There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

If masterluc is expecting a drop to about $970 that would agree with a Fibonacci 23.6% retracement which would be a healthy correction in an overheated bull market

The Vinny Lingham Indicator

I think here, with this article he is one of

a) preparing his audience for a burst of the bubble
b)covering his ass
c) just sharing another article

a nd b more likely meaning he just found out/ or has known for a while, but he is most certainly expecting a drop in price soon of more than 10%

$700 coming soon....

I am SO fed up with your catastrophology issues Afrikoin.
Always something negative to share.
If you have been regurarly following him on Twitter, by now, you would know that he was always saying that IF BTC price rise up TOO quickly at above 1200-1300$ BEFORE the ETF, we will see then a drop of 10-15% to the price the MAXIMUM and after that the price will MOVE UP to 2000$ by end of 2017.

Hi man! Are you still sitting at $ 465 with your empty bag to fill?  Grin

Hi son!

Have you even ever witnessed a bitcoin bear market??

go back to the kids table

No, I never witnessed btc bear market but your profile (you registered your account in Nov 2013) shows very well that you are a btc bagholder from the 2013 bubble  Grin

You are right: Lingham is bullish in his article. Here is what he says:

Expectations are very high that Bitcoin will break $2,000 this year and my expectations are that we will hit $3,000 — but preferably much later in the year.

Africoin is a looser: some weeks ago he was hoping he would grab some coins at $465. He failed. Now he`s hoping to buy some coins at $700 and he`s fudding btc.

BTC will never go below $920. Mark my words!

I have just read the Vinny Lignham article too, and a lot of what  he says seems like common sense.

If the COIN ETF goes ahead in march, best case scenario would be if we could grow yet somehow manage not to overheat too much, as this would cause another boom bust cycle.
Or crazy bull run and spectacular crash followed by a long bear market. Like 2014-15..
I would also prefer if we avoided that.

I'm ambivalent if the ETF gets approved or not.

Anyway.. here is a video from Mr. Jozza with a a more immediate trading focussed outlook..

Shouldn't fear the boom/bust cycles. They are innevitable for a new technology when gaining adoption. We have already had several boom/busts in bitcoins life and we are still here. Yes it sucks right after the bubble bursts but that's how it is. No point in having such fear for it.

Asking for the price of bitcoin to appreciate to several thousands of dollars but at the same time not wanting any bubbles is asking for too much imo

And yes of course it's better for bitcoins store of value function and potential medium of exchange function if the price is more stable but bitcoin is still just WAY to small to ask this now.

My sentiments exactly. There's preference and then there's reality. The reality is the market cap is just far too small for there not to be a bubble. It's not question of if but when and we'll just have to deal with the fallout and keep moving forward.

new indicator

Peter Brandt indicator

see his recent tweets and comments on BTC being oversold and reminiscent of Silver here

source: https://twitter.com/PeterLBrandt/status/835559905658470400

first comment responded saying

 @PeterLBrandt exactly! I traded $SLV from $17 - $48ish. $BTC from $680 - $1180. The backwardation, hype, and TSI indicators look familiar.

Also he said

ANNOUNCEMENT: Not an enemy of $BTC. Owned them from sub-$400, exited on Friday. Just saying - even a computerized IOU is subject to a bubble
