As we see now (with the case of Bitcoin cash) our main problem is we don't have Bitcoin name on our coin. If we would have it we would be pumped straight away with good marketing. This fork mens nothing - still it was pumped till 3th position on market cap higher than Litecoin and hunderds of other better and more innovation cryptos. It's just sad, because what marketing can do to this space. Yeah, so I would be now, for some marketing if web2web is finished, because without it we can't achieve anything. If such thing as BCH can pull this off, I think we are more than capable to be in 100th and higher in marketcap after we finish our projects. Even now scam is in top 10-15 of cryptos - Bitconnect coin, so why we can't have 15-25M cap? I don't know, I think we have really lack of recognition these days.
When I will have access to my computer I'll try to write to every exchange I can think of to request listing coin: - c-cex - yobit (tho I'm really not into it - it has really big volume at least for us) - beatcoin (they will list us straight away I thinkl - bitbay (another polish cryptp exchange, I think with a bit inncetive and we may be listed with small fee, but i must talk to som ppl) - bittrex (?) - we must gather funds to be listed(?)
These would bring like I think at least 20-50BTC of volume everyday. But for now - coinmarketcap, web2web, then exchanges and marketing.

Nobody knows about projects that don't do marketing. I didn't know about Slim until I accidentally read about it in that Reddit post. It's not on exchanges, it's not even on Coinmarketcap. You guys have been doing hell of a developing job here but nobody knows about it. 60 btc market cap for a project like this is like BTC at $20. One should be really interested in learning about Slim to discover it's actually alive and developing by a great team.

Could always pool some coins to start a bounty campaign. Maybe make a fund to raise enough BTC to pay for exchange listing fees.
Also, I'm sure there's a couple ppl here including myself who would be glad to wear a sig if we had one, or shill on twitter/biz every now & then. Just need some coordination and proper channels to send ppl to, think it's kind of confusing having the old site info still available. Little things like that make an impression on ppl.

About signature campaign - yeah I though about it, but it will be free at least for now. But I think I'll make it or somebody can make it, because it's a good idea to have it.
We can close slimcoin.club, when we have at least ported everything - or have alternatives. If ACME will work as it should on final version, and brain wallet/calc of burn - we can close it. It's 2 things to do.
Thanks for translation - at least we have russian. I'm still trying to get chinese, but I think my friend friend doesn't give a sh.. about it or he cant translate it. It would be good to have it... Hmm, maybe I'll contact one more person.

@dzarmush - can you share the code of the signature?
Sure. It's pretty basic for now, gonna find some nice examples and make it beautiful. Slimcoin - The Original Proof-of-Burn Cryptocurrency

Does Slim have gettxout RPC call? Can we provide jl777 with equivalent to: {"coin":"LTC", "name":"litecoin", "rpcport":9332, "pubtype":48, "p2shtype":5, "wiftype":176, "txfee":100000 }? We can make Slim tradable on KMD Barter DEX. I think it would be great.

Ok, because I see that more and more interest is in Proof of Burn (I just saw one cryptocoin on facebook which will use it for fair distrubution).

I have created a Marketplace thread for Slimcoin. I'll link it in the OP so it can be easily found. You can express interest to buy and sell SLM or goods / services for SLM in this thread. Let's make it a success

Do you remember the name of the coin? I would like to check out what kind of PoB it uses, if it's really a "competitor" and even if they have some interesting use case of it ... There was already a clonecoin that used Proof of burn, TGCoin - it died soon. Counterparty's use of Proof of Burn is very different of Slimcoin's. Counterparty uses burnt Bitcoins as a measure to create XCP tokens (a kind of coloured coin on the Bitcoin blockchain). Slimcoin, in contrast, uses Proof of Burn as a security measure and a method to distribute the main token (not an additional token like in XCP) of the currency.

It will be named Ercoin by polish programmer, and it will feature:
100% Proof of Stake Messages in transactions one second block time (uses tendermint, but it will make blockchain unusable in my opinion) no splitting of blockchain (dont know how it has be done?) fair distrubution via proof of burn (I think they will be burning blackcoin) account managed by many keys with arbitary combinations transactions fees through consensus
Maybe not a competitor, but something like XCP I think with own blockchain. I invited him to join our project and he will think about it. So yeah I was too fast to type then think, sorry.

Thank you. That would be definitively not a competitor for Slimcoin. After Counterparty was released and used the mechanism, a couple of other altcoins tried to jump this first "PoB wave" (I remember a coin called "Levelcoin") but no one succeeded. Regarding web2web: My prototype is almost ready, but for now the inscription feature (which is part of it) works only on testnet. My guess is that we need more 0.5 nodes for the OP_RETURN feature to work. The last time I checked my peers list about half of the nodes there had upgraded to 0.5, while the rest was still running 0.3 or 0.4. So I would encourage all "normal" users - those who run important services like block explorers can still wait - to update to 0.5. A comment to Ercoin: one second block time (uses tendermint, but it will make blockchain unusable in my opinion) no splitting of blockchain (dont know how it has be done?)
Tendermint uses a mechanism based on the famous "Byzantine Consensus" that doesn't allow blockchain splits or forks. This has, however, some downsides - for example, if a substantial part (>33%) of the "stakers" go offline at the same time, then the blockchain would stop and a hard-fork would be needed to restart it. In regular PoS you need 51% to stop the blockchain. Maybe Tendermint has solved the problem now, but it seems to be a general problem of these "Byzantine" types of Proof of Stake.

I can set up a few nodes in a 2-4 weeks I think. How much is needed? And what about our android wallet ?
@d5000 - do you know how rewards will change when hashrate and thus difficulty will increase/decrease. Can you do some graph, which would present it? Now reward is around 12 SLM per POW block and I calculated that there is roughly 540-570 POW blocks per day(?), how it would eg decrease if there is 5-10x more hash power, and how it would inrease if there is less hashing power? Are you able to do this?

I just looked at the code and the following lines seem to be the explanation of the PoW reward algorithm - it seems to be the same as Peercoin's ("ppcoin" is the old name of Peercoin) algo. (By the way: Peercoin is, at this moment, one of the established coins with the lowest inflation rate.) // ppcoin: subsidy is cut in half every 16x multiply of difficulty // A reasonably continuous curve is used to avoid shock to market // (nSubsidyLimit / nSubsidy) ** 4 == bnProofOfWorkLimit / bnTarget // // Human readable form: // // difficulty = bnTargetLimit / bnTarget // // Subsidy = (the max mint reward) / (the forth root of the difficulty) // nSubsidy = bnSubsidyLimit / (difficulty ^ 1/4)
I'll try to elaborate a graph with this. For the record: When we had the recent difficulty spike, the reward went as low as 9 SLM/block.
