Why i lose coins (simplified explanation)

1 : you receive shares , you mine the block and get the reward
2 : another ppl receive the same shares and mine the block too and get the reward too.
3 : when the blockchain is reorganized  the fastest miner keeps the reward and balances are updated (for the slowest miner, the block is orphaned)

This is due to latency and extreme fast time block ( during the launch).

hello I lost all the coins to move from the old to the new portfolio some way to recover thanks if you help me I give you a high reward

Did you make a copy of your wallet?

Copy the contents in C:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming\Soil\keystore , then put that copy in the new wallet in the new machine.

USER= login/username credentials

Old hand:
1) Doubleclick  "delete_SOIL_folder.bat" to delete the test-net SOIL folder (important)
2) Doubleclick "new_account.bat" - Set a password. The window should be closing automatically.
3) Doubleclick "soil.bat"
4) (optional) Doubleclick "SOILsafe.bat" for our Gui Wallet

doing so will erase all apart on the old purse was no folder keystore

+1 for speeddemon13 or
If you deleted your kestore folder then you need to use another method to recover your wallet.
Download "recuva" from pririform and try to recover your file. use UTC as keyword to reduce the search. good luck.

That would make is a little difficulty to recover the wallet if you erased all the contents in the C:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming\Soil\keystore.
Like the others said, use an app to recover erase files in the Trash Bin. There's a lot of free ones that work, too many to mention.

All users please write to BLEUTRADE - only 10 meessage left.

Who the fuck want these shitty 0-volume exchanges? What we will see there? 1 satoshi bids? SOIL caretakers should apply at least for bittrex and ignore any attempts to be listed on a place like alcurex, etc.

Go show them some love https://twitter.com/bittrexexchange

At this point when you have the vast majority of coins going to a few individuals I'd rather see them dumped on a crappy exchange before we get listed somewhere decent.

It's going to be a dumpfest when we get listed.  After a bit things will even out, but it's gonna be rough with all of the power a few have.

LOL, Look at volumes, the biggest one is 0.1 BTC for 24h. What are you going to trade there? This is a grave for every coin listed there.

While you were there you should have checked ethereum clone coin history. Shift and Expanse both were on Bleutrade before big exchanges and both did very (35+ btc volume) well there. It would be perfect first exchange.

He is absolutely correct. SHIFT and EXPANSE were listed there and their volumes were historically shameful huge.

hi there. was reading thru your posts from today, about the issue with your wallet. im trying to understand the problem that occurred. as far as i understand things, you had to reinstall teh main net package, and didnt back up the keystore file in your, if you are using windows, users/USER/appdata/roaming/soil/keystore file folder?

there SHOULD have been a post detailing what to do beforehand in case of such emergencies, regarding how to safeguard your coins in that event, which is actually somewhat relevant to any cryptocoin you work with.... and thats something we'll be adding to the FAQ on the website to prevent others from suffering a similar fate in the future.

but i was wondering if youd managed to get anything straightened away? looking thru the explorer, the wallet address you provided me still has 5000SOIL listed for it, so im a little confused.... did you reinstall SOIL after id sent you your capped testnet mining bounty?

you mentioned your friend also lost their balance of SOIL as well, if you dont mind, have them PM me their wallet address so that i can investigate this further.

there WAS a keystore folder in the appropriate (referrenced above) location, although im not familiar with MAC or linux iterations of the wallet and keystore storage there, but i changed over from main net to test net several times in the week leading up to our launch, to test the official mining pool that we are still working on, to test the faucet we have set up and are just adjusting the dispersal time limits right now (dispersment will be set at 0.05 SOIL) and i never had issues finding or backing up my keystore wallet from one net to the other to keep them separated.

might there be a program you can download to assist with undelete where you might find the keystore files that seem to have been lost? since the deletion of the main net wallet only occured recently, its unlikely your system would have written over the data by now, so there might still be a way to retrieve them. the coins ARE there, in the wallet address you provided me.

i seem to remember reading something in the command line options for geth (that would also apply to gsoil) about importing wallets, and with the wallet address and your password there, you should be able to retrieve it in gsoil. ill look into it, just need a bit more information from you and your friend before i can investigate what we can do for you any further.

from what i have found reading up on how to restore wallet data from our "parent system" ethereum...

The default data directory locations are platform specific:

Mac: ~/Library/Soil
Linux: ~/.soil
Windows: %APPDATA%/Soil

using the

"help recover"

line within the gsoil command line interface, might present some other options as well...

ive researched a few undelete software options that might work. the following seem to have the better reviews as far as i have seen with cursory examination:

https://www.piriform.com/recuva
http://www.condusiv.com/products/undelete/
http://www.undelete360.com/

this page: http://www.techradar.com/us/news/software/applications/best-free-recovery-software-1141256 has a number of other undelete software options as well. hopefully one of those would help.

the last testnet bounties have been sent out as ive now received the wallet addresses to send them to...

0xaf889adda19f178514453cbf9ca63737d364930c   1805.0859375 SOIL SENT
0x66a470d4c46af122c2a8fe5326129da1e73e8e6a  1790.0           SOIL SENT*
*1210 SOIL remaining to be paid to this wallet. wallet holder has been contacted.

as soon as i have received the final dispersal payment towards this outstanding balance, ill post the community wallet ledger with all debits. the testnet bounty was sent to me in a separate wallet for that purpose once we had the transactions sorted out, and quite simply, there mustve been an error in my addition. (that wallet address is: 0x4aead4193b39360bc78086c866f8657fb68ea93b for anyone thats interested) presently, for testnet bounty purposes, we have sent out 49,041 SOIL to our testnet contributors who provided their testnet wallets to us in order to calculate the rewards) my thanks again for all those who contributed.

Soil on Linux, v03

A shorter way is in the OP#1 ... this is just another variant ... to do ~the same ... With some explanations; a different way to install 'golang'; a folder, path, and link to make gsoil available as a command; plus a keystore backup; and gsoil as a background-process 'screen'.

Plus some first useful JavaScript console commands <-- they work on  any platform, not only Linux.

preparations
Code:
# dependencies
apt-get update && apt-get install -y git binutils bison gcc make libgmp3-dev build-essential curl screen zip

# go language - first try official packages version:
apt-get -V -s install golang

# but on Debian 8 the golang version is still 1.3.3 < 1.4, so install from tar:
curl -O https://storage.googleapis.com/golang/go1.4.2.linux-amd64.tar.gz
sudo tar -C /usr/local -xzf go1.4.2.linux-amd64.tar.gz

# go/bin/ folder, PATH
mkdir -p ~/go/bin; echo "export GOPATH=$HOME/go" >> ~/.bashrc
echo "export PATH=\$PATH:$HOME/go/bin:/usr/local/go/bin" >> ~/.bashrc
source ~/.bashrc

gsoil
Code:
# clone source code, build gsoil, and link binary
mkdir ~/soil
cd ~/soil
git clone https://github.com/soilcurrency/go-ethereum.git
cd go-ethereum
make gsoil

ln -s ~/soil/go-ethereum/build/bin/gsoil ~/go/bin/

account & backup
Code:
# new SOIL account
gsoil account new

# put this backup into a safe place, then delete
zip -r ~/soil-keystore-20151018.zip  ~/.soil/keystore
rm ~/soil-keystore-20151018.zip

start
Code:
# start server
screen -S soil gsoil

# screen is comfortable to send to / get from background
# Ctrl-A D           detach screen
# screen -ls         list all screens
# screen -r     resume
# screen -r soil     resume the screen with name soil

Everything below here ... works on any system, not only Linux.

JSRE console
Code:
# attach to running gsoil server
gsoil attach

# things to try:
eth.accounts
personal.unlockAccount("8da4fc05ca343e6a41646194e91931d9f413a40c","********", 1)
admin.nodeInfo
net.peerCount
eth.blockNumber
miner.start()
miner.stop()
exit

so much more to come ...
Code:
# more complex JS:

# show single balances on each address
eth.accounts.forEach(function(e){console.log(e,web3.fromWei(eth.getBalance(e),'soil'));});

# total balance on all addresses:
total=0; eth.accounts.forEach(function(e){total+=parseFloat(eth.getBalance(e));}); console.log(web3.fromWei(total,"soil"));

And now?
Any suggestions, criticism, ideas? Please tell me, happy to improve this.

send ...
Code:
# ... a tip to altsheets' donation address, from your eth.coinbase address (your "main address")
eth.sendTransaction({from: eth.coinbase, to: '0x8da4fc05ca343e6a41646194e91931d9f413a40c', value: web3.toWei(100, "soil")})

<-- If you like this, show it:  0x8da4fc05ca343e6a41646194e91931d9f413a40c  Thanks.

forgot to mention.. if you ARE able to recover the old keystore file from doing an undelete, and you have SOIL in your present wallet... back up the present keystore with something like "keystore_2" or somthing before recovering the old wallet address. with a little finesse you should be able to import one or the other into gsoil with use of your password for that wallet and straighten everything out. let me know if that works or not. if not, ill keep looking for a solution for you.

we received a response from bittrex this evening:

"Thanks for the request. Our policy is to not comment on whether we will launch coins but we mainly add coins due to community demand. We gauge demand based off of tweets, hash power, length of bitcointalk thread, volume on other exchanges, etc. Follow us on twitter @bittrexexchange and tweet about how much you like this coin and Bittrex. We respond to creative and insightful posts to help market your favorite coins and Bittrex."

if you have the time and inclination, fire off a tweet to them, or RT the latest post on our @SOILcoin twitter account and help us get listed.

thanks for everyones support, and for making our launch successful!!
