at the moment, many are interested in what some brave members have done to S7. Also, experience so far without modifications.
So you're looking for people to post information about how they have voided their warranties, so other people can void their warranties, forcing them to buy more Bitmain product if something goes wrong. Got it.

I know some of you may say shut up.... ...... *Any physical modification may voids the warranty. (If you are going to break the warranty seal, please ask permission from info@bitmaintech.com before doing so to avoid the loss of warranty coverage. *this is not an endorsement to authorize overclocking or underclocking or modified use of S7 to retain warranty. Any conditions that are listed in the letter included in your package remain in full force... Does the warranty remains If you use one controller multi-S7 unit with long data cables from S5+?

Got my two s7's just now. B3 All configured and running 4.8 Just wanted to note, the middle hash board gas a little bit of looseness in the chassis slot, both of these. Two outside boards snug. I believe that was the case with my others. If you hold the middle board snug and flip over a few times you should be able to detect loose heatsinks. Off to the datacenter.

Do you immediately install the latest firmware as part of staging?

Surely there is a practical side to the Warranty issue? If there is a visible trace to something being done that will void your Warranty. Broken Warranty Seal, then you have voided your Warranty. If you have done something that is not visible. Run multiple S7 on a single controller or upped the Frequency and then set it back, you may have voided it but how would Bitmain know? That is unless actions are logged like on my GT-R and can then be later examined by Bitmain? Rich

I know some of you may say shut up.... but lets share some S7 experience here!!! (yes good or bad or may be some secret tweaks you made with S7?!?) Yes, frequency changes, vertically deployed, any customs tools you made for S7, some bug finds, etc (frequency outside of the stock condition will void the warranty) *Any physical modification may voids the warranty. (If you are going to break the warranty seal, please ask permission from info@bitmaintech.com before doing so to avoid the loss of warranty coverage. *this is not an endorsement to authorize overclocking or underclocking or modified use of S7 to retain warranty. Any conditions that are listed in the letter included in your package remain in full force... the policy used by our customers is really painful, the warranty period of 90 days is too painful. if hardware is fully functional it does not need all those frequencies and then not use them because they will void your warranty. the miners who produce are scaresa quality for this date only 90 days warranty. Sieto only attached to money. another thing, if a user pays you in BTC have the right to do it to save as much as possible, both in the shipment, especially the customs fees. what game you're playing? it seems that people are stupid?

s7 batch 3 not respond to setting of speeds fan. brand new... set to 60% and then confirm when S7 boots up, and the fan runs at 4000 and 3800 rpm. I also tried a restart switched off. temp is 54 and 52, hash is 4,900 +/-
60% = 95%- 100% ie 4000 rpm try 55% or 50%

Do you immediately install the latest firmware as part of staging? Crap, yes but I just forgot on these two. I usually let them run a bit on the stock firmware. Thanks for the reminder. I'll do it remotely Just got a 90TH/s spike on nicehash with 17 s7's Both new miners running on oct 23 firmware now. A ok.

edit: Am I the only person that has noticed this?
This dude's living depends on mining and there is only one hardware provider on the market so he is eager to stick his tongue in BMT's ass as deep as he could as long as they are ready to sell him equipment. Put him on ignore, anyway there is no useful posts from him. My "living" does not depend on bitcoin mining. Am I wanting to use it to get ahead if possible? Yes. My wife is an accountant for an oil and gas company with a 6 figure salary and I have my own business training telephone technicians. I have more training lined up the first quarter of 2016 with CenturyLink. I probably could have more business if I were to get out looking for it. I've been educating myself on other topics lately instead of making calls to gain more business. I used to be on the road training telephone technicians 45 to 49 weeks every year. However, I'm quite content lately just being home with my 4 year old son instead of on the road away from my family all the time the way I used to be. Is there a problem with me trying to workout a way to spend more time with my family? You got your little "tongue in ass" poke in as well. So be it. I don't understand why you ,and others like you, get their freak on with hate speech towards others conducting business with someone else that has nothing to do with you? I could think of a number of reasons why. However, I'm not going to waste any more of my valuable time with the likes of you. You might want to check yourself next time before making your pokes of hate. Invest your time doing something positive instead of something negative. You might begin to have a more positive outlook on life and yourself as well.

To be fair you can't blame Bitmain (or any other miner company) for customs/import/vat fee. That is something to blame the government doing it. Luckily I'm in US we don't have it. Some do have it really bad though on vat. But just since you pay with BTC does not mean they should try to cheat on customs fee's. A lot of people seem to think it's bitmains fault for not declaring lower value... they are just following the laws of the country. So the late shipment sure all them, but customs fees..... not their fault. Using BTC does not mean they should dummy up paperwork.

I think you need to chalk this up to jealousy that you can afford the hash rate you have and they probably are using stick miners making pennies a day. I'm jealous of your hash, but only because of envy. I don't hold anger at people who have more hash since you're buying it the same way I am.

Falsification of export documents is considered a federal offense in the USA. A fine of $10,000 and up to 5 years in prison can result in cases of willful falsification. It may be ok for your friend or family to export to you and claim a different value, but just DON't expect legitimate companies that deal with export/import on a frequent basis to do this.

People should stop caring what and how others run their business. And I meant miners and such.
Not big companies like Britain that hose and slap their customers in the face openly...
Simple as that.

sorry for the question but you feel all honest? bitmain really think that is honest? What you have before your eyes steaks? Who says it can not declare a lower price? so if the value of the miner drops, bitmain keeps the price to $ 1,658 because the customs are that price? do not make me laugh, paying bitcoin can declare just fine $ 350, and second-hand and sell it for the price I want. sure that you are very cute, congratulations, you see that you like you scrub the money,. certainly when you send him an RMA for a defective part, he tells you to declare $ 15 right? so that bitmain pays nothing. Wake up and open your eyes,.

Here is just one link of many for those in the US: http://learnexportcompliance.bluekeyblogs.com/2014/08/28/when-minor-export-violations-can-become-federal-crimes-2/In regards to returns, I'd declare full value if you are sending the full item(s) back. If it is being parted out - for example a hashboard/controller it might be different and can be issued replacement cost as stated by manufacturer. I'd also keep any and all correspondence if the manufacturer requests a specific value of declaration on a return. Exports by individuals are not likely to be scrutinized as much as a company that does frequent export/importation - however you'd want to be able to show that the manufacturer is telling you the value and as such would be responsible for fraudulent claims in value that was noted.

Did Bitmain ever release a new batch at a higher price?
I think this is the first time (except for the S1) where the price has advanced since the introduction of the miner.

The S5 actually went up and down several times with the price of bitcoin going up and down.
