Guns are tools, of course, and many people sort of lose it when they receive these tools... which we can definitely see in mass shootings statistics in countries where gun control laws are strict vs countries where govts are on gun manufacturers' payroll but masquerade it as "protecting 2nd amendment". (And don't even start with "checking mental health" of potential customer, because when was the last time someone did so?) This is the real harm, not some imaginary "protect ourselves from oppressive government" (when was the last time any of folk who said this took the gun & "protected himself" from a govt official? We can drown in semantics if we want, we can speak about "governmental control" being "inherently bad" whatever we want, but since we don't have more effective and urgent counter policy to offer, I thing gun control measures definitely should be applied.

The people enforce their governmental action by gun control. Gun control by the people is a requirement. The only way for people to control their guns (gun control) is to have them.

What I think, the goal should be simple and clear to reduce overall number of guns available with masses, especially the ones considered weapons of war like AKs and Semis. Policy and amendments’ must be in place to reduce market desire for new weapons.

It would be really nice if we all lived in peace towards each other. But all history shows that peace is always a temporary thing. Now that guns have been invented, they will probably never go away. They are probably better war pieces than the swords used to hack each other to bits.

As far as gun deaths, they are due to the relatively wide-spread peace we have had in recent years. People aren't expecting terrorists to strike, because there has been so much peace since WW2.

In the 40k gun death situations, if all the average people who died had been armed, the death toll would have been a lot less. Why? They would have protected themselves and others.

If the people were armed, terrorists would think twice about attacking average people. The few crazies that still attacked, would be dead in short order.

A 250-pound muscleman bully can easily attack, mug, and kill a 90-pound teenage girl. But if Girly has a gun, she has a chance... even if the bully has a gun, as well.

But there is more gun killing going on than most people understand... if you consider all the microbes in the air in the way of the speeding bullet. And that doesn't even include the microbes killed on the target. And if someone gun-wounds an animal or another person, there is tons more of microbe killing going on.

There has been 10 percent increase in death by guns in America from last year and the toll reached to an astonishing number. Both demand and supply have to be restricted to control the gun market. Special rules and amendments have to be in place to restrict the growth of gun market and also cut the demand.

If this is true, it is too bad. All the more reason for us to make a law that all adults have to wear at least a .38 pistol when in public. This way they can protect themselves from terrorists. Once all the terrorists are killed by average people, there won't be any more gun deaths.

Yes. A drum loaded .22 can be exceptionally dangerous. And even more-so if it is fully automatic.

Weapons are taking all over the world. There is no stopping of it. Keeping gun is not a bad thing for the safety purpose but people are making it more of status symbol and to keep an upper hand. Must be banned.

People carry guns as they dont feel safe and therefore law makers with police need to place right laws and patroling to make sure people feel safe. There have been about 10 percent increase in deaths by gun wrt last year in USA alone. In order to restrict the gun market especially those considered machines of war need to be controlled to restrict demand and hence protect the supply. Right amendments and protocols are need of the hour to tackle this issue

There have been surge of 10 percent from last year when it comes to death by guns and the count goes to 5 figures now. Restriction of gun market at both demand and supply end has to be done and proper amendements are required to be put in place to properly maintain the gun market and not let weapons of war get into any hands.

Bad people kill other people. It is against the law to kill other people, but they do it anyway, even though it is against the law.

Since bad people don't obey laws, good people need their guns to protect themselves from bad people.

If people in government want to legislate private gun property away from people, then government people are the bad people breaking the laws of self-protection for people. People need to protect themselves from government bad people.

When Barack Obama was president, every time he brought up new control measures like an “assault weapons ban,” sales of those weapons would blast upward. That led some of us to believe that Obama, secretly, owned stock in American firearms makers.

Well, guns and ammo are selling like crazy again, this time in the state of Virginia and for a far more serious reason: Citizens there appear to be arming up for possible conflict with authorities.

With Virginia Democrats taking over all branches of state government, a firearms store owner in the state says sales of guns, magazines, and ammunition are up 200%, and more of his customers are paying in cash.
