Aeon isn't on Polo so there will be no pump.

Good.  Aeon is a carefully tended garden of the best Cryptonote ideas.  It would annoy me greatly to see it treated as a tawdry pump and dump vehicle.

Yes sad it see it that expensive. It seems it is pegged to Litecoin. Since AEON is also silver, but not to bitcoin but to Monero.

Expensive?

Aeon's currently 77 on the marketcap. It's continued rise up to the Top 20 was always likely to occur at a slower pace than it's sibling Monero.

However, just do the math: When Aeon finally reaches the Top 20 it will logically have at minimum a marketcap of at least $40,000,000.

It currently has a marketcap of $3,500,000.

This means that Aeon has the prospect of a 1042% rise ahead of it (at least).

We have seen how Aeon fares in these situations. At the end of 2016 it had returned a healthy 3111%, outperforming even Monero which only managed 3054%.

So a 1042% ascension for 2017 is a fairly conservative prediction relative to it's past performance.

But expensive? Nowhere even close.

Yes expensive. Cheaper coin is more people can afford to buy it. Current price is way to high for many to afford buy some. I hope Cthulhus will realise this and release some of their holdings on the market.

Bitcoin as well was ridiculously overpriced at 25 cents once, and people wished some of the leviathans of the day would dump to get the price down.

But....why?  Aeon is one of the best forms of money our species has ever seen.  Why should someone get rid of it for your benefit?  Will you also give away large chunks of your Aeon once it's worth $30 and $80 each?

So with BBR being removed from Poloniex, now may be the time to push to get AEON back on to fill the CryptoNote void Smiley

I'm curious what is everyone's take on how aeon would fit itself as a major player among the big time cryptocurrency projects?

Like I understand the relationship of how cryptocurrencies have to fit this "yin and yang" dynamic where they have to coexist with Bitcoin, like how we see Monero being the 'private sector' in relation to Bitcoin, and how some people see Ethereum being the 'app/smart contract sector' in relation to Bitcoin; everything seems to have it's purpose. ... But how does Aeon fit into there?

Like if Monero is already filling in that gap of being the 'private sector' or the 'cash' of cryptocurrencies and is the project where all devs flock too to work on that sort of thing; what makes Aeon stand out?  Is there a legit use case separate of Monero, to have some sort of use case on it's own?  Or is there more of a "yin-yang" relationship going on with Monero itself?

Seems Poloniex is trying to become a "boutique" exchange.  From beginning of 2016 Poloniex delisted 78 coins. And in same time added only 15 and two (DAO and VOX) that was in same time also delisted.
So in a bit more then a year Poloniex almost halved number of coins they offer to trade. If they will continue with this we might in 2018 see lees then 50 coins traded on Poloniex and  I am afraid AEON will hardly find a place there.

The success of ETH changed the fortunes of Poloniex considerably allowing them to be not so dependent on smaller coins.

I'm pretty confident about AEON becoming reactivated providing the technical conditions are right.

Remeber how Monero started. For a good part of 2016 it was trading sub 1$. in 2015 it was trading as low as .25 USD. Why oh why didn't I buy then? Well look where we are now, Aeon is at .25 and Monero at $25.00. What do you think will happen here in the next year or two? Its a gamble but I think its a good one. I'm in with 1/2 of my BTC waiting for the rise. See you all in a year I'll be driving my lambo.  Grin
