Yep, that's the last status as far as what's posted there. That was a certified letter I believe informing Shavers that since he stopped replying to the court, a default judgment was entered against him. Looks like he pretended to not be home and never went to the post office to claim it. Shocking, I'm sure.

http://de.scribd.com/doc/210845161/SEC-vs-pirateat40-1http://de.scribd.com/doc/210845205/SEC-vs-pirateat40-2What a lying piece of shit. Claims that a guy he met on the tor network stole 202,000 BTC from him. A year later he can't remember which of the three persons he dealt with stole it. Funny to read when the judge caught him lying (1 document page 232-235). Did he really refund 100,000 BTC? Apparently to gigavps, imsaguy, ognasty, btc4domains and some other guys. The most interesting part: The record evidence in this action establishes that, during the relevant period, Shavers raised at least 725,626 bitcoins in principal investments from BTCST investors; he returned at least 538,056 bitcoins to BTCST investors in purported returns and withdrawals; and he diverted at least 150,649 bitcoins to his personal account at the bitcoin currency exchange Mt. Gox, which, among other things, he then sold or used to day-trade (converting bitcoins to U.S. dollars and vice versa), suffering a net loss from his day-trading, but realizing net proceeds of $164,758 from his net sales of 86,202 bitcoins. The record evidence establishes further that, during the relevant period, Shavers transferred $147,102 from his Mt Gox account to other accounts, which he then used for personal expenses, including rent, car-related expenses, utilities, retail purchases, visits to casinos, and meals.

It is obvious he lied through that whole deposition. He's an idiot. Goes to a deposition without a lawyer. Admits to destroying evidence among other things. This guy is going to jail. Here is a funny recap for those that don't want to read the whole documents. http://buttcoin.org/pirateat40-became-bill-cosby-coins

It is obvious he lied through that whole deposition. He's an idiot. Goes to a deposition without a lawyer. Admits to destroying evidence among other things. This guy is going to jail. The list is long: - Running a Ponzi scheme (proven) - Lying under oath (proven) - Destroying evidence (admitted) - Laundering funds from Silk Road (admitted) - and probably tax invasion Hard to grasp how incredibly moronic he acted. Indeed, but even harder to grasp that he was able to collect more than 700,000 Bitcoins. One of my favourites is Trendon talking about some bogus Blockchain analysis that should prove that he wasn't running a Ponzi scheme. Real comedy: http://imgur.com/CerTQv9

No he didnt refund anybody, and the SEC acknowledged in doc #2 that pirate/trendon was lying and the evidence is he repaid no one. The time trendon talked to the SEC prior to this interview transcript, he told them he had 100000 BTC left, in his mind it somehow showed he wasnt running a ponzi. At the time of the interview linked above, he claimed to have no coins left, since the court ordered his assets frozen. The SEC called him out on that, "where are the 100000 coins you said last time that you had, and he said, oh I paid some people back. Again, even the SEC acknowledges he paid no one back.

Oh, jeez. Well, the defense fund has already raised over $50. Mr. Seibert will at least be able to afford a few coffees for the case. His enthusiasm in writing is fascinating... kind of has that "Better Call Saul" edge.

How dumb do you have to be to have all your personal info out there and then scam millions. Doesn't he have kids? I feel sorry for them. He's lucky the Bitcoin community is full of non-violent people.

The kids in his facebook profile where his ex-wife's from a previous relationship. She has since left him and I hear he is now living in his mother's basement. What comes around goes around.

Seems more likely to be a scam, does it not? The spelling, a lawyer asking for donations? Seems incredibly suspect if you ask me.
