whales know they can buy up tons and instantly jack up the price..
knowing delusional wide-eyed 10k kids will dive on BTC to ride that wave to 10k
then the whale will laugh his ass off hard .. and dump like he has never dumped before.
all over the added momentum the 10kids brought.
bringing the whale one hell of a fancy profit !

and the whale can do that anytime he wants some extra cash.
the current price of bitcoin will not mean anything to them (makes no difference)

the fact the majority think $10,000 a coin is even possible empowers whales to dominate the markets with severe manipulation.

i say it might spike up to $500 'ish winter time but it will go back down again.

When the price is over $10,000, it means the market cap is $210 billion. Bitcoin becomes quite popular then. There are more people use and invest in bitcoin. The effect of several big whales is not as important as that of today. The market cannot be manipulated easily.

I do not care about a specific price of bitcoin. I just want it to be useful. In order to be useful, the price has to be stable. If the price volatility is like US dolloar, then it is excellent. However, it is not possible at the moment. The market capitalization is too small. If the price rises 20% a year, I am very happy. If the price volatility is less than 5%, I am even happier.

The only problem is the existence of so many bitcoins , so evenm after halving people could possible sell all their bitcoin just to profit and bring the stable price back to 300's

May be this month end or December end we can expect the testing of $500 levels again. Surely before halving we can expect the price to go above $1000 again.
By end of 2016 definitely we are going to test $2000 levels. Believe in bitcoin.

This is probably the most realistic prognosis but I would go a bit above that. I think we can see $1k before the end of the next year. Another very important aspect is the price stabiliy. As long as we see these large price swings, no serious investor ll join BTC. This volatility only attracts scammers and speculators.

if this market is really in the hands of china people, why the day after the thanksgiving day should be important to them

there were numerous festivity in the past none of them ever triggered something, new year’s day also was worthless in this regard and it is arguably the most important day

The price shall no have relationship with the Chinese lunar festival. The Chinese stock market is not related to the Festivals in China. Bitcoin has is own price pattern. When we reach the consensus of blocksize, the price will reflect that. The discussion is not active now. A few months ago, there was fierce debate.

most likely those whale are in cahoots with miners, so they have a certain target to stabilize the value at around certain level, they are preparing everything for the halving already

i'll not be surprise if among miners there are early adopters or other kind of whale that manipulate the market

Current projection is towards the end of July. The Chartbuddy bot is currently providing a block countdown ("BTH" - blocks to halving) over on the Wall Observer thread, though it's in blocks (obviously!), which I still can't translate into days/weeks/months!
