So I'm interested in this project in general and would like to ask some questions, because I personally hold some Monero and I generally like the Cryptonote protocol:
1) Can't AEON be replaced? : So from what it sounds like to me (or at least what I've read up on), AEON is primarily used for a testing ground for Monero and, in ways, new cryptonote functions to be tested. I think that there are "testnet" coins (I may be wrong in the terminology) that could test the functions of how these future "coins" will play out with realistic tx's/sec testing. So if you were to invest in AEON, wouldn't you be generally funding the testing of sincere cryptonote coins?
2) Does AEON have a place against Monero? : If cryptonote were to become a mainstream asset/currency that every seeks for, I just believe that one will inevitably "survive" and be worth something in the end of it. Relating to the first question, don't you think holding AEON just support and encourages devs like Smooth to keep on trucking on to make essentially a better platform for Monero to work on? Essentially what I'm asking, is do you think AEON will always be the "work horse" of Monero?
3) Best place to buy AEON? : So last time I have checked, Shapeshift doesn't support AEON... neither does poloniex (the only other exchange I have signed up for). I have tried to look this up in a very brief period, so this question might sound dumb or "noobish" to some people on here... but I feel like a lot of people don't know where to buy AEON, and based on the OP from americanpegasus, there isn't much resources on how to purchase this coin.
4) Wallets : Are wallets all primarily downloads, or are there webwallets already created like mymonero for XMR?
Thanks in advance for the answers.

is anyone working on a website for aeon?
Someone mentioned working on it but I don't remember who it was and there hasn't been any progress as far as I know. If you (or anyone) want to make a credible effort PM me about it. Primary web presence is a valid core team contribution that will be eligible for a share of the donation fund at some point in the future according to the guidelines already expressed (I think on this thread), especially if the effort is successful and sustained. Other community members who want to work independently and without any kind of accountability may want to do independent web sites that promote and support the coin (as with any other services). Depending on how you want to approach it you could do one or the other.

Regarding Poloniex, I feel like it is a 100% certainty they will relist Aeon in the next 12 months, so it doesn't bother me. I've already asked the moderators about it, and received what I felt was a positive (though vague and non-committal) response.
Most of the community seems to agree that there is no need to rush. Bittrex is serving us well for now. Once the database work is done we can discuss the issue again.

Some things to think about:-
1. Aeon has roughly the same emission curve as Monero.
2. Monero's all time high is 0.01
Let's say you bought just 1 BTC's worth of Aeon at 0.0001. That would give you 10,000 Aeon.
Given the comparable emission curve, it is a good assumption that Aeon will at least peak at the same all-time high of Monero, if not slightly higher when you factor in the lost coins that are out of play as a consequence of the temporal abandonment (October 2014-May 2015).
Peaking at 0.01 your 10,000 Aeon would now be worth 100BTC.
Not bad for a mere 1 BTC investment.

I'm confused though... Wouldn't this not likely happen if Monero (and let's be fair) or if Dash fills the role of the true anonymity coin of the future? I just feel like if one of these coins were to gain real traction and known for giving users true anonymity, then the others that are competing for that spot would essentially fade away. I know that Monero and Aeon are tied together in some aspects with developers, but from what I have gathered, it just seems that Aeon is more of a "test" coin, so devs like Smooth will implement successful coding into Monero after everything looks good. Am I reading into all of this wrong? Because honestly that's what it looks like to me.

Am I reading into all of this wrong? Because honestly that's what it looks like to me. You're almost certainly right, except for the fact that Monero's all-time high (0.01) was a consequence of "new exchange syndrome" preceding Mintpal adoption. We're talking oscillational peaks here, and Aeon is very much behind on adopted exchanges. Thus, the upside is potentially large if history is a yardstick. The issue I suppose is whether Aeon has the power to stand alone, or whether it will forever be Monero's little brother. However, neither scenario is likely to affect the oscillatory peaks that accompany each new significant step in the coins advancement, including new exchange adoption. Personally I am enthused by Aeon as its own coin. The community potential is demonstrably positive.

Why have we got two twitter accounts? We only need the official twitter account right now.
Aeon is currently a tiny sapling. The last thing a tiny sapling needs is to be pulled in all manner of conflicting directions.
There hasn't been any decision yet as to what the new logo is going to be. No-one has made any decision and rightly so. If a new logo is going to be used then it needs to be right first. We've got a long way to go before the community decides on what logo / branding style will ultimately be used.
There's no way I can get behind the new logo in its current incarnation. I respect the labour and effort involved, but it's not a professional looking logo by any means. There might be an interesting concept hidden there somewhere but we've got a long way to go yet.
Kindly use the original logo until such time as the community/executive faculties have made a firm decision on what to use.

On the subject of logos, here is my latest offering. A better shade of blue coupled with a modern better graphic. Simple, universal and powerful. This is the direction we should be headed.

I like it, probably the most out of current iterations. But that's not to say there aren't even better versions out there (curvature, boldness, colours). I find it funny how everyone is trying to impose their own version, because they really think "this is it".

Aeoncurrency ( https://twitter.com/aeoncurrency) is not the official account, Aeoncoin is ( https://twitter.com/AeonCoin). I am not sure why someone (perhaps a community member) started a second, similiar looking, account. Doesn't do any good in my opinion. Why not just use a nickname instead of an official looking name?
