The question is, why would anyone in the crypto-currency arena, not use Monero and AEON -- if they were serious about the future?
They will use both, some people not aware about that yet.

AEON has a big pump on bittrex, any good news? No news is good news. Well, I guess Monero taking off so wildly aroused interest in this coin as well EDIT: Further fueling ... https://twitter.com/BBRcurrency/status/770149257705721856

The fact that AEON will be Mobile POW, i.e., Smartphone app, is very forward thinking. PC sales are falling worldwide. Smartphone sales are surging. This should make AEON stronger. Larger network. More speed. More decentralized. Now if I only had a Sat phone or Shortwave phone, I could spend them in deep dark Africa on Safari. Maybe not. I wonder if Monero will refocus on the 'new device world?' PC's are becoming passé.

Note:
I'm receiving new hits on my hubpages about AEON, since I put my web address in my profile.
Some I can track:
Hong Kong, Sweden, India, Brazil, Aussies, Russia and France. (EDIT: add Spain and now Germany.)...and now the Netherlands...
I think I know who the Frenchie is, but he/she could be playing hide and seek like a muppet.
In any event, the Hong Kong one I will keep a close eye on. The more legs, besides the P2P Exchanges, the better.

Thy shall be done...
Good night, from the Central Florida.

What is the supply cap in Aeon and why do you guys expect the price to appreciate?
A Monero clone alone won't cut it... why would people actually use Aeon?
Just wondering before I invest/speculate
The supply cap is the same as XMR. That is 18.4 million coins plus the tail emission for miners. It would help to look at Aeon not as a clone to Monero but more of a testnet. I believe the development team sometimes add features to Aeon first before adding them to Monero making sure that they are stable and useful.

So, just to clarify because someone has already expressed concern: I did not actually buy a million Aeon, nor have any plans to. If 400k bitcoins is good enough for a genius like Tramell, then who am I to try to acquire more than 400k Aeon? I do plan on upping my holdings to 420k though, partially for the lulz, and partially because my wife technically owns 20k Aeon so I would rather have that on top of my personal amount.

As far as I know that has never happened and AEON is NOT a testbed for Monero. In fact in the near future it will be the exact opposite. Aeon will integrate stuff developed and tested in Monero (lmdb and GUI at least, don't remember if ringCT). This project was picked up by smooth alone (after the former dev closed shop) and although there is some overlap in the community, the Monero Team has no official ties to AEON.

I agree that there is no official relationship despite the overlapping community and smooth as a developer. However, Aeon improvement have already been merged in to the Monero codebase. Here is an example of a privacy improvement found and fixed by smooth for Aeon before it was merged to Monero

Correct AEON's hard fork to change block intervals was a testbed for Monero's similar hard fork.
That is quite true. The discussion on whether and how to change Monero's block time was informed by the experience having done so with AEON (specifically how it affected the level of orphan blocks and reorgs on the network), and also in identifying some specific issues with transitioning the difficulty algorithm (specifically the experience here showed that a special adjustment rules was not needed or worth the added complexity, and Monero didn't include one for that reason). Also, while pruning hasn't been implemented in Monero the experience here has also informed development plans there in terms of making similar optimizations in the future (that would be even more true if the usage on this network picked up a bit showing more experience with the storage reduction in practice). of a privacy improvement found and fixed by smooth for Aeon before it was merged to Monero
Very good point, I would not have have remembered that one myself. Another one was merging that ip ban code from BBR (required changes due to BBR's own divergence) and making some improvements to it. That happened here first then was ported to Monero, the latter being more straightforward due the similarity in code.

Fair enough. But monero also merged fixes done by zoidberg in boolberry. Does that make boolberry a testbed for monero?
I don't think that AEON is just about trying stuff out to see if it works and can be ported to monero. Am I mistaken?

So if I understand you all correctly, the Monero team is not officially linked to the Aeon team. Yet improvements made in Aeon somehow finds its way to Monero, how come the Aeon team have not accused the Monero team of theft?
