Well looks like Manchester Untied are going to turn their forum around now. 15 minutes played in the second half and they're up 2-0. Would be a shocker if Burnley managed to pull it back from that. Watford and currently holding Spurs to 0-0 stalemate and I expected that one to be close, especially with Watford's recent form.
Looks like I spoke too soon. Spurs scored and then Watford got an equalizer.
Man United just missed a penalty as well.
Well looks like Mourinho has found his way to save his job and salvage some reputation, it was a decent performance from Manchester United players, but Pogba penalty miss would surely have upset mourinho. I feel Sanchez and Shaw are finally coming to thier true form, but they need help from other team members. ^ And a red card for Rashford for a sorta headbutt. Lol.
It was a stupid move and mourinho won't be pleased at all, already rashford is under performing this shall do him no good.

That youngster sure deserve that red card indeed also he was quite underperform as well so he might not be much of used for Mourinho atleast in couple of weeks. They trade 3 points with a red card and alot of yellow card, normally it would be not worth it but they surely need this 3 points to catch up with the rest of the group

Not the best match that a fan like me is hoping for because of the red card and alot of unnecessary foul. Arsenal is doing really decent right now but compared with the other top team then Arsenal is still one way behind. There will be some surprise or even alot of surprise coming soon once we are in the middle of the season

Watford's surprise Premier League season win over Tottenham 2-1.
javi Garcia continues to write history with a 4 consecutive win to join Liverpool and Chelsea at the top of the Premier League.
Manchester United regained to the winning side by beating Brillney with lukaku two goals.
The match saw Paul Bugba waiste a penalty in the league for the first time since October in front of Atlanta back in season 15/16.

Yes Mourinho is safe for now after a pretty good performance against Burnley. I'm a little upset with Pogba's missed penalty as I had over 2.5 goals for this game but I was expecting Burnley to score a goal as well. Now we will see how well Man Utd play in their next game, against a team that just knocked off Tottenham. Watford won't be easy to beat at home.

That was sick though, Watford won all their last 4 matches and even beat Tottenham and their next match is against Man United, it would be hard for both teams. Finally Man United got a win, even with a unnecessary red card because rashford headbutt burnley player.

Spurs made all their subs in the last 3 minutes and brought on Llorente, Winks and Rose. They had no attacking players to bring on because Son was away and they didn't sign anyone during the break. They are really going to struggle this season I think. An injury in Kane or even Lucas and they could totally fall apart.
The Rashford red was somewhat unfair. I mean, yes, it was a clear red, but Bardsley kicked out at Rashford after the ball was out of play. They should both have been sent off. VAR is needed.

Rashford was as Mourinho said: a naive boy. Unfair for sure, but he really didn't do himself or his team any favours, left referee with no choice. Should have lodged a complaint, am sure it would have been looked into, got the yellow for Bardsley and irritate him more for a second yellow. Testy game last night, but really there was no danger from Burnley. This is not the same team that won Europa League qualification last season... Spurs? I was thinking it'd be a showdown for top spot between Liver and them after the int break but well done Watford. Sarri's also showing everyone what he's capable of, though he does have a good squad already to pick from so we'll see. Much madness, glad I stayed out of betting. I'd have picked Spurs to parlay.

This might be an understatement. Between having to compete in the EPL, league cup, FA cup, and the Champions League, you just know they're going to have a difficult trying to sort out the squad when injuries or red cards begin to appear. I think they should focus on the league, I think they might actually have the opportunity to fight for the league title this season. I don't see them going past the round of 16 in the CL, and they'll probably use subs in the other two trophies thus not giving them too much importance. I don't know how this strategy of not buying any players in the transfer window is going to play out (Poch is the guy who likes to use youngsters from the club's academy), but in the long run, I feel like they're going to regret not incorporating new players (they'll have the January transfer window, but they'll have to pay a lot for new players).

This might be an understatement. Between having to compete in the EPL, league cup, FA cup, and the Champions League, you just know they're going to have a difficult trying to sort out the squad when injuries or red cards begin to appear. They can just field b-teams for the domestic cups. I'm sure the Premier League is their main target but they're certain to give it their best shot in the Champions League as well.
I don't think it was a strategy. They just didn't manage to buy anyone. No point spending money on players just for the sake of it. They've already got a very strong team/squad. Manchester Untied spent a lot and look where that has got them so far.

Really sucks that as soon as the season starts & we start to enjoy watching football regularly again a pointless international break comes. I mean seriously, what is the fucking point? The World Cup only finished about 2 months ago & 4 games into the PL season we have to stop for a couple of shitty friendlies. There’s only one positive to all of this, I get to see Liverpool guaranteed at the top of the table for another 2 weeks

Yup... Watford vs United is the fixture to watch. Btw Mou's rant could actually be a diversion to put the spot light on him, not the players' bad performances... That's according to Matic that is. He said Mou did the players a favor. But what's the difference? The managers should always get the blame.

If we're gonna keep using the same Man Utd narrative then of course any team that didn't spend that much is gonna look like they made a great investment. And they (Spurs) don't have that strong squad everyone keeps saying, N'Koudou, Sissoko, Llorente, or Harry Winks, aren't exactly great subs, you know those subs who you expect can save you in a CL game when you're 1-2 down in the 85' min...if you want to be a competitive side but those players are your backup plan, well, results like last weekend vs Watford tend to happen. Hell, even Sol Campbell (what a centre-back he was during his prime!) is surprised Spurs didn't make a single signing [1].

Absolutely. Pochettino is partly to blame as well. The game was completely out of Spurs' control by the half hour mark, and he did nothing to change it up until it was too late. Credit to Winks, he looked strong when he came on, but Poch was clearly hindered by the lack of depth or good attacking options on the bench. Puts even more pressure on Kane, especially with international commitments and the EFL Cup starting up too.

I agree. Always bores me when the international break is on. Spurs made all their subs in the last 3 minutes and brought on Llorente, Winks and Rose. They had no attacking players to bring on because Son was away and they didn't sign anyone during the break. They are really going to struggle this season I think. About Spurs, Son will be back soon because South Korea u23 just won the Asian games and he can avoids military service and join Tottenham like usual now. VAR is less important in things like the domestic leagues. One goal or missed opportunity isn't the difference between someone going home or not or winning the title. If referees miss things on pitch such as violent conduct the FA can and does issue penalties for them after the fact.

1. https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1012520/Tottenham-news-Sol-Campbel-summer-transfer-windowIt depends on who you buy. Man City may have got most or all of the players they wanted, but I agree they essentially bought the title but that's not always the case or can happen. They do have a much stronger team and squad than United in my opinion. They have a lot of superstars don't get me wrong, but they still can't compete with City IMO. What were the players that Pochettino actually wanted? If you can't get them then it's pointless buying some subpar players just for the sake of it. Maybe they'll take advantage when the transfer window opens up again but buying the players you want isn't always an option. Remember Spurs still essentially play second or third fiddle to the two Manchester teams and arguably Liverpool now and those are where the big names tend to go even though spurs get better and better and are certainly becoming worthy rivals.

I'm sure all opposition team fans and even some sections of Manchester United are hoping Manchester United loose, and Mourinho gets the sack. However that's not going to happen, I had suspected it along and now I'm really sure there is a huge financial package involve if Mourinho was to get sacked, and we all know that Manchester United owners love saving money. Manchester United vs Watford is a mouth watering clash, and if Mourinho wins it I guess he silences his critics for a bit, but what if Watford are the next Leicester they have performed brilliantly so far. If you'll understand the reference Mourinho got sacked post the defeat at Leicester hands in his third season, will history repeat itself?.

^ For Man United to get out of the rut their in, then it's time for them to accept that they're not and will not ever be back in the level of dominance under the SAF era without giving the club some time to rebuild. So they tried taking a short cut by spending big on the past couple of transfer windows... It didn't work, it's now time to get down to business, get a manager who's willing to go thru the rebuilding process and actually rebuild.
