I think bitcoins grows more widely  it has more advantages than banks or other sources. It is like a government facility and can enjoy in bitcoins. Smiley

That's why governments and big institutions will not allow bitcoins grow in wider range. They try their best to limit bitcoin growth.

Governments will either try to pass more and more licenses like BitLicense or will try to start their own cryptocurrency.

if government start their own Cryptocurrency then it will give Bitcoin more promotion and which the government doesn't want to happen.
With 2 halvings in near future Bitcoin prices will definitely increase, but it's too early to predict the prices.

Two halvings in near future? You are calling 5 years down the line as "near future"?
You have no idea of the timescale of Bitcoin.  Grin

I predict there will be more regulations put into place regarding Bitcoin, as they did in NY.
This could prove to be quite detrimental to Bitcoin, but I suspect that regions or countries without draconian regulations will have a slight edge over countries that do have them.

It is not easy to speak in very few rows about bitcoin and about its future. But I will try to tell only that bitcoin is nothing as a currency compare to the technology which is behind it. It is that technology which support it as a currency (and will continue to do in all the days to come) and is that technology which will revolutionize to many ways of our everyday lives. This technology is such disruptive as will be internet in its time. Internet has changed the life of everyone of us. In a big and depth way the same thing will do even the technology named with the same name as the currency bitcoin.

If governments start their own coins how it will help for bitcoins? if that happens then bit coin will loose its strength. So I think bit coin may not reach again 1000+ in next 4 to 5 years time.

all depends on positive spread of crypto tech information spread across the world, the more recognition bitcoin deserves, the more acceptance it will receive, and that is definitely a possibility. Either bitcoin will be something really big some day or end up like digital scrap, but I believe my investments are accurate and I will benefit as much as I deserve Cheesy

Major problem to Bitcoin is Bitcoin XT right now.
And if Bitcoin survive this, then no one can stop it or maybe someone can.
But Bitcoin isn't gonna die soon, that's what I think about it.

so basically you listed all the outcomes and state that is your personal opinion, that you know whatever can happen but anything could happen because you don't really know what would happen. I think Btc core vs XT is going to lead to a better technology development, rather than divide the currency and break its authenticity. People who genuinely came to btc to double their investments wouldn't give a fuck about it, while newbies would be even more confused than they were before.

I think that the prices of Bitcoin will be more or less the same.

I think it would be a great game changer in terms of currency and adoption, but I don't think so many people trust the government, a lot of people realized the potential of that level of power and often see people freely exploiting it. Apart from that, I think that all the govts won't make such a move together, and don't even think they will use same currency, so every country will have its own crypto which is weird for me to even imagine

Why would a goverment drop its own currency and re[lace it with bitcoin?
