A user here gave me 0.25 btc, free, out of the blue. Btc was worth ~$20 at the time, so I guess it's not ridiculous. Like handing a bum a fiver. It was a very nice gesture.
I'm not going to reveal who gave me the btc, because he would get bombarded with beggars, but it made an impression on me. And even though I managed to get more btc, and lose it all before I could repay him, I have "payed it forward" by giving generously and randomly with fiat to a few deserving parties (much more than $5)
And buddy anon, if you're reading this... I won't forget you!

I bought them....myself....with fiat....that I earnt.....by working I don't know why but this kind of question always makes me laugh. Anybody who wants to make any serious money from bitcoin in the future will buy & HODL as many as you can afford to. I've been doing signature campaigns for around 4-5 months & I've earnt a couple of bitcoins that way but if you're serious about bitcoin as an investment you need to be buying them yourself. Signature campaigns are ok but the pay isn't great. I wouldn't even bother with faucets, it's pennies, almost worthless, a waste of time.

Same here. Apart from faucet, the real amount actually started coming from the signature campaign. Can't remember which one though. Probably bitin.io. After that, using that sizeable amount I went into altcoin trading and later even bought myself new coins from the market.

Do you have any tips for altcoin trading?

Same with me, I bought it at the first time, and than started earning from signature campaigns and trading , I am new to bitcoins, I just started using it since past 6 months, thanks to my friend who introduced me to bitcoins and showed me the advantages attached with it, and I was very much attracted towards using bitcoins, so without any more thinking I just bought it by using fiat
