The most interesting thing is going to be seeing Bologna in the Champions League next season. I assume they wouldn't mess up on the last three weeks.  

I have checked their Champions League history. I have seen they were a part of this tournament in 1960s the last time. The name of the tournament wasn't even "Champions League" those times.    Therefore it is going to be a really meaningful success for Bologna. But can they do well in the Champions League? Their current squad doesn't look very promising to progress more. However the tournament format is also going to change so let's see what they can do.

I do not think Roma actually has any chance to finish in a position where they will be able to compete in the Champions League competition in the next season. But it is possible for them to finish in the fifth position and compete in the Europa League. I think with the last two draws they have wasted the chance to qualify for the Champons League. Their last chance is definitely to win 3/3 remaining games, but look at Atalanta and how they have a game in hand. It is a very complicated situation for them. We have few interesting matches and things which can happen in league table at the end even most chances we will stay with these teams for the top spots with just Roma and Atlanta are having fight for the top fifth spot with most chances Atlanta going to have better chance but still we can expect good, interesting matches which will bring good changes in league table.

It is not easy to chase these four points if Atalanta and Bologna do not experience 2 defeats from the last 3 matches. Even though Bologna is ready to extend Motta contract, Motta will definitely start considering coaching another club. It will be quite a complicated round of changing coaches starting next season and of course Milan wants to get a coach who is equal in experience. The Porto coach is indeed their current target but it is possible that it will fail if Sergio Conceica still wants to stay in Portugal.

Apart from that, if Motta becomes Milan coach it will boost his career even better with the squad depth being much better than Bologna. I agree that it looks like Roma will probably not go to top four with the way they are playing right now. The scary thing is that they started their De Rossi period quite strongly and that made them think that they made a good decision by getting him, which could be true as well.

However, they started to lose points left and right every week, which means that they could have been at top four already if they won those games and they still ended up failing to win. This means that they are getting worse, and if this is the case for the long term then there is a potential that next year they can start the season with De Rossi, because he had a good start, but then next year they could be bad because it would be more like how it is going right now and not how it did at the start.

I doubt that Bologna can maintain fourth place until the end of the season, because they still have tough opponents in the remaining three matches, Napoli and Juventus. Of course, this match has the potential to make Bologna lose points again. The Europa League is unpredictable but the higher odds belongs to Bayer Leverkusen since they've maintain unbeaten to this very level of the tournament. They're currently losing 1-0 to AS Roma and its 2-1 on the scores aggregate, we all expects for an epic comeback for Leverkusen since that's typically what they're best known for. AS Roma are not behaving like a club that's desperate to fight for major position on the Seria A table this season. Roma are 6th position on the table and they still have chance to fight to enter the UEFA Champions League next season because FIFA have made it five qualifying team for Seria A and Bundesliga.
