This comparison would be something like comparing an elephant with a whale. Two entirely different animal optimized for two entirely different living area . Ripple is an IOU system for making different stuff (e.g.: elephant to BTC) easily swappable, while ETH is basically a framework for making contracts and then enforcing and verifying the processing of these contracts. As relaying between different systems is also possible, in the future it could be a framework for glueing together different platforms. It's in alpha so there are no binaries like a ready to use QT wallet. You need to deploy it as it described here: https://www.ethereum.org/cli.

This is what I think: Ethereum will survive and Ripple will die for sure. Why? Because Ripple is centralized. Just my opinion, though

This is what I think: Ethereum will survive and Ripple will die for sure. Why? Because Ripple is centralized. Just my opinion, though Actually Ripple and ETH could work fine together. Ripple would be the gateway to the material stuff and a host of different crypto and fiat currencies and Ethereum can be the intelligence what monitoring and controlling the flow of goods and money. BTW Ripple not going to be dead soon, there are tons of money behind them and money transfer services and some banks are jumping into it. Ripple's centralized nature is a benefit/requirement for such companies.

Anyways, the idea of Ethereum for smart contracts and decentralized applications is really cool. One that I'm looking forward to is Maidsafe.

In my pipe dreams I see some great possibilities for an integration between Maidsafe and Ethereum as well . E.g. Maidsafe could be an excellent infrastructure for storing digital goods, providing storage and computing services, and Ethereum can be the trading platform, accounting, billing and legal service for all that stuff .

That would make an excellent decentralized system. Just combine Ripple + Ethereum + Maidsafe and you've got a whole decentralized computing and financial system ahead. Imagine the future. That's why I've been investing in these coins. They provide good technologies

As you know the greater the amount of the circulating supply the lesser the valuation of the coin, the Ethereum coin has a multi-million number of coins in the market whereas in competition you may observe that ripple has billions of coin circulating in the market, these high number of coins ensure a lesser price value hence low returns.

You compare what can not be compared, these are completely different fields of application, these are completely different goals, a completely different ideology and goals. And it is clear that in each side there are good sides and bad, but they are not the same.

How do you even compare this two? over 80% of cryptos run of Ethereum blockchain. that alone is enough to show you how adoptable Ethereum framework is compared to the so called Ripple

Both Ripple and Ethereum are completely different worlds. It's comparing apples vs oranges. For once, Ripple is just a centralized payments system that has been designed to lower costs for banks. On the other hand, Ethereum provides smart contracts technology which allows immutable applications to run within the blockchain without the need of a third party or intermediary. While the coins mentioned earlier are different one from another, one of the advantages that Ripple has over Ethereum is its inexpensive fees. Also, transaction processing speed is fast when compared against Ethereum. This brings flexibility for anyone looking to send cheap payments from anywhere in the world in just seconds. Still, Ethereum is good for smart contracts but it is facing scalability issues. Hopefully, with the Casper PoS upgrade, Ethereum would become more robust than ever, with lower fees and higher transaction speeds. Nevertheless, Ethereum has managed to remain as the world's second largest cryptocurrency by market cap. Last year, Ripple has managed to surpass Ethereum in terms of market cap, but eventually it fell back to its original levels. Only time will tell what lies ahead with the future of these cryptocurrencies. Just my thoughts

Ripple and ethereum for sure a lot of people earn a lot of money because of this two coin. The price of ethereum before it's one digit only but if you see today it's 3 digit and last week ago the price become more than $1000. I hope ethereum will increase more. Even the price of ripple today is $1 if you compared to the price last few years ago it's totally big difference because the price is only satoshi.

This comparison would be something like comparing an elephant with a whale.
Yes, but you can speculate with elephants as good as with whales))) But I think Ethereum is much more stable coin...

This is what I think: Ethereum will survive and Ripple will die for sure. Why? Because Ripple is centralized. Just my opinion, though That is right. People are here just for to make their wealth a decentralized asswets that is why they will not like to put their money in ripple. But only when they will see any rise in the price but still that will not be a permanent rise in the price. By the way in both of them if you want to invest for a long term then invest your money in ethereum. That will bring a huge profit for you in short time period. But when you see the price of bitcoin increasing then immediately convert your ethereum to Bitcoin as the ethereum then remain back.

I think the only difference I see in both coins is it's price value and by looking into the graphical chart both coins seems to have the same trends. In my opinion these two altcoins are promising and that is why it belongs to the top 2 and 3 slots in the ranking at coinmarketcap. I believe these two coins did a good performance and reliable for investment as this is continuing to grow.

Only time will tell what lies ahead with the future of these cryptocurrencies. Just my thoughts Scalability issue can be fixed through hardfork but the majority of people don't know about what was the purpose of hardfork itself. They know if the hardfork is the only way to generate new coin and released the new network and that's wrong. People are so blind to make a comparison between ether and ripple. They only care about the scalability comparison between both of platform. Ethereum tried to build new blockchain based smartcontract. We know that smartcontract can be used in so many ways. Even ripple interested in creating its own smartcontract in the future.

Absolutely, eth is more reliable and already proven than ripple, i think not even a real token. So far i read some post about ripple and all they say ripple is not even a real cryptocurrency. So no need to compare they are far away from eah other. Eth has lots of investor and have trust of many people. Eth has more projects than ripple.
