The Iota Wallet is strange, How do i create my own password without needing a generator?

if my computer breaks does that mean i will lose my iota's?

Just invent a password up to 81 chars long including A-Z and number 9. Minimum size of the password should be about 60 chars. You don't need a seed generator, anyway if you want to use one use unix command line to generate a seed (never an online tool), and write the seed somewhere else (piece of paper for example) for backup.

2 hours now for my transaction from IOTA Wallet to Bitfinex and still "pending"  Huh Huh Huh
I will be so happy to get rid of this, I have enough of this bulls....
The migration from my old wallet and old seed to the new one was pure horror for me.
I just want to sell it and I can´t because the transaction is not getting the commits  Embarrassed

So long it takes for the transaction to clear? was it not supposed to clear within seconds?
Why happens this, there is people really interested in this project which already looks big now, but there is also lots of fud
Can you explain a little bit more about your genuine experience please'?
Thanks

Still unconfirmed on "iotasear.ch"  Embarrassed unbelievable, 20 hours now
Normal send transaction to bitfinex, nothing special.
I guess they are very busy because of the "Tangle migration" but I don´t care, this is taking far to long.
Doing the research why my old wallet couldn´t connect anymore, how to update my wallet, create new seed, move my balance from old seed to new longer seed was very time-consuming and stressful (many hours)
it went well in the end but you do not know that when you start.
After that horror I simply want to get ridd of iota and never ever come back. The infos from iota didn´t help at all, without google and all the forums I would not have succeeded that task

1 MIOTA = 0.915 $
1 GIOTA = 915 $
1 TIOTA = 915000 $

I am new to IOTA and this is what I understand it to be:

a token but with no blockchain instead using a tangle technology

as the tangle gets bigger it becomes more secure

zero transaction fees

no miners

=======================================================

these are some of the good points, so what are the bad points with this?

Hopefully everyone who owns more than 1 TIO and is interested in cashing some of it out is smart enough to cash out gradually over the longest time scale they are comfortable with.

This is a first point of first wave investor's cash-out. It could be hard to hold.

Hey folks, storing my iota in the light windows wallet since many months ago. I go to check my balance, after updating to the new client and entering my seed and there is nothing there.

I remember last time I had to re-attach my receive addresses multiple times for my balance to re-appear. Tried doing this about ten times and nothing yet.

Been reading on the Iota medium that some funds have been confiscated to protect from a vulnerability, but I do not understand the instructions at all, or even know how to tell if my funds were among those confiscated.

Any advice for a newbie? Just want to be sure my coin is safe, and not make some mistake that causes them to be lost.

Not every node keeps track of every transaction on the tangle. If it did than we wouldn't be proactively addressing the scaling problem now would we? We would be just the same as all the other projects. A huge part of the reason for this projects existence is to develop a DLT that can prevent double spending without any individual node needing to be aware of more than a small part of the entire ledger. As it happens your node isn't currently aware of the part of the tangle that has your transaction, this is to be expected to happen sometimes and can be remedied quite easily.
