Update on POS from the dev (taken from the discord): I'm pumped!
"testing, testing and more testing. pretty sure Unitus will be the first multi-algo coin to add PoS. I can confirm at the point that the code IS working, but it still needs to be thoroughly tested - we don't want to break what we have. I remain hopeful that there still be a wallet released by end of June that contains the PoS code - but activation of PoS on the network may not occur until after that time. It is a hard fork as it significantly changes the consensus rules on the network - thus we must ensure a significant proportion of the network (miners, pools, exchanges, holders etc) has upgraded before PoS becomes active."

Getting better. Are there any plans of entering any new exchanges? Cryptopia is nice but it is good to have several. It can be good to the price also.

Absolutely! One of our main focuses recently has been put on exchanges. We are planned for several exchanges that should start opening very soon |

What will be max number of coins in circulatoin? Technically there is no max supply. However, most of the coins will be mined by block 3,933,199 (~June 2022). By then, approximately 100 million coins will have been mined. There are also 17 million UIS that have been burnt and if it stays like that, there will be ~83 million UIS in circulation by then. For reference - the current block reward is 24.5 UIS, and it decays by a compounding 1% every 7 days until it reaches 2 UIS. Once it hits 2 UIS, it will stay like that forever. We do not want a max supply. We want Unitus to resemble the natural decline of a valuable resource. Think of precious metals like Gold, Silver, Palladium, Rhodium and Platinum. People have/will mine the crap out of them, but their resources will never be 100% depleted. There will always be an ore here and an ore there that contains a small amount. |
