I say not, azure is a fad, IOTA is better off going it alone. It's BS, they'll take anyone now, just to corner the market in BaaS

So it is nothing to do with address not in the list?

Addresses not in the list are incorrect and should be regenerated when GUI is released.

finally i got my address in the list Wink Wink

We have switched to a new address scheme. The addresses below will be converted into the new format by GUI software upon the first authorization. Technically it will look like this: a user enters the seed, the software generates a new address, the software sends a request (signed by the old address) to the coordinator to transfer the corresponding number of iotas to the new address.

Don't use old addresses, those who used escrow service should hand over the new addresses to their agents once they get them generated by the GUI software.

the 'seed' being the passphrase in all small letters with '9's we used initally (offline), right?

IOTA will be the backbone of the ElectricChain and at the heart of the first ChainOfThings event to explore data integrity and security in ecosystems such as smart-grids.

Anyone here in London at the end of May?

There's a lot of new material buried in here.

Chain-of-Things

So we got the Chain-of-Things set up by these guys:
http://www.chainofthings.com/aboutus/

And we have the Chain-of-Things partners, namely these guys:
http://www.chainofthings.com/partners/

And http://www.chainofthings.com/new-page/ tells us:

Quote
Our advisors are David Sønstebø (co-founder of IoTA) Vitalik Buterin (Founder and Lead Project manager of Ethereum).

and also

Quote
The Research Lab is free for startups and free for blockchain IoT companies or individual participants (developers, researchers, enthusiasts) to join.

Corporations with vested interest in the space will pay a fixed and monthly fee to join as Members
. Discretionary donations can also be made. 80% of all fees paid from Corporations will be spent on empirical research, paid for advice from our Advisory Board/technology partners and for the production of live testing environments, including organizing relevant events/competitions to test assumptions.

It is the discretion of CoT, acting on the advice of its panel of experts, to determine how the 80% of funds should be spent. CoT will, nonetheless, provide audited accounts upon request by Members.

We will not ask any participant, including Members, to provide confidential company data as part of this process. We will, however, ask for your input on what you consider to be the biggest security problems affecting your industry as to focus research imperatives and to more fully understand issues within the IoT ecosystem.

You acknowledge, however, that any IP contributions made to the Research Lab will be assigned to Chain of Things to be made immediately available via a Creative Commons license for the world to use.

To date I dont believe any of the partners are 'Corporations', although I might be mistaken (correction pls)

ElectriCChain

And then we have ElectriCChain http://www.electricchain.org/ , which is a CoT partner (see above).

Quote
The ElectriCChain is: 7 million global solar facilities watching the skies 24/7 posting live data* to 1 blockchain for scientists, researchers and human progress.

A public tool to monitor solar energy globally in near real time. The ElectriCChain project supports the development of open standards and tools to publish and read solar electricity generation data using the SolarCoin BlockChain and/or other blockchain technologies.

*5-10 minute delayed….but working on making it better Smiley

ElectriCChain and SolarCoin are closely tied.

But SolarCoin seems very quiet and as far as I can tell SolarCoin is little more than a Bitcoin clone
http://solarcoin.org/forum/index.php

http://solarcoin.org/en/news/
Quote
On Monday February 22nd at the storied MIT MediaLab in Boston, the Electricchain was officially launched. The Electricchain concept was submitted too late to be on the panel of presenters so instead flyers were distributed to the 300 participants and the Electricchain representatives answered questions related to the project.

All-in-all lots of interesting stuff but Im a little concerned SolarCoin is making a final play, and ElectriCChain seems a bit fluffy with little information provided by its website.

Q1. @iotatoken, isn't SolarCoin the backbone of Electricchain, and IOTA the oracle?
Q2. "The ElectriCChain is", or The ElectriCChain aims to be? The ElectriCChain is not yet "7 million global solar facilities watching the skies", or is it?
Q3. Who launched Electricchain?

I'll admit I thought that was a serious release time. In hindsight i can see it was bullshit since it wasn't posted by David and closer examination of the original post has some micro text in it:

Finally we have a date!

http://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/generic?iso=20160406T060606&p0=176&msg=IOTA+GUI+relase&font=cursive&csz=1

^
"just a troll..free time tonight my girfriend is out of home!!"

This pisses me off and these posts should all have been deleted.
Did iotatoken at any point disclaim this bullshit release date, or did he assume only brainless idiots like myself would be gullible enough to believe it?

What a fat sack of balls  Angry

@tangleNinja: April Fools (as u know) is April 1st, not March 30th.

EDIT: Somehow I missed this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1216479.msg14368583#msg14368583
Anyway, all these posts should have been deleted.WTF.

EDIT: Re-reading Videodrome's posts it is obvious he was taking the piss. In my defence (and the others his humour was lost on): a) I skimmed the thread and missed the sarcasm and b) I have gotten used to some pretty weird english reading this thread and Videodrome's nonsensical ramblings are no exception. More fool me.
