House approves bill to allow loaded guns inside cars on school campuses

Calling it a matter of constitutional rights, the House of Representatives voted to allow parents and others to drive onto school campuses with loaded weapons in their cars.

The 31-27 party-line vote for HB2693 in the Republican-controlled chamber came amid pleas from some lawmakers, who said they feel safer for themselves and their children when dropping them off and picking them up. Rep. Regina Cobb, R-Kingman, said she can attest to that based on personal experience.

“I know that if others have felt that, where you felt harassment or you felt that others were going to violate their order of protection – you wanted to be able to protect yourself,” she said. “I was also that person that was dropping my kids off at school every day.”

Cobb pointed out that current law allows guns in vehicles on campus, but only if they’re not loaded.

“I would not have wanted to stop a block away, unload my gun, go on to the school grounds and then come back and reload it again,” she said. “Using guns for most of my life, I know that’s when accidents happen.”

General people should not have a gun on his or her control if general people get control then they can do anything as they want. As a result our normal life will be destructed for it. So, any government should not allow to control gun by general public.

I still think it is better to have a serious gun control. You might say you can protect yourself with gun. It is true, but you can’t guard yourself 24 hours, if someone doesn’t like the way you look, they can shoot you in a far distance, with knife, you might have a chance to run away before they get you. You might think it also can defend yourself for dictatorship government, I actually don’t think it is enough and it is too late for this with technology at moment, government has tank , nuclear and chemical weapons, there isn’t much chance to fight only with gun even with third world country now.

All the things have two way to use Good and Bad, which is created by man in the world. If we use it the right way to save the world, save the innocent peoples then it good. But If it is used by the wrong people it will be a very bad thing that's why it needs to control to ensure good purpose.

And the distribution of it to specific people only need it. The proliferation of weapons does nothing if your enemy also has weapons but death and destruction.

If I have a gun, and you don't, but we are equal in every other way, how are you going to overcome me and my gun to take my gun away from me? But if you go out and get or make a gun so that you have strength to take my gun away from me, aren't you defeating your own purpose?

If you round up a hundred of your friends, and wait until I am all alone with my gun, and jump me to take my gun away without using any guns of your own, and overcome me (although many of you die in the process)... what happens if a hundred of my friends with guns repel your 100 without guns.

Gun control is propaganda. It is a lie being used to deceive cowards into thinking that there can ever be a reduction in guns. All that gun control does is to make hypocrites out of people who attempt to institute gun control without using guns to do it.

Besides: A 250 pound muscleman can easily overcome a 90 pound granny. But if Granny has a gun, she has a chance. So, nobody wants to be left without a gun, coward though they may be. You hypocritical gun-control freaks.

Have you ever thought about that your opponent might have a better gun, and can shoot a nickel sized groups from 75 ft from their 4", tightly fitted 1911?

If guns are readily available, you have to assume that your opponents will have them.  What are you suggesting?  A civilian arms race?

The strict rules has been there for all this years and no doubt about that,the problem is are the rules being implemented?does the government are dedicated to impose this?what about the people that imposing the Laws,are they really doing the job correctly?

Lose firearms are getting rampant on the streets,gangs owns each guns and yet nothing strictly happens so i think we all know the answers.controlling gun is not that easy

Exactly we have no other option except control the guns wisely, if we fail to control it we have to face a lots of problem and it will destruct our normal life and which will not allow us to led our social, political life.

^^^ Yes, use guns wisely. But also, use them personally. Why personally? Because nobody knows when anybody else will use a gun against him.

Who is anybody else? His neighbor, somebody walking down the sidewalk, somebody at work, somebody in government, anybody.

The big point is government people. Government people try to sneak in all kinds of laws to take guns away from the rest of us. Government people, themselves keep guns to use against the rest of us. That's the biggest reason why we all need guns, to protect ourselves from government people.

Gun control is needed. this should have been a thing from the inception. but it has to go out of hand before the reformation of gun possession was considered. Gun control is the best way to curb down possession of firearms from trigger-happy citizens

There is a high need of fun control in the society because the rate of abuse of gun is increasing and at that the government and authority need to formulate policies that will serve as a guide for gun ownership and usage in the society to minimize the level of abuse of gun and the unlawful use of the tool for defense.
