this will be CryptoNight that will be used for additional XDN blockchain protection. In other words, to send the message, you will need to submit PoW. To be very clear: take your smartphone, launch the XDN messaging app, write a message, press the send button, wait a few seconds (doing PoW), Profit!

EDIT: They "will try to make a block".

So you're saying that someone sending a SWIFT-like message might get lucky and solve a block? Do they need to be running a full node then? I am familiar with bitmessage, but they basically run a blockchain that prunes blocks older than a few days, right?
