As the major economies are finding their foot again after years of stagnation, I would assume Bitcoin would rise in value in the year to follow. If it will reach USD 500 in 2016 is hard to predict, but indeed possible. Maybe a more realistic peek would be around the 460 mark.

You seem to be very limited in your imagination.. and even in your rendition of actual factual probabilities.
Maybe I am, who knows - as I said, it's just my prediction. Personally, I would like to see Bitcoins rise in value. But a ~ 25% increase in just 1 year at such a high trading value is mind blowing

I'm not trying to insult you, but one year is a long time in bitcoinlandia.

If you look at the history and the fundamentals including adoption, networking effect, venture capital investment and even speculation pumping possibilities.

Surely, time will tell, but bitcoin is definitely not any "normal" run of the mill investment, if such a thing does exist.

1) Self-Custody is a right.  There is no such thing as "non-custodial" or "un-hosted."  2) ESG, KYC & AML are attack-vectors on Bitcoin to be avoided or minimized.  3) How much alt (shit)coin diversification is necessary? if you are into Bitcoin, then 0%......if you cannot control your gambling, then perhaps limit your alt(shit)coin exposure to less than 10% of your bitcoin size...Put BTC here: bc1q49wt0ddnj07wzzp6z7affw9ven7fztyhevqu9k

do you even know what you are talking about? 2016 will bring us possibly closer to the $1000 price level, and you are talking about a "realistic" price of $460 in 2016...

No insults at all mate, this whole Bitcoin universe is all new to me. From a monetary side, as I look, it's just hard to believe a currency will rise so much in such a short amount of time, especially since there aren't any kind of control over the valuta, no central bank etc.
But again, my knowledge of the bitcoinlandia is close to zero - happy new year!

If you attempt to categorize bitcoin narrowly, then surely, you would not seem much upside potential, and that seems to be the error of a lot of people who know little to nothing about bitcoin.

Upside potential could reasonably experience 2 10x price surges in one year (similar as what happened in 2013).  In that regard, the first price surge could be from approximately $230 to $2,300, and the next price surge could be from $1,500 to $15,000... I know that is not exactly two 10 x surges, but that scenario is not unrealistic given the developments around bitcoin, and the computer security infrastructure seems well capable of currently handling a $15,000 price point, and as the price goes up the infrastructure may well continue to be bolstered (as well as attacked), but to be able to secure $50k BTC prices (which may be a bit further down the road (maybe 3-5 years).

I think the price on February 1 will be $560-$599. I am sure that the more we are heading towards the block halving, the more the price will increase. That's my prediction.

Moving to $600 is really hard because it is +200 USD jump.
I am thinking that for January and February the price will be max $500

probably between this current price and 1k, 600 might come true in february as a stable value, pretty much like 400 is right now

but at the same time there can be some unstable high value, like 800

It is quite possible to see 500 $ mark by the end of this month.Current price has been tested over and over again and seems pretty stable so this is a new bottom and if there is little more money poured in market ,we will easily reach to 500 $.

Nope, but will reach 500 for sure, since even the holidays dump failed to drive the price below 400, so we have solid grounds, exactly what we need to grow to the next level
