Bayern Munich has been a long term dominant team in the Bundesliga, i agree with that fact but let's us not forget how Bayern Leverkusen came to limelight against the expectation of many people. Any team can still rise against Bayern Munich just same way that Bayern Leverkusen did, we might see a different ball game from teams we least expected that anything good could come out from them. For now, Bayern Munich has no strong rivals after Xabi Alonso who was trying to create a close rivalry from Bayern Leverkusen but he left and no one knows what will be the fate of the team under the management of a new coach Eric Ten Hag.

I don't have so much faith in Erik ten Hag.

You're right pre season games doesn't justify how a team will perform that season although most times when a team performs well in pre season they are likely to do well but it's not the same with when a team doesn't perform well. A team with bad performance in pre season can grow better as the season progresses and it could be the case with Bayer Leverkusen. Losing Alonso, Wirtz and a few will definitely affect their performance this season.

It will still be very easy for them still considering the fact that they are the biggest team in the whole of the league and no one comes close to them and funny enough it's been like that for ages. Each time another team manages to win it, bayer munich comes back to win it again the next season or two. Personally, I think the real deal here for Bayern Munich is the fact that no team in the league is close to then in terms of money. They are the richest in the league and can afford to buy any player in the market which even the second team in the league will struggle to get. In terms of money they are miles ahead of all other teams and this gives them the edge over them.

Dutch-Ghanaian winger Ernest Poku joins Bayer Leverkusen on five-year deal

Dutch-born winger of Ghanaian descent, Ernest Poku, has sealed a move to German top-tier side Bayer Leverkusen. Poku joins Leverkusen on a long-term contract from Eredivisie side AZ Alkmaar, where he came through the youth ranks.

He has signed a deal which will keep him in Germany for the next five years, opting to play under former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag.

Poku went through the AZ Youth Academy from 2019. He was also part of the team that won the UEFA Youth League in 2023.

The trickery forward was involved in 20 goals across all competitions for AZ during his time with the first team, scoring six goals and providing 14 assists, which includes three in European competitions.

Poku featured in his last game for AZ over the weekend in the 4-1 win over Groningen on the opening weekend of the Dutch league.

The winger will look to continue his development at Leverkusen in the coming years.

I’m not surprised at the news in fact I smiled that Erik Ten Hag has returned to his signing of Dutch players. On the bright side, I think this is good signing because Ernest Poku happens to be a fast rising talents that they have got on their side, this is a player I expected to see top European clubs running after but Leverkusen have won the race.
