Is Holding Bitcoin a long time good way to make money?

yes no doubt that currently the price of bitcoin is increasing so rapidly, and if the present trend of bitcoin will continue then  i am sure that after some time it will give me a good profit. therefore i will also say  that holding bitcoin for the price increase is really the best idea in current situation. i myself planning how to correct more and more bitcoin and then hold it for a  long time because it is expected that bitcoin price will continue increasing for a long time.

Well if you're comfomrtable with dealing with altcoins for shorter trades then good for you. Some people are good in anticipating the best entry and exit points in trade through some way and if you're one of those skilled traders then it doesn't matter whether you're holding btc or alts. For though, at he moment, its safer to hold on to btcs as the road to profit is pretty clear.

For me it's not the best strategy because I can trade my bitcoin in an exchange with other Crypto coins and make more money faster than holding it. That's what we call "velocity of money". I don't like hoarding anything including bitcoin. I love my money to working for me fast.

How about those people that doesn't prefer to exchange and they are satisfied by just holding their bitcoins through their cold wallets or any storage they prefer. They are saving a lot of time and they are busy with other things so for me holding is a good way to make money and you will see it's good result in the future.

to me I think both long term investment and short term investment have their own benefit. short term investment is good that if you have limited amount of money, you can make decent profit from it. and  long term investment is good for those people who do not have good experience in trading. but for long term investment you need to invest a good amount of money, because waiting for small investment for a long time is not much more profitable. you need to invest a good amount of money for long term.

and specially in current position when the price of bitcoin is already trading at high price, where the price can take a little correction and can drop a little for some time. so in such situation long term investment will be less risky as compare to long term investment. to me am also a good investor in stock market and even there I have the same strategy to invest money for long time which also protect me there from a big lost

Trading is a good option only for traders for normal people trading is not a good option because if a non skilled person will start trade then he will not know anything about the market and will not know about the price trend of any coin and maybe he will lose all of his money. So better is that if a person is not trader by profession then he have to hold for future.

My advice would be to hold at least some of your earnings in bitcoin and only invest and speculate on a portion of your Bitcoin holding. Bitcoin is also appreciating all the time so keep some of your portfolio in Bitcoin as well as other investments or digital currencies.

Agree with this one. It would be a worth deal if someone is willing to hold bitcoins for the long term because there will be huge volatility in the price of bitcoin but when it comes to the long term (5 to 15 years), I see a great potential of the bitcoin and I am sure it will be at least worth 50X more than what it is worth today. One can go with trading in the volatility to increase their bitcoin holdings.

In general, isn't holding BTC always a good thing since the price of it is pretty low now?  Obviously if you bought btc at $600 or $1000 and thought it would went up and held on to your btc, that would been a disaster.  But since its in the $200-$300 range, isn't having BTC always good?

Sum this thread up it is always good even if you bought high at the time because in the long run heck could even call this the short term 2-4 year period the people who held on to their BTC at the 200-300 range are laughing all the way to the bank. And the people who bought at $600 to $1000 if they just kept holding are up and way into the green and also on their way to the bank. So that justifies HODL is a good way to go.

Yes, I agree this is good to go for short trade with the Alts. The Alts are doing a great job at the moment because they have more chances to grow faster and one can start with a low capital investment in the Alts easily but the bitcoin cannot be that much easily traded because it needs a huge investment and it is not possible for all the users to go for this trade.

It is good to hold for longer term but as you are holding and if you are seeing the price of bitcoin starts to decrease that will make you disappoint. And if you have a weak heart you will even try to sell some of it but still the most patient ones are those going to get a good benefit from holding their bitcoin for a long time frame.
