Coindevs - this isn't your coin announce thread. Please honor rule 22. I can delete posts but cannot edit them.
CATS - we're planning a wallet maintenance release to update a few things behind the scenes (update openssl and checkpoints; streamline some code) and are wondering about the graphics/icon/branding.
Some people really like the orange cat. Some really like the grey cat. What if we release two wallets that are identical except for the graphics? Do we want either/or? Do we want both? Does it matter?
Thoughts?

I like the original grey cat. Is this the only block explorer? https://prohashing.com/explorer/Catcoin/Any chance of updating the links on the main site? Adding CAT to http://coinmarketcap.com/ again?

Adding CAT to http://coinmarketcap.com/ again? Prohashing maintains one explorer, but the main one is linked in the OP: http://catcoinwallets.com:2750/chain/CatcoinThanks for the logo vote. I'll submit the form at Coin Marketcap and check the links. Time to remove Cryptsy if nothing else. Thanks!

ESET blocks this site on one of my computers, and on another it didn't connect. This has come up before here. It's a false report from ESET based on the IP range of the data center. It's been reported to ESET multiple times. I maintain the catcoinwallets site - it's completely firewalled, only runs the explorer and serves wallet files, and is regularly rebuilt from a fresh wipe. The catcoinwallets server is routinely restarted - you may have tried to hit it mid-reboot. Give it another try.

The server currently hosting the catcoinwallets site and catchain explorer will be moving to a new machine some time in the next 48 hours. Downtime could be from 'zero' if the transfer works correctly to up to six hours.
I'll update this if/when I get word that our server is next in line and when the transition is complete.

Still getting the error: Access denied Details: Web page: http://catcoinwallets.comComment: Access to the web page was blocked by ESET Endpoint Antivirus. The web page is on the list of websites with potentially dangerous content. Another option is to change the domain. What about catcoin.cc, for example?

I've sent ESET three false positive reports in the past 18 months. They're welcome to stand alone if they want, and you're welcome to continue to use them as well. It wouldn't do any good to change the domain name as ESET is going off the IP range of a hosting company. Our infrastructure is clean and we have it firewalled to only allow CAT blocks in and out, and wallet binaries and the static pages to be pushed out. Personally, I'd give ESET the boot. I've personally found Kaspersky to be responsive and ESET to not be.

The hosting company finished the server upgrades and migration earlier today (11 Jun) and the site's running well.

Which Github repo is the one currently being used? I set up a node from one of the repos returned in search results, but it wasn't syncing all the way.

Any thoughts on making the cat PoS also? I have two cats at home, I just hate seeing this coin slowly die... Any updates planed? My node is still off due to the log spamming... From the beginning, krile, this was intended to be a POW coin only. We've (dev and community) looked at changing coin parameters at each major fork in the road and the answer each time has remained the same: POW and 10 minute blocks. It appears we're the last 'bitcoin in scrypt' original coin still standing. And as the community and devs identified problems with things like KGW et al, we were able to side-step the problems other coins walked into. Note that we are not one of the coins still struggling with profit-switch miners - that's no longer a problem for CAT. CAT's very much alive and will remain so - just because there aren't a lot of posts here doesn't mean much - we're still on IRC 24/7, still have testnet and updates in the pipeline, and are still working on exchanges and opportunities to use CAT in the real world. BitFUDtalk really isn't the center of the universe. I'm still interested in your 'log spamming' - I run a seed node and have my personal wallets. I'm only seeing normal P2P network traffic - no spamming. Will you please paste a segment and PM me or pastebin it and link? Thanks in advance! It appears that Cryptsy's dead and gone. http://www.coindesk.com/cryptsy-assets-frozen-as-florida-court-appoints-receiver/I had CAT there as well and was trading. At this point the best thing I can say about that mess is that I'm using it as a reminder of why the best place to keep coin is in my personal wallet. I won't 'invest' more than I am willing to lose, I don't send coins to exchanges unless I'm going to exchange them and withdraw. I don't keep coins on pools, I don't use on-line wallets, I don't keep coins even at Coinbase. The wallet is our friend here...the wallet on my computer. That's the only one I can absolutely trust. And finally, CATs - for the members of this dev team, this project has never been a 'pump and dump' project, or a 'ponzi scheme', or any of the other scams that we've all seen for years. That's one thing that has been different about CAT from the start. We have been working to build a reliable coin - a coin that "just works" like it's supposed to in today's environment. Coins have come and gone, many exchanges have come and gone, but CAT is still here and still working. That's a good thing! Hi, sorry for the late reply I will start my node again and observe the results. This could be fixed quite simply by releasing a new client build that disconnects from nodes that are running a lower than specified version. The impression was that it was dead in the water, I did not know about the irc activity, maybe you should put that on the website so people can join more easily. A community that is half in secret is not the best community - especially for a charity coin...

We're on IRC 24/7 and the info's in the OP here, spread throughout the posts, and on Reddit. It was listed on the .org site at one time, but isn't there now - thanks, we'll get that fixed. The next wallet release candidate on testnet has a number of updates - one of which is the ability to disconnect deprecated versions. We couldn't implement such a disconnect in the current wallet because we've only had one wallet release since the major fork - we needed all the old nodes on the network to get us to the fork. Thanks

This appears to be your server/service? If "one is none" and "two is one", it's nice to have 2 (er 3 ) explorers on the network. Thanks psionin.

Yeah, there is space on the server to run more than one block explorer, so I thought I'd add a few others. I like cats and have CatCoin, so this is one of them. I think it's ridiculous what goes on in the alt market most of the time, chasing after new ICO P&Ds and overvalued overhyped coins, much better to get a few alts that have been around for a long time and still have some signs of life.
