The most realistic options to me are either somewhere between $1000 and 10.000 or practically nothing, crash and burn. Bitcoin can benefit from another world economic crisis that can start in the next couple of years. I said crisis not collapse, a big collapse can make Bitcoin useless instantly really.

Ripped off in the sense that one gives bitcoin in exchange for some product but doesn't receive the product....Many times this aspect of bitcoin requires the use of an escrow service which makes using bitcoin as a tender very burdensome. Here is an example from our very own Bitcointalk forum....these guys got away with tens of thousands of dollars very recently: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1158117.240 Simplified: scammers will be the main downfall of btc curve? I think theres more to what the downfall of btc will become. It has to be a big event.. not just scammers.. I don't know about it having to be a big event....if people aren't willing to adopt the technology over time, then it will slowly fade off into the hands of those who have mastered the art of the bitcoin scam until the last scammer is holding the bag....it will cost 10,000 BTC for a pizza someday and the pizza boy will get robbed delivering the pizza!

Yes there are plenty of chances for bitcoin to evolve itself as a main stream of payment processor as well as prime digital money by the year 2020. So we can expect at least half the million price for one bitcoin by that time.

in 2020 year I think the price will be around $1000
underwhelming i would say, but if it is a 1k stable price like it is today for 230, then it could be ok i guess stable price must be separated from ath, it's x10 harder to remain above a certain value for an undefined time, than simply reaching it

Well the biggest truth is that we all are just speculating. Nobody knows what the price will be next year and not in 5 years time. 5 years in crypto is an eternity and many planned and unplanned things can happen in such a long period of time. I hope, just like everyone else on this forum that price will skyrocket. Now will this happen, we will see!

Not to mention that there are still a lot people who bought their coins above $800 and are eagerly waiting to sell them when they think the time is right. Even if we reach $1000 we won't manage to stay there and probably fall back to the $600-$700 level as there are too many people willing to unload.

The block reward halving makes it increasingly uneconomic to mine. Some big miners have said cost price is somewhere around $150 and that's with free electricity in certain cases. By 2020 the block rewards will have fallen from 25 to 6.25 coins. If the price is still around those levels by then it won't have caught on and there won't be any increase in transaction fees to subsidise the block reward. It would be on its way to curtains probably. It would still be possible to mine but there wouldn't be a great deal of incentive to do so.

Then there should be at least 400% growth in bitcoin price. It's just a mathematical calculation. But there are lot of factors which has more significant influences directly into bitcoin prices. So we can expect even 400 times appreciations also.

Higher electricity price will help Bitcoin price grow, or made less people mine it.

I believe $10k price might be reached within 2 years from the second halving. Once people started to invest into bitcoin then massive investment are inevitable to make prices flying towards moon.
