If price stabilize it might go ever 500
but i dont know for sure
I think it need time for a coin to be stable, but since there are less than two weeks left until New year i think that it will reach $500.
Yah maybe we are not sure that it will go to 500 dollars, for a little stable around 450 dollars that is fine with me.
In another side is also kinda expensive to buy a whole coin.

Well it depends on people where they live, bitcoin is expensive in poor countries and it is not as expensive for people that have a good standard of living, but bitcoin is not cheap as people claim, but cheaper than 1,200 USD (which was the top) then of course.

Stability is what we need more then this increase.

But, i have to admit stability @ 250 USD is not good. The actual value of bitcoin in my perception is around 300 - 350 USD. If the price
settles @ 450 I will be happy too.

Either way stability is what we need.

I think it is a good price at 450 dollar. We were at 1200 dollar then came back to 200 dollar. So to me it is a fair price.
Maybe it is even on the lose side. 600 seems to be a better price now.

Well what makes you think it is a good price. Because it was once at 1200? That is not a valid argument.

Give me a reason based on some facts/foundation where the value of bitcoin lies? It's hard I know, but my guestimation is based on the 199 price before the pump. If you would draw a line to this date, you would probably see a value between 300-350 USD.

The actual value of bitcoin is 30 000$ per bitcoin, that's the ACTUAL value. that's why I'm not selling.

better to sell your bitcoin at high price then waiting re-buy at low price
hold is a good way to get more value of your bitcoin but trading is better way to growing your bitcoin

Its expensive to buy a whole kilo of silver or a whole Oz of gold or platinum etc

You can't blame the price of bitcoin on your not having enough money to buy one

If I didn't have enough money to buy a whole loaf of bread I can't blame anyone else so why should I  complain about whole btc being expensive but not every thing else?

I saw some nice gold 1kilo bars in a shop recently, around $36,000 each, but I didn't have enough cash on me so I couldn't buy one

Fuck that expensive goldshop for selling expensive gold bla bla...

Yes that's what I'm thinking as well. There's a week or 2 left of December and bitcoins is not that far off from reaching $500.
I'm hoping to end the year with a $500 as well, but as it seems I'm afraid that when bitcoin reaches $500 that the price will drop again.

It is certainly possible to reach a 500$ by the end of this year, currently BTC price is 464$ and is rising slowly. This time it seems to me that if the price falls that will not be a significant drop, because the price is fairly stable and rising slowly.I hope price will not go below 400$ any more in the future Smiley

Actually there is nothing bad if we don't reach $500 before the year end. we already acomplished an important goal for the year 2015 that is to reverse the bear trend.
the rest is left for 2016. A slower rise is much better in the longer term, than a sudden p&d.

True, but it would be awesome if we did reach the $500 mark. It's the perfect way to start the new year - by a bullish trend.

The actual value of bitcoin in my perception is around 300 - 350 USD.

The actual value of bitcoin is 30 000$ per bitcoin, that's the ACTUAL value. that's why I'm not selling.

why 30k and not let's say... 10k? there is a particular reason behind this? or maybe this si just your target...

If bitcoin was the only cryptocurrency in the world without any competition and it solved the TPS problem then 1 bitcoin would cost 1 000 000$. I think Satoshi agrees because he created 8 decimal places so that 1 satoshi could be representing 1 cent. Instead of whole bitcoins, we would start using the smallest divisible units and have them representing values that we are used to in our everyday life. 149 satoshis = 0.00000149 bitcoins = 1.49$ . Aside from that, I've seen speculations that if all the remittance in the world is done with bitcoin it would have to cost a million dollars each.

However, since bitcoin faces competition it becomes obvious that it will lose a good proportion of its potential value to the competitors. Bitcoin's market cap currently takes ~90% of all the market caps of all cryptocurrencies. From 100% to 90% in 8 years. When will bitcoin mature? Perhaps after next 8-16 years. During this time there will be a lot of new competitors so we might get down to 50%. Now we have 1 bitcoin costing 500 000$ in ~2025. With past 10 years dollar has lost 20% of its value. Things don't look good for dollar or any of the fiat currencies, they will lose even more value. By holding bitcoin you are not getting rich because bitcoins are generating new wealth, you are getting rich because everyone else is getting poor. If we extrapolate the inflation conservatively we would get something like ~50% in the next 10  years (for the sake of simple math). This means currently 1 bitcoin should be worth 250 000$ with a lot of assumptions. Because assumption is the mother of all fuckups, we make one last assumption --- 10% of what I just described will actually get to manifest. 10% of 250 000$ is 25 000$.

So, being as pessimistic as possible while still trying to remain rational gives us 25k bitcoins. Because markets tend to overreact, it is safe to say that those prices would be achieved with an enormous bubble between 25k and 50k. I remember winkleswiis predicting that 1 bitcoin should cost 40 000$. So, many people have come to the similar numbers. In my dreams, the highest clearly visible price per bitcoin that I have seen is 17 000$ which is aligned with other predictions by its order of magnitude. Speculators set the price, right? Right now I'm speculating so I'm setting the price (in a way it's sorcery  Wink ).

Remain only ten days before the end of this year and this thread is becoming interesting. I don't believe never in every kind of prediction make about the future price of bitcoin simply because have no base. No one can find data to study and which make him t give some credible price. Bitcoin is with no owner and as such with no one who can take care of it or who can mange it. So go like he want. But playing sometimes with its price don't hurt no one. For this I find interesting this thread. So I'm playing even me. The OP is near the truth but according to me will not achieve it. Bitcoin, with much probability, will not go over 460-470 us dollar one and exist the possibility even to go again down. For the celebration people spend money and may be possible that even them who hold bitcoin sell some of those in order to have some other money to spend. Maybe they will use bitcoin to buy, avoiding in this way its change, but first even this action increase the risk of going dawn as price because will be the merchant who will receive bitcoin who, with big probability, will sell it, and second, the penetration of bitcoin at the merchants is very weak. So have more probability to be changed than to be used.

I hope you are good sorcerer,in any case quite interesting post.Bitcoin still behaves like a little kid with a lot of ups and downs.Once they mature these 500$ we're talking about will hopefully be a distant memory of his childhood.

I hope that it can be true so that I can buy more gift or gift for me in 25 or 26 December. I would like that it goes to 500 dollars at that it brakes that it can go higher. I believe when bitcoin hit 500 dollars that it will go down again, but not that down.
Maybe be around 480 dollars. For now bitcoin can't even brake 470 dollars so we just need to wait.
