Time after time I can say Leverkusen is getting progress and they can even have better performance with their coach Xabi Alonso if they could buy some players in this transfer window to improve their team and invest some money while they could not and hire many players but I still think Xabi Alonso can be the reason for them to even get the ticket for champions league in the next of season for another time.

Leverkusen made a good job winning vs Leipzig which started their season by defeating Bayern in SuperCup with 3 goals to 0! Now they lost 2 - 3 vs Leverkusen.
For the other top teams that played today, there is Dortmund, Freiburg and Wolfsburg that won their matches. For M'Gladbach they failed to get more than 1 point vs Augsburg. M'Gladbach doesn't seem willing to improve.

I'm sure Xabi Alonso will make Leverkusen appear stronger this season. The first match this season, where Leverkusen won against Leipzig, made their run look quite perfect in the first game.

I think Leverkusen will be able to provide strong competition for other big teams like Bayern Munich and Dortmund. This victory was also warmly welcomed by Xabi Alonso because he considered that his foster children performed as he expected, namely to win 3 points

It looks like so.Leverkussen got the three points against one of the teams who lately has been fighting for the title and they won at home with a difficult result of 3-2 for them.It means that there were a good fight on going as there were a lot of goals scored.I think that maybe this time Leverkussen put up a great fight in the title race like they used to do in the years 2000 where they even were at the final of the Champions League against Bayern Munchen.

I also don't understand why the bookie applies quite large odds to Union Berlin for the first match of the new season. Btw here, Kane proved himself to be quite impressive in this early match by contributing 1 goal. Hopefully this will always go well in the future, so Bayern's purchase of Kane really doesn't disappoint.

Stuttgart scoring 5 goals yesterday was incredible! A team that had so many problems in the last years , they look like they finally have a team who could avoid relegation spots with ease.

Funny how Dortmund barely managed to score 1 goal and they overall gameplay was not so great as Koln could've score and take a draw but they were a bit unlucky.

I can say another thing, Tottenham started to adapt to a new life, without Harry Kane and with a new captain Son Heung Min. They just won against Manchester United 2 - 0 very impressively. Kane deserves to win titles with his talent and he made his choice to leave Tottenham. This decision mean he waived up his chance to break the all time record of Premier League scorer and chase for titles in Germany. Alan Shearer would feel happy because his record will stay here many more years.

Leverkusen managed to reduce Leipzig's strength in this match and this certainly makes me a little optimistic that Leverkusen can achieve something better in the Xabi era for the second season.

I don't see Leipzig doing worse. they are still good even though they have to lose the match against Leverkusen. as you said, Leipzig lost its stronghold. there are loopholes there that opponents can take advantage of and it will be dangerous if they are not addressed in the near future. I think Marco Rose realized that even before the fight started. there will be improvements, but maybe some name changes to determine the right formation for the Leipzig defense.
